We came here because my husband had heard of this place from some co workers. We were dining in because it was my husbands lunch hour. No line when we came but the wait to get it was just too long. Curly fries are really long so they had to be pulled apart to eat. They got cold really fast. Bacon cheeseburger was just ok. Shredded cheese is put on them vs sliced so just a heads up. Bacon strips thin. Flavor of meat was plain and a little on the burned side. They ask how you want the meat cooked. First and last visit for us. I just happened to be in Dallas somewhere near by and looked this place up. Service was great, they even got me ketchup after bringing me food even though there is a self serve spot. I got a double double with cheese medium and it was perfect. the fries were crispy and fresh cut. My friend got a well done original and it was not dry at all! i recommend this burger for your cheat meal if you are a bodybuilder. read more

It's been quite some time since I last visited Rick's, but it's still a decent burger joint. Their burgers are made to order, so you can have it however you like... Their prices are great as well, it's rare when I can have lunch with my s/o for under $20! Overall better than your average fast food burger, but in no way the best burger in town. read more

Julie is always a pleasure to talk with as we place our orders. You place your order and the food is brought to you. You can also call your order in and pick it up. They're are open for breakfast and lunch. And if you want a selection off the lunch menu, they will fix it The eggs are always perfect. The chicken fried steak is huge and tasty. Great service, from the moment you walk up the cashier always has a warm smile and ready to explain the menu in detail. The burgers are always made fresh and cooked to order coupled with the fact they care to ask how you'd like it cooked. I LOVE their fries and they give generous portions of it. They consistently have the same ppl from the cashier, cook, to the "to go" person prepping my plate which I take as a great sign. All this for UNDER $10 by the way, sign me up. I love finding these little dive type burger joints and Rick's is the personification of that. It's a divey little place in the middle of an industrial park, I wouldn't have even seen it had it not been for the snow on the street and me having to drive slowly, but I'm happy for that! The restaurant is advertised as "old fashioned" burgers which to me conjures up images of big, thick, juicy burgers that are hand formed. These burgers, however, are very thin and seem to be machine pressed and probably purchased from a meat processing plant. I think old fashioned may refer to made to order. Maybe back in the day when there was not much meat and people were not as prosperous maybe thin burgers were the style. When I ordered I was asked how I wanted my burger cooked which implied a thick burger. These patties are so thin that I don't see how they can be anything but well done. You throw the 1/4 inch patty on the grill and 30 seconds later it is well done. It is not clear how one could actually cook a thin patty to medium. Anyway, the burger is decent but not great. On the number 1 there is lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, and a ton of mustard. You add the ketchup. You order and they make it to order then bring it to your table. The food is 3 stars but the tables were clean, there is ample seating, and I got a burger, onion rings (from a box) and a drink for $9 so that bumps it to 4 stars. Most of the burgers are in the $4-$5 range which is very reasonable, even for a very thin patty. This place is borderline dive which is fine with me. Very casual. Absolutely no pretension here. Seems to cater to the lunch crowd from the immediate vicinity. Rick's burgers, at least the one I ordered, is not quite as good as Flaming Burger, Burger House, or Jakes in the Lake Highlands/Lakewood area. read more

Was pleasantly surprised by this cheap burger place. They ask how much you want your the patties cooked, which is rare in the first place. The big shocker is the guy actually knew how to cook the patties to order. Be sure to tell them exactly what you want on your burger, otherwise they might leave off the veggies and condiments. The buns are soft, fresh, and appropriately heated. The fries are curly shoestring. Easily five stars for the target market. read more

Went here because Coyotes tacos was cash only, we walked in a little before they opened but she said they were ready. I got the biggest burger on the menu and fried pickles. They only do 1 patty but it's huge patty. It took about 10 minutes for the food to come. It was a huge and flavorful burger, Jake's and Rick's are the best burgers in Mansfield in my opinion. Pretty nice burger place. Like the first reviewer mentioned, it really seems like a working man's burger place during lunchtime. The lines can get pretty long here during lunch which usually means it's a good place. Their burgers are a pretty good sized 1/3 lb for the regular size which is plenty enough to feed me. They ask how you want it cooked but at least when I went last time they cooked it slightly longer. Their string fries aren't all that great and can be skipped. read more

Wow talk about a find!! Looking for a quick bite and burger were up to bay. This place has just as you want. Good quality and great service. The food was great. The French fries were especially good. Fried mushrooms made a good appetizer. Their service and atmosphère keep this on the list of when in the neighborhood. Great service. Place is clean. Very divey, casual atmosphere. I've had the char grilled chicken salad, sweet potato fries, and the classic burger. All delicious.
