I would be mindful that there is limited seating for the booths, however, there is also the bar that provides more seats. The staff is very friendly! This is easily one of the freshest and tasty cheeseburgers in DFW! Their chili cheese hotdogs are also very good. They do have homemade rootbeer, and while it was cool, I would say there are better homemade rootbeers in DFW. Finally, if you come you have to save room and try some of their shakes! I'm torn on rating this place. I've heard it's a classic, a staple, it's better than x burger joint...it's been on my radar for awhile because of the house made root beer and hand dipped corn dogs. We happened to be nearby, so I called to check if they had corn dogs available (they had 9 left), so we drove on down. Location is easy to get to. You can pull up and turn on your hazards for service, walk up to a window, or eat inside the small dining area. We opted for car service for the vibes. Had my order taken by a really friendly kid, seems like a family owned and run place. We got fries, onion rings, 3 corn dogs, chicken strips, and a classic bacon cheeseburger, plus a large root beer. Fries are crinkle cut, good and basic. Onion rings are beer battered, very good. The hand dipped corn dogs are good if you like your batter heavier with corn meal, it lends itself to a very crispy corn dog (I liked it, the picky people with me did not like the texture). Chicken strips were picky kid approved, allegedly "frickin good". Bacon cheeseburger was a solid basic burger. Root beer was alright, think it would be great to get the float option. Now, here is where I need to just throw in that my niece got a corndog and fries... Some time into all of us eating our lunch, she told me there was hair in her fries, and I didn't believe her, so I took them from her and then I thought maybe it was just like burnt little strips of spices or anything other than hair, please, but no...thick, wiry little black hairs, and when the count was higher than 3, I threw everything away. I took off a star because the seating at the booths and the bathrooms suck! The booths are so cramped that you will tangle your legs and feet with your companion while having the table against your chest. There are seats at the counter so grab if you can. Also the bathrooms are not handicapped accessible. Would it cost much for the owner to switch out toilets to the higher seats and install a grab bar? No not really. Also the music was so loud I asked for it to be turned down. Now the burgers are the really good old fashioned kind. Cooked to order with a great char and served on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles with mustard are really yummy. We tried the tots and onion rings - both fried to perfection without a drop of grease. Someone in the kitchen knows how to cook and could give lessons to the fancier burger places in town. We also had the root beer ice cold in the frosty mugs - so refreshing! So even though this would qualify as a "dive" it certainly doesn't translate into dive prices. With al a carte pricing it adds up real fast to $20+ per person. We decided it was worth another visit. read more

If you've never been to this neighborhood burger joint you need to try it. It's been serving great burgers, homemade root beer in a frosty mug and many other choices since 1956. I really can't even imagine how many times I've been here over the years. Always a burger, fries and root beer. My hubby always gets a chocolate shake with his burger and fries. Yup! This place does it all for me. This brings back sweet memories of my youth sitting at the soda fountain. The food was so good. We had a fairly large group and there was a lot of sharing going on. Everything that we tried was delicious. From the cheeseburger do the chicken tenders. Everyone was happy. The homemade french fries are crisp and delicious. I ordered the onion rings also, wonderful. Do yourself a favor and try the homemade root beer or, the cherry limeade. Both are exceptional. The root beer is served in a frosty glass mug. How can you go wrong. The waitresses were so much fun, did a great job, and clearly love working for this establishment. Treat yourself to lunch. Outstanding Service and Classic Goodness at Ago Dairy-Ette! My wife and I pulled up to Ago Dairy-Ette on Ferguson Rd. on Friday night at exactly 9:00 PM -- their closing time -- and we were blown away by the hospitality. Instead of turning us away, the staff came to the door, welcomed us, and happily agreed to make us takeout. We were craving a root beer and they delivered perfection -- ice-cold mugs with that classic, creamy root beer flavor. They even gave us a refill while we waited for our food! We ordered a single cheeseburger and fries to split, and it was absolutely fantastic. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the fries were perfectly crispy, and it made the perfect late-night meal for two. What really stood out was the service. It was hard to believe they kept five people on staff just to serve one burger and a couple of root beers after closing time, but they did it with a smile. Bob (the third-generation grandson of the original owners) was back there cooking, which made the whole experience even more special. This is old-school, family-run quality at its best. been trying to go to this place for years. tried one time and they were closed for the day when i tried to drop by. Today, I was going to white rock lake so I wanted to come try it out and got a cheeseburger and frys for ~$7.50. Their dine in is open if you wanted to try out the rootbeer frozen mug, but we just wanted to enjoy the nice weather outdoors today. The people were friendly, roads could be better, and the prices were cheap. Frys taste real home made, like if I tried to cut them up and fried them myself. I think they should 100% be cooked a little longer since they were a little soggy, and almost al dente. and personally, adding salt after my frys have waited even a second longer then from the fryer to bag is too long. Cheeseburger was just how I expected, I actually wanted a burger to look mushed up and this was just that! Been eating here since I live in the neighborhood for over 30 years and today was probably my last. I'll always love the food but the value is off the charts bad. I paid $15.35 for a double cheeseburger and what I was told a large fries to go. You used to get a full 'bag' of fries but the last 3 times I got fries they were about 1/3 of what you used to get. So today I went out of my way and actually counted the individual fries that I paid $4.10 and there were only 46 thin string fries (and cold even though the burger was hot). FORTY SIX! And some were less than an inch long. Almost 10 cents per fries. That's not even close to a joke, It's a blatant rip off. So even though I have had my last meal there, the burgers are still great (but far from a deal anymore) but get you fries anywhere else than this rip off. Sad but adios Dairy-ette... Good nostalgia got way too expensive. read more
