First time coming to this location and I gotta say I loved it. Great tacos and delicious horchata. There isn't really anywhere to sit and there's no bathrooms. The service was fast and easy. Definitely worth stoping by.

It's been a long time since I've come to La paisanita and I was pleasantly satisfied with the meal I had. I loved the fajita tacos and the amount of toppings they provided.

Not my first time visiting. Hadn't been here in years, but it was Sunday night and tacos were on my noggin and decided to stop here before heading out of Dallas. It's a whole in the wall type of place. Parking is limited and there was a short line for orders. There is no indoor dinning. You order at the window and they announce your name loud enough for Cesar's (competitor accross the road) to hear. There was one picnic table next off to the side. Luckily having children has me prepared with all kinds of disinfectant wipes. There's no where to wash your hands here if you plan on sitting at the one table. Our order was supposed to be fajita and lengua. As you can see in the picture, they were all the same. One type of meat. What type of meat? Not a clue. It was very tiny chopped but didn't taste like one or the other. Cannot give this more than three stars and this is solely based on the tacos. The only nice thing about the tacos is they perfectly grease their tortillas with flavored grease from their meat. Their salsas were good too, but cold. Salsas are better warm so they don't cool the tacos. Their onion and cilantro were not finely chopped. Seemed sloppy. As far as service, my husband placed the order and he said they were very uncoordinated. They couldn't even get the drink order right.

The area is a little sketchy, but the tacos are 100% worth it!!! I had pollo tacos with salsa verde! I'd one hundred percent recommend this place to taco consumers. It was worth the drive.

Worst tacos I've ever had and bad service. Let's start with the tacos, the tortillas were crispy and there was more fat than meat on the taco. They were also very greasy, we ordered 6 tacos all together with my party and they all were not good. The reason why I said we had bad service is because one, the prices in the menu are not update. I question the cashier about my total, and she told me the tacos were actually $1.99 and not $1.79 like on the board. To begin she told me my total was $25, when I started calculating everything she said it was a lesser amount of $24 and some change. The fact that she tried to take the extra change was very upsetting because that's just not right... I wonder how many other people have been ripped of by change. I know it wasn't a lot but it's the principle that counts. First and last time coming to this establishment!

Always good tacos and good tortas. I personally like paisanitas meats better than Cesar's across the street but to each their own.

Greasy but damn good tacos. The competing juke box and Spanish soap operas almost drowns out screaming kiddos.

Awesome, authentic food. As good as El Si Hay but can get your food twice as fast and can sit down inside. Horchata is great as well.

I came in mainly to watch the game and have a few beers, but the service was so good you'd think I had ordered the entire menu instead of just casually committing crimes against the free chips and salsa. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made me feel very welcome. Honestly, if they treat a guy this well for drinking beer and demolishing complimentary chips, I can only imagine what happens if you actually order food. Definitely made me want to come back hungry. The restaurant seemed warm and inviting with all the natural light, but as the meal progressed, there were quite a few misses that degraded the overall experience here. First, they didn't really have much in the way of non-alcoholic drinks except for sodas, which I typically don't drink. I wanted a flavored lemonade or an agua fresca. The waiter said they had lemonade and they could add some mango flavoring, but when I go the drink, it was terrible. It was like a Countrytime or something to that effect. I couldn't taste the mango flavoring. The waiter was kind enough to offer to remake the drink when he realized I didn't like it, but it was the same again, so I gave up. It just tasted so artificial and gross. For my entree, I ordered an enchilada plate with scrambled eggs and potatoes. The first time it came out wrong. It was beef enchiladas and not the cheese that was listed on the menu. Then they brought out my plate again and it was now covered in queso. According to the menu, it was a cheese enchilada with chili con carne, but I didn't want to raise the issue. I was really hungry at this point and just accepted it. The food was okay...2 1/2 or 3 star territory. The restaurant itself was pretty cool. I like the location and the abundance of natural light, but the miscommunications with the kitchen and the generic lemonade drink exposed some real opportunities here.

Rather than ordering à la carte, I chose the Elegante Experience, a four-course chef-curated tasting menu that concludes with dessert for $99 per person. The menu evolves with the seasons, allowing the kitchen to showcase its freshest ingredients and current specialties, so every visit has the potential to be a little different. For the quality of the ingredients, creativity, and execution, I thought it was an outstanding value. Every course was beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. Not a single dish felt like an afterthought. The house-made masa program and wood-fired cooking really shine throughout the meal, and it's easy to see why this restaurant has earned such a strong reputation. The service was prompt, attentive, and genuinely courteous without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere strikes a rare balance, it feels refined while still being warm, familial, and incredibly inviting. If you're ordering a cocktail, I highly recommend the El Dragón. It paired perfectly with the meal and is worth trying. I've uploaded several photos with this review be sure to flip through them to get an idea of just how beautiful the presentation is. El Carlos Elegante is one of those restaurants that reminds you a tasting menu doesn't have to be intimidating or overpriced. It simply delivers outstanding food, excellent hospitality, and an experience that feels well worth the price. I'll definitely be back.
