This is the DENT Tower, and if you're like me and have multiple doctors, multiple appointments, and approximately seventeen million reasons to be in a medical building... this place is basically my second home. Today I'm here for my yearly checkup with my neurologist. My doctor does my Botox injections and my trigger point injections, and actually, I'll be back here in just THREE DAYS for another appointment to get my Botox for migraines. Because apparently my head has decided it would like to be a full-time problem. ‍ One thing I really appreciate about DENT is that there are so many different services and specialists all in one building. I have doctors on multiple floors, so depending on the appointment, I'm basically riding the elevators like I work here. And yes, the building is wheelchair accessible, which is really important to me. Getting around a large medical building can be difficult enough without having to worry about whether you're actually going to be able to access the places you need to go. Now, I did bring my very important medical assistant with me today... Her name is Bambi. She is also apparently the Director of Atmospheric Changes. Because while I was trying to have a serious medical appointment... Bambi farted. Not a little toot. A FART. And the look on her face was basically, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Girl. I KNOW IT WAS YOU. So if you hear me laughing or see Bambi looking completely innocent in this video, just know there was an incident. Anyway, outside the building you'll see another part of my DENT experience, which is the Infusion Center. When my migraines won't go away and I need more aggressive treatment, I've been able to come here for migraine infusions. There are infusion services on two floors, so this is another really important part of my care. And I wanted to show this because DENT isn't just one doctor's office. It's a whole neurologic institute with different specialties and services throughout the building. And right here in between the infusion center and DENT, you'll also find a WellNow Urgent Care, which is convenient if you need urgent care while you're already in the area. So basically, this little stretch of Sheridan Drive has become one of my regular medical stops. Overall, I've had a lot of experience with DENT, and I really appreciate having access to neurologists and migraine treatment all in one place. If you're someone who deals with chronic migraines or other neurological issues, this is definitely a place you may want to look into. As a patient of the headache clinic I have to say Rachel and Michelle are truly the best. Kind,…read morecaring and empathic but if you need anything not done by them you will not receive any help. I had a sleep study ordered in October and I was told someone would call me which they did in March. And that was after I left multiple messages asking to schedule. A new medication prescribed on March 25th that required prior was not done until a month later and that wasn't due to Anthem BCBS or my pharmacy not advising Dent of this but because the nurse forgot. If I hadn't asked the nurse about another medication for my migraines the auth would never have been done. When I called to schedule my MRI the first available was 5 weeks out. Due to my claustrophobia I always have sedation which has been done by the nurses at Dent. When I scheduled the imaging I was told to arrive 1/2 an hour early for the sedation. Imagine my surprise when I get there to be told the sedation was actually sent to my pharmacy something the woman scheduling nor the nurse at dent told me was being done. The receptionist was unable to reschedule it because "dent doesn't train front desk on scheduling just check in and to call back to reschedule". After all of this I called early this morning and left a message for Kristen one of the managers. Instead of calling me back she had Mary Grace do it because as Mary Grace said Kristen was too busy to talk to me. I understand now I am just a paycheck for the staff at dent. With a high deductible plan I get text messages and a phone call prior to any visit about the cost for "care" and to make sure I have money in hand. I know I'm just a number to Dent but I would have hoped that they see patients as actual people and not just as dollar signs

On that particular day, they didn't have anyone in to do it. So I called back on Monday and I was fine to come in. Everyone on the phones were friendly, check in was quick and easy, and I barely had to wait. It was nice and clean in there as well. No complaints here.

I walked in to. find staff with clipboards walking all over the place like waitstaff at a busy restaurant . Then I saw the signs saying CHECK IN and also Check Out . A bit like the check-in desks at a busy airport. I was checked in quickly and directed to take a seat in the waiting area . It was like a scene I experienced in crowded doctor's office in India many years ago. There had to be 40 people in the waiting area , all holding their clip boards and paperwork . Staff , with the obligatory clip board , walking in calling the first name of the next patient . I thought , this will be my last visit to this place. I waited 45 minutes to see my provider , not unusual these days . Staff led me to the examining room and I was amazed to see TWENTY examining rooms , I got room 9 . Eventually the Physiatrist came in, no long wait . Introduced himself , failed to introduce the presumed scribe that came in with him. I got the sense I was being rushed and in a conveyor belt experience. The doc did seem to be skilled and I will return and see what visit two is like . At check-out I was taken care of by someone whose name tag said "Director of Operations". He was very pleasant and quick . Good to see he was on the front lines working with the grunts .

After surgery, I continued to have pain and so I was sent every 2 to 3 months for knee injections which never helped. I kept asking for imaging and was told it's just how my knee healed. After Douglas retired. I asked why I was never given the option for Moore imaging and his nurse practitioner sent me for imaging. It turns out I needed a complete knee replacement so I did had Dr.Hlubik do my knee replacement. Days later, I went back to get my stitches out, and my leg was on fire. It hurts so bad . I was told it was normal . I told his PA Nolan I was going to the emergency room for imaging when I left the office . A half an hour later he called me to tell me to go to Windsong to get an ultrasound . Had to be poured on blood thinners because there were too large blood clots in my leg. From that point on I was completely forgotten about for a month. I kept calling and messaging my patient portal asking for physical therapy and nobody answered the patient portal and the women that answered the telephone would tell me there was never an authorization for PT. Finally my insurance company sent me the pre-op that was dated April 2025.! The same day the operation was authorized. Finally in August I was allowed to go to physical therapy. I got apologies up and down from a patient's advocate, and then Dr. Hlubik called me to apologize. I don't blame him entirely because it's his team that let me down.. I will forever beyond blood thinners because the blood clots are still in my leg. I was never able to return to my career for New York State.. which affected my retirement. And I don't know if anyone has checked lately but blood thinners run about $300 a month.. in case anyone's wondering I've had quite a few surgeries and never developed a blood clot and I was a very healthy 52 year-old woman when they started. I handed them a records release form and informed them that I already had an appointment with another Endo. I was home from that appointment for less than 2 hours and UBMD Endo called me and said that I had 'forgotten' to schedule the follow-up appointment. Um, no. I *told* you I was going elsewhere and would not be scheduling the appointment. Then *a different* person called me not even a full hour after that, and said that *they* forgot to schedule my follow-up. I had to tell that person, too, that I was not coming back there ever again. Good riddance. Please do not go here, ever. They're awful.

I have a complex history and an intern not appropriate!" They wanted to argue and I keep showing my list of diagnosed condition. I had 30 diagnosed conditions at that point and now 34! I left that appointment with blood boiling. Then the real fun started. I got notification that my health record had been uploaded. I have a lot going on and want to make sure correct. 80% of entered data was completely incorrect. They conflated current data with historical data, created conditions I did not have and left off ones I do and made a nonsensical health record. After MANY phone calls and portal messages they just made it worse! On top of all this you cannot contact "Dr of record" in portal. I had to do a browser search on her name, find her on UB Med school site and get her phone and email. I phoned and emailed and she refused to respond! I then went on to General Physians PC in May 2024. MUCH better practice. Children playing hospital do a much more admirable job of it!!

As promised, I wanted to update my review since having my emergency surgery here (my only surgery…read morehere). First things first, they got me into an ER immediately. I was worried they wouldn't take me seriously as I had level 10 pain a few weeks back and then it suddenly dropped to a 1 or 2 and I signed myself out. However, what was wrong that day, did turn out to be an a urgent matter - one that couldn't be addressed due to waiting on my insurance to approve it - and so, back to ER I went and found out I needed emergency surgery (which I had 13 hours later). I will admit, I cried a bit out of fear. The older I get, and the more I fall in love with life, the more fearful I get. I'm also a mom. Upon expressing my fears, a staff of the surgery team assured me that although this is new and scary to me, it is something that is performed everyday and nothing new for my surgeon and I'll be ok. When I was brought up for surgery, I was a bit loopy ... I hadn't slept and was taking some pain medication to get by. I started blabbering from this combo to the lady checking me in .. A LOT. She was absolutely gracious and patient listening to me, even leaning in a bit when I started to whisper a bit for privacy. I wish I knew her name for a more personal thank you haha. I don't even remember being brought in to surgery to be honest. I remember 2 anesthesiologists coming to ask some questions and the next thing I knew, I woke up in my original hospital room. The hospital was good at treating my pain which allowed me to finally sleep that night (I was also fortunate my roommate left, and the next patient went bizerk in regards to sharing a room ... it was a while scene ... so I had peace and quiet too). When I woke up in the morning, I was brought a hardy but low fat breakfast and it was good (French Toast!). Some hours later, I ordered lunch but I was wheeled out to my car before it arrived by a very nice young man who had excellent manners. I waited to write my review to see how I was recovering. I am 2 months post-op, had a follow up today, and I am doing well! Thank you so much to the wonderful, friendly, and efficient staff here at my neighborhood hospital! You are all doing an amazing job, from the check in desk on through. Surgery can be scary, but you all made my stay here as good as it could be.

This is actually one of the better ones surprisingly, and the building is standard, not pretty, but clean and adequate - the facility is not bad and the care that they provided for my roomie - without going into private specifics - was pretty good. She's my good friend and indeed I brought here on a number of occasions during the worst of her illness. But the whole system is broken and everybody knows it and it's just designed to take as much of our money as possible. And there seems to be no relief on the horizon. And no line on the Verizon either. Not unless you want to pay 400 a month and sh**.

Upon entering, you are greeted by the receptionist and a beautiful reception desk. Check in is a 2 step process where arrival confirmation is done at the front desk and completed immediately around the corner at one of the 2 registration areas. There are 2 separate waiting areas, depending on the procedure being done. Each is very clean, comfortable and well lit with plenty of seating. Each area has a television and some of the seating is arranged to allow for easy viewing. The pre and post surgical areas are also immaculate and the staff goes out of the way to ensure the patient's comfort and keep the well informed of what is going on. The entire staff from reception to intake to nursing is top notch, pleasant and professional. Their attitudes help to relax both the patient and accompanying family and make a sometimes unnerving situation easier to deal with. If possible and you're given a choice, choosing this facility is a smart move.
