Been here several times over the years and never thought to post a review. Service has always been good. Today the lady at the counter had a nice upbeat personality. The restaurant is always clean when I've gone. Food served always looking nice. Parking lot a bit small but I've never had a problem. The quality of the food is fine, never had a bad meal at any of the three Rigatoni's I've been to. It's nothing more than a place to get "Italian Style" semi-fast food, nothing fancy. Can't expect it to be the same level as a restaurant in any of the "Little Italy's" across America. It serves its purpose, quick tasty meal when craving Italian. Today I had salmon with pasta. This is the 2nd time Ive visited Rigatonis in the last few months and ordered Salmon and fettucini alfredo with a side salad. Amazing!!!! I dont know how they cooked their salmon (maybe with a special grill or baked) but somebody in that kitchen knows what theyre doing!! Cooked perfectly. Creamy sauce on al dente pasta. The restaurant was clean and bright. Bread was great too. The cake is so good!! I wonder who makes them! Thank you for a wonderful dinner again!!! read more

Food is not good unless you are really hungry. You order at the counter before you sit which is not the best experience. The service is good and the ambiance ok. You can spend a couple of more bucks and go to a place like Olive Garden instead. Minestrone was very bad and it looked old. I looked at, it and knew it wasn't not going to be good. We bought a pick-up order the 1/2 tray Spaghetti & Meatballs it was delicious. Staff is courteous. The place was full of people with a very long line ( it was Thursday 5:30 p,m) with one cashier taking orders and one other staff handling to go orders and they were working fast and efficiently. read more

Rigatoni's Hayward, very good! Food has lots of flavor. Was not over seasoned or heavy. I had the lasagna and some cheesy bread. They where both delicious! I also tried a slice of there lemon cake with a lemon cream filling and it was tasty also. I'd definitely recommend trying them out. Staff was friendly and great with recommendations also! read more

Travelling through the area, my daughter had a craving for pasta. We opened up the Yelp app and found Rigatoni's nearby. It was early and not crowded. She asked for artichokes and the girl at the counter said no, we only offer them as a topping. She looked at my daughter and said, wait, let me ask the chef. :-) So, he was happy to whip up a special order for us and it turned out to be very enjoyable. Bread bar was OK, the wine was fine, served in a rocks glass. My sausage and mushroom dish was as good or better than O.G. Would recommend for a casual dinner, first date or family night. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Rigatoni in Hayward. I'm sorry to report we didn't enjoy our dinner. I had Rigatoni Bolognese. What I got was the tubular pasta in a pale pink milk sauce with very little meat in it. It had little taste and I left a good portion of it there. My husband had chicken pesto with pine nuts. It had an adequate amount of chicken but little if any flavor. I dislike going to a sit down restaurant that serves salt and pepper in little paper packets. Even the Parmesan was served in little to go containers. A very disappointing meal. We won't be back. read more

It is my personal belief that you should never leave a restaurant hungry. That, I believe, is wrong. It is simply wrong. I left here STARVING. I ordered a ceaser salad to split with Billy, some garlic bread, and chicken parmigiana. The ceaser was the best part. That is not acceptable. It takes a lot to mess up a ceaser, and this was rough. The garlic bread was overcooked and seemingly stale. Yuck. Now I LOOOOVE me some carbs, but this bread was unforgivable. And chicken parmigiana is a staple that is not allowed to be bad at any self-proclaimed Italian restaurant. It's like a Chinese restaurant that can't do chow mein. It's a pizza place that can't do pepperoni. It's starbucks without coffee. You get the gist. The pasta was obviously precooked then warmed up, the chicken tasted spongy and similar to a lean cuisine. That is no overstatement. It was horrible. You should never be daydreaming about Taco Bell while eating at a restaurant. Huge disappointment. read more

My ex brought me to this place raving about how awesome the food and prices were when he used to frequent it a few years ago. So I came in with high expectations, but I left disappointed as the food wasn't that grand. The place decor is nice, ambiance was cool, and service on point; but there was something lacking that wow factor when you're done experiencing a new restaurant for the first time. The day we went we ordered the chicken and broccoli, the Italian & mushroom, and the chicken pesto pasta. I tried the three of them and everything was decent at its best description. The pesto sauce was good but the chicken on it was lacking seasoning. Thank God they have salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese on the tables 'cause that chicken in both plates was flavorless I'm pretty sure it was frozen. Both kind of breads, the one at the self served station, and the one that comes with the food were delicious though. You have to order your food/drinks at the cashier station and they will bring your food at your table. I am pretty sure if they were to seasoned the main ingredients in their pastas it would definitely make a big difference in their flavor. I wish I could've liked the food but the only reason of my three stars review is the service and ambiance of the place. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon though. read more

My wife and I were hungry so we stopped by. Big mistake the place is a dump. The staff don't care. I was id to use my debit card cuz I was wearing my baseball cap while the other Caucasian folks were not Asked for Id to use their debit cards. I tried to get the attention of the staff she looked at me ignored me and kept putting ice in her water jug at work. That's cool I guess. Chicken they use pretty gross with a nasty after taste. It's frozen breast meat from Costco or a whole dealer cut u to cubes. Their bread bars is full of stale nasty bread. Staff was friendly and greeted us at the entrance. I ordered the chicken Parmesan ($12.) Hubs ordered the Italian sausage fettuccini ($9.) We loaded up a bread basket and found a table. About 15 minutes later the waitress brought over dinner. Chicken Parmesan was pretty good. Seasoned and moist with pasta in a creamy sauce. Overall good. Since it was past the typical dinner time there wasn't many patrons maybe 4-5 tables occupied. The waitresses was refilling the bread baskets, condiment area and silverware. A modest little Italian restaurant - is the first impression I get upon entering. Tables are neatly arranged around the dining area (almost cafeteria-like) with an all-you-can-eat bread section with olive oil/vinegar and butter. They do not have waiter service. You look at a menu and then order at a register. It's a very simple place, but I really enjoyed my meal. I got the grilled chicken plate which came with a half serving of pasta. My friends got fettuccine with a creamy sauce and sausages. The dressings are VERY flavorful and creamy -- not watery in the slightest. My chicken was well cooked and juicy. The only downside is that it is very heavy and oily. This isn't a place for clean eating. I loved the bread basket -- I think we went back at least 4 times for more refills on bread. My meal was enjoyable and delicious. It wasn't too crowded so we could hear the big band jazz tunes playing in the background. I also really loved the decorations and art on the wall. It played well with the homey and cute Italian restaurant theme. I would definitely come back here for when craving comforting spaghetti and pasta (they also have seafood but I didn't try it). And it was served with the Famous Rigatoni Bolognese Pasta. The food came out quite fast. The Rib Eye was very good. Nice size portion and tender. I was expecting it to be chewy but was Wrong. Didnt even need A1 sauce. The fresh sauteed mushrooms went well with the steak. And for the Famous Rigatoni Bolognese Pasta, one word to decribe it would be - Delicious. Didnt know what was in it and didnt need to know. I just knew that I was one satisfied customer that day. I also tasted the Sghetti and oven roasted Meatballs. I do enjoy coming to the Hayward restaurant. It is clean and service is usually good. The soda carbonation is ON POINT (If u know, U know!). The food is decent but on the bland side. The meatballs were bigger pre-covid and 4 per dish, now it is 3. They also over sauce meals to the point where it is swimming. It's not my preference and the reason for the 3 star review. Other than that point, I think it's a good alternative to typical fast food options and MUCH cheaper than Olive Garden. 3.25 stars! read more

My mom gave me a gift card here, so I thought that I would check it out! As I first walked in I expected that there would be a waiter/waitress that would greet me and sit my friend and I at a table. But then I realized that you ordered at the register, in which they would give u a number. So the cashier was super friendly and the transaction was very smooth. So looking around for a table to sit at, I realized that this restraunt seemed very crowded with tables and chairs. I didnt want to sit in the middle, so we sat next to a wall at a two person table. I really enjoyed the bread bar with the variety of breads! The wait was decent for the food to come out. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. It was pretty good, considering that I was starving. I really liked the garlic aroma/flavor of the sauce as well. My friend had the lasanga and it was delicious as well. The portrotions were right, and the prices were decent. I would definately come back to this restraunt when I need another italian food fix! =P It think all should try this place out at least once. read more

Rigatoni's is a good alternative to a Olive Garden or similar. This is family owned and they have 2 other locations in the Bay Area. You order at the counter and they bring out your food to your table. Everything we ordered from the soup to the salad to the pasta was pretty good. My favorite was the chicken pesto. Delicious, inexpensive, fresh-cooked Italian food. You can even watch them make it, if you're inclined, since their burners are within view as you're ordering. It's basically Olive Garden quality but for less, and MUCH faster. Just had their Clam and Mushroom Risotto special and it was amazing, and it was only $10. They have a free bread bar where you can your bread with butter, olive oil, or balsamic vinegar. It's kind of a mix of fast food and sit-down restaurant with the speed, seating, and beverage self-serve options of the former but with the food delivery and quality of the latter. read more

Ordering from the party menu (for 8-10 people), we had the Italian sausage fettucine ($37) and the fettucine marinara ($27); white (alfredo) and red sauce, respectively. Hmm...maybe I'm not an Italian cuisine fan, but the alfredo sauce seems a bit too heavy. The marinara sauce was okay and much lighter in comparison. I think it's about the same quality as Olive Garden. The portion sizes were really substantial. The two trays were stacked on top of one another inside a cardboard box. I did not expect the thing to weigh so much. It was definitely more than 5 lbs and less than 10. Maybe I just need to work out more. =P read more

Came here for dinner because I went to the one in Castro Valley and thought it was pretty good. Super easy parking early in the evening. You order at the counter. Serve yourself fountain drinks. We had the special which includes a pasta dish, salad, and a drink. I had the rigatoni bolognese which was surprisingly good. It was a bit more creamy than I had anticipated. I also had a good Caesar salad. Bread bar was just OK, but nice to have. I've been here for lunch once before and was underwhelmed. Not much in the way of decor. I guess I enjoyed my dinner in the Castro Valley location because it was late at night. Doesn't look quite as charming during the day. But I thought the pasta was decent and so was the price. (Ex. fettuccine or spaghetti) I always substitute with the rigatoni pasta. I have tried all their cream sauce and I have loved them all. Bread Bar - I like their ciabatta bread the most. The other types are just so-so. Service: The service here is decent. They are usually pretty friend and professional. Although there are just some times that someone is in a bad mood and you can really tell by how they communicate with you.
