I've been going to Villa Roma for about 8 years now and it has been a hit or a miss. My first issue with them is their inconsistency with their pizza as it can be great one day and horrible the next. The last two times that we ordered from there my wife and I found that the pizza's just didn't taste right. After tasting each topping we found it was the olives. Something just isn't right with them and whomever is making the pizza's is just throwing them on there with the juice from the can they came from, making the entire pizza taste like a fowl briny bitter taste. My second issue which has put the nail in the coffin for us, is they are constantly trying to over charge you. This has been the issue from the beginning but since they were one of the only choices for pizza in Castro Valley we dealt with it. What I've seen is they will charge an astronomical amount of tax and when you question them on it, they just say oh it's tax. Last night I called them out on it as I was being charged almost 25% tax instead of the 9.25% for Alameda County. I asked the cashier how she came up with the total and she tried to explain it to me at which point I stopped her and said you are charging me approx 25%. She apologized and made the correction but had a attitude with me as if I did something wrong. I've also noticed in the past that their take out menu prices vary from the prices on their wall. My wife heard the owner tell a customer this when she picked up our pizzas before. So, all in all I don't feel like they deserve my business anymore because of their inconsistent product and shady business practices. read more

Best Pizza I have ever tasted. This has to be one of the best Pizza places in all of the Bay Area. I highly recommend this place, the pizza is always fresh, never kept hot, always made on the spot. Pizza is as good as it gets if you eat here, always delivered on time, even if you order large quantity. I once ordered 22 different kinds of Pizza for a big party, and all of the came on time, not a second late. All of the Pizzas were hot and absolutely delicious. I am eating the pizza right now and it's freaking amazing, I haven't gotten to the calzone or the garlic knots yet but I can only imagine that they're just as great as the pizza read more

When we went inside to pick up the food, there was a more updated menu -- we were only able to place a phone order on what we saw based on the menu images on Yelp. Little did we know there were more to choose from! Would love to try La Toreada or La Valiente.. They also have things like hot dogs, burgers, wings, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, tacos.. they have it all.. Would love to come back and try more. It's so close to where we live..
