During my visit, the place was pretty busy due to all the other people in town for the festival. And they had plenty of aged barleywines and stouts on the menu. My fave. Despite the busy room, it was really chill inside. The space is pretty huge. My second visit that week we bought a pizza from Pequod's and brought it here for our group to enjoy with the fantastic selection on tap. Instead of simply addressing the concern, the server argued with her at length, announced that she was the manager, and insisted that every pour was measured perfectly before finally replacing the glass. After that interaction, our large group was barely checked on, and we weren't even offered utensils. Considering how long we stayed and how much we collectively spent, the lack of hospitality was disappointing. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but the situation could have been resolved quickly with a little grace and professionalism.

However, Maplewood Brewery and Distillery has even more to offer than just some of the best beer in the city: incredible liquors and cocktails; fantastic food. We've been visiting Maplewood for almost a decade for amazing beer and, more recently, to sample the spirits. But tonight was the first time we tried the food. And WOW! The Wednesday night Burger, Beer, and Bourbon for $22 is a delectable steal. I loved every bite of the savory/filling food and every sip of each beverage! The building is spacious. Don't be deceived by the crowds out front on the patio, there is often plentiful seating inside in one of the two rooms, or at the bar. It is always clean, open, and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. They also have QR codes at the tables in case you want contactless ordering. Parking can be a challenge given the permitted street. If in doubt, ask the bartenders. They are always helpful when confirming if you parked in an open spot, or if you should move. We love Maplewood and are so glad we finally tried the food. We'll definitely be back again soon!
