Started with replacing the tank water heater. After having been told by two previous plumbers that I could not go tankless, which is what I've always wanted, Papa's said, "Oh yeah? Hold my beer and watch this." Full disclaimer- there was no beer. Happy with the quality of work, I decided to get a full repipe job with pex. Because I had copper and galvanized, a recipe for future destruction, they completed the job in just 3 days - whole house, 3 full baths, kitchen, yard, and laundry room. While not exactly the cheapest, in terms of actual value and time, they were the best choice. The customer service was also on a completely other level. They are the Nordstroms of plumbing. I called for a toilet flushing problem which quickly turned into a $2,000+ job, and then daily, they came to me with additional recommendations for gas work and other repairs that ultimately cost me $45,000. The work itself appears to be quality work, and the technicians were professional and personable. My issue is with the sales process. As a new homeowner, I relied heavily on their recommendations. Looking back, I was being sold a new major project every day. After recently reviewing my home inspection report and speaking with SoCal Gas, I realized that none of the work addressed the primary issue that had been flagged during my home inspection. In fact, some of their reasonings for doing work weren't even legit. (For instance, gas leaks ruining the water pipes). Maybe the work they did was beneficial. Maybe some of it was necessary. But unfortunately, I felt pressured into making expensive decisions on the daily while already dealing with previous costly recommendations. And unfortunately for me, they don't prioritize issues. Interestingly enough, and what's most disappointing is, the issue that the inspector mentioned wasn't even brought up until the last day. But that was 27,000 more. On top of 45,000?! I couldn't believe how I got swept up in this. I might as well have been flushed down a toilet. I was spinning. In hindsight, I should have never let them do the first job. If you're a homeowner--especially a new one--get a second or third opinion before approving major work. And even when I replied to an email to halt the work, they didn't receive it. They don't make it easy to contact them. I'm sure there's a reason for this. Also, if you're expecting an itemized breakdown of your expenses, they conveniently do not do this, either. (And just so you know, I was offered a free Starbucks gift card for leaving a five-star review. I chose honesty and my Keurig instead.) But nice people. Skilled workers. This is a review for estimate only. We did not have repair work done. We called to get an estimate for what seemed like a fairly straightforward repair of a leak. It turned into suggestions for major repairs including replacing all of our home's plumbing for roughly $31,000. Needless to say we got a second opinion from another reputable local plumber & we do not in fact need new plumbing. He is able to fix the original problem & replace our pressure regulator for $1000. We had the good fortune of having Elias Flores as the lead plumber to handle a few simple repairs: clogged bathtub, clogged kitchen sink, and a damaged toilet fill seal. He was able to correct all of these problems and clean up the mess that was caused by the backups. Elias kept my wife informed of the progress on the jobs and provided assistance to a relative living in the house on how to avoid future problems. Unfortunately, there was even bigger problems lurking beneath the 100+ year old house that if not get corrected would continue to lead to a repeat of the backups. In short, the waste/sewer lines were in such disrepair and damage that the portion under the house as well as the main line leading to the City sewer would have to be replaced. Elias proceeded to formulate a step-by-step plan to correct the problem and discussed each step with my wife at length so that she would have a thorough understanding of the process. He also sent us photos of the work as well as videos from the camera used to map out and validate the scope of work that was necessary.
