Visited Riley & Jake's for the first time recently on a pretty busy night and enjoyed our food and time there. We met the owner and he was super friendly. We had a very nice waitress (Anna) who was helpful in making suggestions too. We tried the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and I really liked the crunch along with the flavor of the sauce. I had the Brie and bacon burger (retrospectively I sort of wish I had tried the pretzel burger). My burger was cooked well and as requested. My spouse had the buttermilk chicken sandwich - and he liked it (he hopes to try the crab cakes when we visit again). My one suggestion (if possible in that space) is that they might add a few seats up front for those who might need to wait a while for a table - though it does seem you may be able to go to the bar if you want to wait there and sometimes you can get served a meal faster if you eat at a table in there too. Overall, a quaint family-feel type of place that I would visit again.

Foods are great and good as well as the place. First timer in this place and was amazed with everything. Huge place, well mannered staffs, ample parking lot and our server Diane was superb. She did take care of us very well. Thank you Diane. Ambiance is wonderful. Definitely will be back with the family and friends.

Finally made to Riley & Jake's. They offer classic pub fare and they're well known for their jerk wings so we came to give them a try. They were very tasty and are a nice size but not a real traditional jerk flavor. I'd definitely come back to try out the buffalo style. I LOVED the presentation of the chopped salad and appreciated the frizzled onions on top. It came out nice and cold. My husband enjoyed the French onion soup. Our kids are obsessed with that soup so we plan on bringing them back whenever they get a craving. Our waitress was very friendly and our food came out quickly. My only complaint is that the place needs an update on the interior. I realize it's an older building but the decor and lighting looks to be from the early 80s. Could be nostalgic to some but it's a turn off for me.

Came here last night to take a friend out for her Birthday! The place has a cool vintage vibe about it. Our server was friendly and awesome! I had the Turkey w stuffing and mashed potatoes while my friend had the black bean burger. After dinner we shared the flourless chocolate cake! All of the food was served in a timely fashion and was delicious. I look forward to coming back again and would recommend this place!

There is new ownership recently, and they kept much of the original menu as well as adding some new dishes. Recent experience wasn't great... Service really suffering, took 20 minutes to get our first drink. Also - the cocktail pours are extremely light for what they are charging. Food was OK... Pizza has always been very good here but recently they just don't seem to season it at all. Two of us ordered the fish of the day @$39...small piece of cod, and just four pieces of potato ...meaning two small potatoes cut in half...and mine was actually missing the sauce. I'm not sure how that dish leaves the kitchen in a restaurant that is supposed to be of high caliber. They need to do better.

We had a 7 PM reservation on a Wednesday night, and the place and parking lot were packed! Good sign to start! To begin, I enjoyed the Ruby grapefruit mocktail. Although I'd love trying new and unique cocktails at different establishments, I was in the mood for something light and refreshing and nonalcoholic. This hit just a spot. For food, we started off with the margherita pizza to share. Then, I opted for the crispy, buttermilk chicken sandwich with malt vinegar, potato wedges/fries. It was very delicious. The sandwich was crispy and fresh and the bun looked like it was handcrafted. The malt fries were unique because they had a vinegar powder on them. I've never tasted malt vinegar before, and it was a unique texture. Our waitress was very friendly, but I wish she had been a bit more attentive. She only stopped by to ask us for our drink order, our food order, and to give the check. My friends wanted to order more drinks, but because she did not come around as frequently as we would have liked, they were unable to place another order. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, however, because the restaurant was bustling from start to finish. Overall, very nice setting and meal. Cute decor, including an Anthony Bourdain abstract portrait.

Wasn't sure how many people we'd be, but the place looked big enough. It wasn't. Not for the crowds of people stuffing Cryan's on Saturday night, drinking at the bar, eating at the tables. Clinton doesn't have as many people as Cryan's did that night. Incredible. So we put our party down to a 40-minute wait. Time went on, a few people left, a few drinks happened, and finally the rest of us got a table together. Minus for service - the waitstaff was not very friendly to our group; granted, we were forced to stand due to lack of seating, but they didn't give us any helpful tips or any sympathy. Drinks were just "are you ready?" and then handed out. Food experience went a little bit better. The food itself was fine, mostly because none of us ordered pizza. It's bar pies here - super-thin crust, comes out crispy, which may be your thing but it's not mine. The onion rings look fantastic - huge, but with a lot of breading, and I didn't have enough of an appetite to down that by myself. I ended up on the Baslick Burger, ordered rare, and it actually came out pleasantly close to rare. Other people's came out to their order as well (medium and well, one with a subbed side). Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad. Same for the fries. All in all? It was an experience. But not one to walk into blind. Maybe if I was local I'd go on a low-volume night, otherwise I'll stick to some less crowded vibes.

I was seated right away and ordered the chicken Caesar salad with tortellini and a cup of coffee. The coffee arrived in what can only be described as a personal vat, which I appreciated. And the portions are HUGE. My salad could have comfortably fed three people. Fortunately, I am a big believer in tomorrow's lunch. The food was good, the service was quick, and there is something comforting about knowing that no matter what time it is, someone in Clinton, New Jersey is prepared to serve you an enormous plate of food and an unreasonable amount of coffee. Three stars instead of four or five because, at the end of the day, it's still a diner. But if you're craving comfort food, passing through town, or awake at 2 a.m. wondering what to do with yourself, this is exactly where you go.

My gf has been meaning to come here with me for a good year and we decided we'd go after a trip out of town. The diner is a fair ways out in an odd spot but seems to get steady traffic ranging from regulars and new comers just from experiences from customers during my visit. This diner appears to have won awards and has a few challenges for customers to partake in for cash prizes which i find interesting. The restaurant is well kept considering how old it is but also has a stationary train cart that's part of the restaurant. The vibe for this diner is nicer compared to most i've been to and is open 24 hours. When choosing breakfast we went with something simple. My gf got the waffle combo that came with eggs, ham, sausage, toast and a fairly sized belgian waffle and she cleaned the plate. her mother had the 2 eggs breakfast plate with your normal breakfast fixing and i had the farmers omelette. diving a little into the farmers omelette it was visually appealing but slightly on the flavorless side and i wanted to wait to put salt on it to see if it could go without but after 3 bites i threw on some salt and pepper. the wheat toast had some flavor to it but the bread crust made it a little tough. overall we finished our plates full and sated but i wasn't wowed. service was good and the food came out fast. This diner isn't bad but it's hard to say when i'll be back as there are a bunch of diners out here to try!
