We go here. OFTEN! We can walk here from our home so it's super convenient. So today we walked in, waited about 10 minutes for a table for 4 & a dog. The couch table cleared and I let the hostess know we were open to sitting there only to be told a party of 6 arrived after we were on the wait list and she was saving that table for them. EVEN though we arrived before them. I had her remove our name off the list and we promptly walked down the street to another restaurant. We will no longer be customers there. There are tons of dining options in Sutter. Why would I give a business that treats customers the way we were treated today my business? Asked and answered. This was the first time we went and we ordered 12 garlic parm wings, the cheesesteak sandwich and the quesa birria tacos. Our server was amazing she was on top of it with our drinks, got our orders in quick and the food came out quick also....maybe too soon for the chicken wings because we both got sick last night before even making it home and the only thing we shared were the wings. The tacos tasted more cheese than birria it felt like but the flavors were amazing. The location has a nice indoor and outdoor seating area. The heaters outside are a little overwhelming and hot but we scooted to the far end of the table and it seemed to help. Not sure if we will be back or not with the way the chicken wings did us dirty. read more

We have tried several of this Guys restaurants... they all have a very similar menu with some twists , the food is Good, the Happy Hour is great with the Barria Tacos and the fluatas ... not a great beer selection the Ahi Poke Tuna Tacos were our fav... quite a mush mash of offerings...interesting we will see what Sutter street gives it come Summer crowds... great outdoor patio though! read more

Visited on Cinco de Mayo. Server was friendly, but seemed overworked and didn't check in much - we waited a long time to get his attention. Most of the drinks were good. The Cuban (similar to mojito) was not good (soapy tasting) and we sent it back. Yes, was that bad. The burgers were tasty, but I asked for medium rare and got well done, as did everyone else. The food is great different from your normal American style food! Very chill environment for a Saturday afternoon! One thing that just blows my mind though is that we asked them to make a BLT for our little guy because we noticed they had all the ingredients on the menu and they refused because there was no way to ring it up even when I offered to pay extra! It just crazy to me! But the food is great so we stay. Just don't ask for anything if it's not on the menu, even though it would take seconds to make. To top it off when he made a different decision on something else to eat they got his order incorrect and took the whole meal away not leaving the correct parts for him to eat with his family. It took them a whole extra 25 minutes to bring out his food again when it was just a simple switch of fries to tater tots. Our server was amazing it wasn't her fault that management wouldn't accommodate, and that the kitchen sent out the wrong food. read more

Ate at the bar. Room is cool in temp, bar is not sticky, and the purse hooks are a plus. I'm glad the seats are not crowded together also. Ordered the Turkey pesto burger with side of potato salad. The potato salad was heavy with vinegar and mustard. Couldn't finish it. The turkey burger patty was well seasoned. Tasted of fresh turkey and herbs, almost like thanksgiving dinner. The vinegar sauce was tasty, and melted provolone a nice touch. Those were the main flavors profiled when eating the burger. Didn't really taste the pesto or feta. Rileys has always been a favorite for my boyfriend and I. Every week after deciding what restaurant to go to... we of course land on Rileys every time! Last night was our weekly date night and of course we landed at our favorite spot (per usual:) This time we met our server Cheryl for the first time... very sweet and welcoming! We especially found her service impeccable when I found myself choking on my dinner (apparently it was my first time eating) and Cheryl came to the rescue! She quickly gave me a water with a little straw and had me take gradual sips. At what felt like my last breath, she swooped in to help! Me and some of girlfriends went opening day last night and it was awesome! The happy hour menu had a ton of great food and cocktails to choose from. We ordered the sliders, chicken tenders and tater tot nachos for dinner and each got different cocktails, my favorite was The Big Pear. It was fall in a cup! We came to try out the onion rings after a few Yelpers raved about them. Yes, they are amazingly crunchy and not greasy like traditional beer battered rings. They were so delicious, I practically ate all of the rings all by myself. Fortunately, the Harvest Salad was super delicious too, so I managed to get in something healthy. Husband got the burger with fries, and our son ordered the Spartan Pizza. Both of them enjoyed their meals too. It's a great place to chill outside in the sunshine, overlooking historic Folsom. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building, so we didn't feel like we were eating in the parking lot. Our server was awesome. She was friendly, efficient, and kind. I have been here a couple times now and have nothing but good things to share! It was pretty toasty outside but my boyfriend and I sat on the patio and they had the misters on so the temperature was perfect. The food was amazing! We ordered the spicy chicken & waffle bites for an appetizer and it was delicious. The chicken was juicy and the sauce it comes with is super tasty. I forgot to take a picture of the rest but I got the generals grande burrito with Birria beef. The flavor of the meat was perfect and went well with everything else that comes in the burrito. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib cheesesteak with no horseradish and initially it was served with the horseradish. After letting our waitress know though, she immediately took it back and put in a new order without hesitation. I believe her name was Laurie but I'm not positive. She's a wonderful server, very bubbly, positive attitude, warm, and welcoming. Hoping we get her area again next time! He loved the sandwich and we will definitely be coming back soon :) read more

Went to Riley's with my husband for my birthday on 11/30. We should have known it was going to be bad when on the way to our seats we overhear a women ask a server if their waitress has forgotten about them. This was the second time we have been here and the first was not the greatest. On that trip a few months ago our waiter happened not to hear my order, so I ended up with only an appetizer and a margarita for dinner that night. Mistakes happen, and the appetizers were decent so we thought we'd try again on my birthday since we really love the outdoor patio. We ask to be seated outside if the heater can be turned on since it was really chilly - the waitress says no problem and seats us, but fails to turn the heater on - no big - so just keep our jackets on since its only about 55 degrees out. There are only four other medium sized groups of people on the patio and four to five open tables along with my husband and myself, so it was not very busy like it was the last time we were there. Then we wait -and wait- and wait for a server to come turn the heater on and take our drink order. While we wait, servers are seemingly everywhere coming in and out, and taking out the trash, popping in and out of the little outdoor booth they have there on the patio doing who knows what. Not a single one of them ever come to take our order or even acknowledge us in the 20+ minutes we're sitting there. We finally give up and leave to go have a wonderful dinner at BJs. Riley's - get it together! You have a great location and great food but you're going to tank unless you train your staff on CS. We would have stayed and waited had we just been acknowledged. read more

This was our first trip to "Riley's on Sutter". Upon arrival we were greeted and immediately seated by the host. I actually liked the decorations and the ultimate vibe as it felt like a bar/grill and seemed to fit in well with Sutter St. We were really excited to try the new restaurant and new menu. Unfortunately, we sat at a booth for 14 minutes without anyone checking in on us, bring any water, bring utensils, or taking any orders. There were several servers and I attempted to make eye contact to get help with no luck as they were standing together at the bar. We decided to leave and went to Pizzeria Classico on the 1st floor, where we were immediately greeted and had our appetizers, drinks, and 3 pizzas in about 25 minutes. We had a great experience there. We had been to Hacienda Del Rio before it was Riley's on Sutter twice. We unfortunately had bad experiences both times that included long wait times, not checking in, rude server, and 3 wrong orders during one sitting. We wanted to give this place another shot, however we did not get the basic hospitality service any restaurant should provide. When it was Hacienda, the food was ok. Our issue was with the lack of good customer service. Unfortunately after 3 visits to this location, we won't be coming back. Looking at other reviews, I anticipate the owner to angrily respond and fail to admit the flaws or simply having the ownership and willingness to look into the matter. I will also say that the owner "Michael" using mental illness as a way to degrade those that post is extremely shameful, unacceptable, and unprofessional. We hope the best for this place and we're happy other people had good experiences, but we felt invisible and not welcome. Oh well, thankful there's other restaurants that do not disappoint. read more

When I heard Hacienda was closing originally I was hoping it would be a place just like this, but ended up being a 2.0. It was a great improvement over the original, but still not to my taste. The location is optimal for when I have friends or family over visiting for a nice cocktail and good meal. Finding out that hacienda 2.0 was closing was sad, but when I saw the menu and theme for Riley's, I knew that this would be a go to place. I went to opening weekend to watch the Sunday night football. I got the blue burger and onion rings, came out super fast and were a perfect temp. They were busier than I ever saw hacienda, and the staff all seemed so happy upbeat and in good spirits. Maybe all of us folsom-ites were extra nice, maybe it was because they liked who they worked for, or maybe it was because they really enjoyed there job. I'm not sure, but I do know I will be back, and frequently. Also a little bit of a shout out to Emilee' and Zia they had me cracking up all night.
