Celebrating Chinese New Year with my son and took advantage of the CNY menu and was very happy and satisfied. My son also ordered lobster fried rice and some sushi which both were delicious. It's been awhile since I've eaten here and I am impressed with the menu. Granted it has been about 7 years since the last time eating here for the only reason being there are other great restaurants here that compete. I loved the long life noodles and really loved the sea bass. Nicely spiced with scallions and ginger. Service was very fast. They were very busy on a Saturday night. We ate in the annexed area and it was pleasantly quieter.

My group decided to eat here since it's inside of GSR which an event we were going to was hosting so for ease of planning we made a reservation for this place. The main restaurant is tucked in a corner so there's not a lot of tables which is why they opened another section, across the way to accommodate bigger groups like mine. The restaurant itself was fine, decorated nicely and service was ok. I didn't think it was a crazy night but we didn't get checked on often which led us to not having any refilled water. The food wasn't great, I hate to say it. Seemed to be overpriced for what we got. The quality and taste was mid but the portions are generous. So don't set your expectations too high and I think you'll be fine. Also don't be fooled into upgrading your rice to fried rice. Multiple people in our group did upgrade and we had to share a small plate of fried rice. As opposed to keeping the steam rice where we each had our own portion. So overall thoughts, come here but know you're not getting stellar food and you're going to pay a premium for having the restaurant being conveniently located but it's nothing to rave about unfortunately.

So we have been here before, and they put us in some room away from the restaurant...and the food was just OK. We were here for a Saturday comp, and decided we would give this one more try...I am glad we did this. This time they put us in the main restaurant, and it was so much better! We ordered two big Sapporos to start...I thought these were fairly priced...we were not terribly hungry so we split an order of beef chow fun and asked for it spicy. This was very good and plenty of food for us. I thought the beef was plentiful and the dish was very tasty. Our server was very good and seemed to not be bothered by our small order, especially on a Saturday night.

Rim has been a staple in GSR for as long as I can remember though it's a struggle to understand why if the experience is consist with my own. Best aspect is that it's fairly well decorated, it's a clean aesthetic with a little Asian inspired flair. Unfortunately service can only be described as waiting. Every step of the dining process was more waiting than it was enjoying food or receiving menus/checks. I think it took about 2 hours to make it through a quick app and entree meal. Food was equally disappointing with the Kung Pao Chicken lacking any semblance of pow and hardly distinguishable from just corn syrup in taste and consistency. Shockingly the green beans were cooked excellently with a satisfying crunch but was accompanied with very gray beef. Overall it was too long and too much for too little experience.

Given the reviews I didn't expect much.... However I was very surprised at how good my Rim fried rice was and the price was very fair (24$) for not only a casino but the portion was shareable. The pork was a tad bit fatty and sweet but I loved the shrimp. I was with three girlfriends that preferred sushi and they ordered four rolls all of which they enjoyed. Golden gate, snow mountain, lion king, and mango tango. One sake which my friend said was just fine and one raspMary martini which I tried It wasn't bad. I saw them making some good looking virgin Mojitos with lavender in them. I wish I would have tried one. We sat at the bar outside the restaurant so no notes for inside. The two girls working in the Bar handled it well for as busy as it was for a country concert weekend and a volleyball tournament weekend. Food came out pretty fast. Locals discount. Gluten free items clearly marked (so helpful!!) I hope the rice tastes the same because I will be back for that.

This was our first time here with a group of four adults and two children (ages 10 and 7). The restaurant was very crowded on a weekend night, but we were able to get a reservation for 8 PM. Our table wasn't ready right away, and we were offered seats at the sushi bar, which we declined, so we waited a bit. I'm not a huge sushi fan compared to the rest of our group, so we didn't go for the unlimited sushi option--but it was absolutely worth it! We ordered a variety of dishes: the sashimi was fresh, the desserts were delicious ( Ube white chocolate cheese cake and mochi ice cream), and the service was top-notch. I even tried several sushi rolls though I forgot some of the names, and ended up liking them too. I added lots of pictures to capture everything. Overall, everything was great, and we had a wonderful experience.

Food was Ok, not very exciting compared to the price. Service was fast but they missed bringing ginger and small bowls for mixing soy sauce and wasabi. We received our sushi plates and wondered if they donot serve it. When we asked the server apologized and brought it. Good thing about ordering Mochi ice cream is that you get multiple flavors- mango, strawberry and chocolate. They were out of coconut chocolate parfait so we ordered Ube white Chocolate cheesecake. It was alright. Ambiance was good with dim light and beautiful light pendants hanging from the ceiling. This place is good for eating sushi, if either you are staying at GSR or at the casino and do not want to drive up to a different location for food.

I usually do not patronize the venues on Restaurant Row at GSR however the other evening, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Beef Chow Fun and I was not disappointed, it was rather good. The Asian ambience was very well done and inviting and my server Clayton was great.

Alexander was our amazing server. He was friendly, attentive, approachable and respectful. He checked up on us and recommended us some things on the menu. The general chicken was cooked to perfection. There was a perfect meat to batter ratio and the sauce was delicious. The Rim beef chow fun was also our favorite. The beef was tender and flavorful. Ambiance was quiet and relaxing - lights were dim and music was low. Highly recommended - food was amazing and staffs are fantastic

I think this place is pretty average compared to all the other sushi places Reno has to offer. It wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out to me. For $41, you can definitely have a better experience at another place with more variety and better tasting fish. They only offered all you can eat at the sushi bar (no tables) and it's not available on Friday or Saturdays. Having a party of 5 made it hard to have a conversation when sitting at the bar.

Flavor for each food plate or bowl is very authentic and tasty. However the Korean bbq ribs were not that meaty. Too much fat around the meat. Chow main was ok, I didn't take a picture because I took it to go. It just, I don't know the long wait to get a waitress was a very long wait. Soups are really good

All the food tasted great, everyone was able to choose something they liked from the restaurant's vast selection of entrees. I was really pleased that the restaurant had started slicing their sushi thinner, that way I can sample a variety of the food but not get full too quickly but more importantly, not waste food. The banh xeo I'm giving a 6/10 because the it wasn't crispy but the meats was good and it was large. It came with lettuce and herbs. Shrimp and lobster sauce was good that was 8/10. The menu is humongous. Dim sum, Chinese, sushi, Vietnamese, with lots of choices from every part of the menu. I started with the crab Rangoon's, and they were very good. The filling was a little bit sweet, and a little bit savory, and the shell was well fried, crispy, and not oily at all. They were offering a BOGO on the combination plate, and so that's what I went for. I had the garlic chicken, and the chicken with seasonal. Veggies. On both dishes, the chicken was moist and tender. The veggies were done well. Just the right consistency, not mushy at all. The taste was great. The only thing I could say, was, the garlic chicken was a bit spicy. About medium on what I like for spice, you could definitely see the red pepper flakes on that food. Unfortunately, nowhere in the menu did it mention the spicy part of it. I did like it, and the spice was within what I like, but I think the next time I would order something else. The fried rice was very well done with a good flavor also. It was just the rice. It had no egg or veggies in it. I had enough for two meals on the first combo, and the second one went into my portable cooler, and is going home to Sacramento with me. For all I got, the price was extremely reasonable, even if I would've gotten only one combination. Thank you very much.

It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. The restaurant is located on a street where there was very limited parking in front and all the rear parking is super dark so bring your night vision goggles. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
