    Odd but pretty damn good
    Jason C.

This little cafe inside the High Desert Museum is putting out some decent eats. The simple and basic Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich was fresh and healthy. Loved the peppered bacon along with the avocado and cheddar and was glad to see it on whole wheat bread. A healthy size portion of super crunchy onion rings with ranch made for the perfect lunch. The younger cashier recommended the Huckleberry Ginger cider by Bend Cider Co. Not normally into ciders but this refreshing combo hit the spot. Kids had the Chicken flavored Dinosaurs (chx nuggets). Was glad to see their fries were more like JoJos and that they offered sweet potato fries too. Meals came with a drink and were affordable hot food in a museum. Overall, the Rimrock cafe was a welcome surprise to our 1st time visit to the High Desert Museum.

    Excellent grilled salmon salad

So glad to have found this wonderful spot for lunch inside the high desert museum! We both ordered salads. My husband had the seared ahi tuna and I had the grilled salmon. Both were excellent. I highly recommend stopping in here for lunch if you're spending a half-day at the museum.

I got a cold brew, which was good and I have no complaints about my drink. where they went wrong (or maybe i did for ordering it) was the breakfast sandwich which was one step up from a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich, but with the price tag of $7. The bread they use for it was the most off putting part, if they put it on a bagel or something else it would feel more worth the price. overall decent experience but wouldn't recommend and not in a hurry to return. if this coffee shop was a person it would be a woman who wears a lot of makeup and is objectively beautiful and isn't rude, but has a very bland/boring personality.

Fox and Fern has hit all of these on the head. The space itself was so cute and welcoming. If you're a journal-er, this place is the place. The playlist could have literally been from my Spotify. I had a cup of drip coffee, and they carry Dapper & Wise, a personal fav of mine. Not to mention, the dairy free oat milk creamer was free with purchase! It's a big place, and it had a lot of folk, but even still there were fun places to sit. If I lived in town, this place would be a common favorite.

I have always gone to…read morethe original location in Sisters, but today I tried the little one in the Old Mill and it was a great mini version! I wanted to get a t shirt and was happy to see they had a great selection of merchandise. I didn't need another coffee, but succumbed to an oat milk latte while I was checking out. It's been awhile since I've had coffee from here and I had forgotten how delicious and potent it was! Perfection every time and always friendly service. The shop is very aesthetic with natural light, murals and local artwork. If you're opposed to driving all the way to sisters, this location is a great way to get your fix from the comfort of town.

The staff was very polite and genuinely seemed like they enjoy their jobs and are treated well. I enjoyed the quirky options, and the unique flair, without it feeling like a complete joke like some coffee, shops back home. I had the north herbal tea, which is probably the best tease. I think I've ever had. Definitely a nice surprise and a good way to start the day. I was sipping on it for a while because I didn't wanna down it all at once and just wanted to enjoy it. There was a reasonable amount of seating space inside, but we chose to sit outside while it was cool. When we're back in the area, we definitely wanna come back here. Thanks for the memories!

Some mornings just stick with you. I walked into Backporch Coffee Roasters craving something…read moredifferent, and left genuinely impressed. The vibe here is modern and minimal -- clean lines, local art on the walls, airy space that feels both calm and alive. I ordered a 16 oz matcha latte and a honey-lavender latte (because why pick just one?). Total came out to about $12.25 each for the largest size. Yep, a little pricier than your corner coffee spot, but honestly worth it. Both drinks were smooth and balanced -- the matcha was creamy, not bitter at all, while the lavender latte had that perfect floral hint without overpowering the coffee. Bonus: the latte art heart on top was simple but done with care, which tells you a lot about the barista. And speaking of service -- the barista was the highlight. Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to suggest a roast I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. That level of confidence and genuine warmth elevates the entire experience. Now, a small caveat: there's no restroom inside. They'll give you a code for the one just behind the wall -- super clean and convenient once you know, but still something to keep in mind if you're planning to hang out. Overall? 5 stars, easy. Pricey, sure, but you're paying for quality, atmosphere, and people who care. If I could give 6 stars for service, I would. I'll be back for sure.

I…read moresaw that Backporch Coffee Roasters had a honey lavender latte that caught my eye, so I stopped by to try one. The space inside is well designed, there is plenty of seating and this would be a great place to get some work done. The service here was solid. I hate to say this though, but the honey lavender latte (with an oat milk substitute) wasn't doing it for me. The coffee tasted really watered down. It lacked depth and didn't taste like coffee that would come from a brick-and-mortar store. This review is purely based off the one cup I ordered. I wish I had more of a sample size to base my review off.
