RUN, DON'T WALK TO RINA! This new Israeli street food restaurant directly off the belt line at Ponce City Market is worth the hype. Go immediately! The wait can get long, so I would recommend calling ahead or getting reservations. The space is pretty small, located in the Ford Factory shops, but the location is prime. For food, we got hummus #3 with butternut squash and harissa, the amba chicken platter, the arayas pita, and both milkshakes spiked with rum. We LOVED everything we got - but the amba chicken was UNFORGETTABLE. This is the dish I am definitely getting upon returning! The chicken was so tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly with carmelized onions, green onions, peppers, and rice. There was a taste of sweetness to the Middle Eastern flavors that I could not get enough of. I cannot even imagine how tasty the other platters are. We were so full, so we only drank about half of our spiked milkshakes, but the flavors were good. We preferred the Turkish Coffee milkshake over the Tahini, Honey, and Dates milkshake, since that tasted more like vanilla. Be warned - these shakes are definitely more decadent! There are other ingredients (milk, sugar, cream) in addition to the ingredients on the menu. This is definitely dessert! TL;DR: delicious israeli food in an upscale and casual way right off of the beltline east side trail near ponce Now I haven't been to Aziza or Falafel nation (although I have been itching for food from those two), I was extremely excited that they have a sister restaurant on the east side trail! I am jewish and have been to israel twice so I can be sorta snobby about israeli food (also own the cookbooks of Alon Shaya of Saba in New Orleans and of Michael Solomonov of Zahav in Philly - both of these israeli chefs have won James Beard Awards). We were greeted warmly with a Shalom from our waiter. The hardest part was figuring what to order! Their mezze dishes were delicious and honestly you could get 5 or 6 to share with people or 3-4 for a meal with pita. I got the shawarma pita and my sister got the hummus topped with ground beef. We both enjoyed our meals and this was probably the best hummus I've had in atlanta. ThhThe pita was really good but unlike Alon Shaya's Saba in New Orleans, the pita are not baked in house - still way fluffy and delicious pita from Rina. They also have a delightful drink menu including frozen cocktails and cocktails on draft made with arak (an Israeli liquor like ouzo). They also have goldstar beer from israel! I did not partake in drinks but I will in the future. Also, my sister said this was the best meal she's had in a while (and honestly I agree) - and she's a tough judge. I believe it's the same owner as Aziza and Falafel Nation. Loved everything we ordered, Chicken Shawarma, beef Kebab, hummus. Also tried the Turkish coffee shake, strong coffee taste without the bitterness. Very nice. Very friendly staff and nice ambiance. Decor is a mix of Aziza's sophistication and Falafel Nation's laid back Israeli style. It was very crowded and busy on a Friday night. I was a little disappointed since we weren't able to try their food! We ordered our food as well as, $75 in adult beverage...to then be told they were out of steak, then told they did not have ANY food at all! Not really sure how that works?! We payed for our drinks, but would have reconsidered if we knew we would have to then go to a different restaurant to eat! Kind of nonsensical if you ask me! New fave Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food spot! Their ability to put together a bowl with such diverse and complimentary flavors is just unbelievably good!! They're located in the strip mall by the new Kroger (that replaced Murder Kroger) and there's ample outdoor lot parking. I ordered their falafel salad. I'm used to salads being really meh, and the falafel overpowering everything. I just want to say that every single bite was delightful, and filled with a variety of textures and flavors. The crispy chickpeas were spectacular, and the tahini dressing strikes an excellent balance between vinagrettes (which I find to be too runny) and creamy dressings (like Ranch and Thousand Island that I think are way too thick and overpowering to eat a sizeable amount of salad with). It was well worth the price, and was too much food for me to finish at once, so I had leftovers! Pro tip, get this to go and take it on the beltline or to piedmont park to enjoy. This is a casual restaurant off the Beltline and adjacent to Murder Kroger. It's across the Beltline from Ponce City Market. There is a small parking lot that is free next to the building, but if it's full you could park at PCM and walk across the Beltline. The serving staff shared duties and were lovely. We had Hummus No 2 with the butternut squash and it was fresh and flavorful with a nice hint of sweetness from the squash. That probably could've come with more than 4 pita triangles. The steak was cooked about medium and had excellent seasoning. The cucumber side was unexpectedly one of my favorite sides. We had the chicken shawarma over rice which was also tasty. These three items were filling to split between two people. They have a nice small drinks menu with cocktails and the tequila one was balanced and refreshing. I'd definitely go back to try more of the sides, enjoy the patio on a nice day to get takeaway for a Beltline picnic. read more

My review is for one carry out experience, but I have to say that I cannot wait to return to Rina for sit-down dining! This area is def lacking in Middle Eastern food options and I am always excited when a new place pops up. I have run past Rina a bazillion times on the BeltLine, so when I was hangry shopping at Kroger, I decided to run over for a carry out at Rina. I went in to order a chicken shawarma pita, which only took about 10 min for them to prepare! The pita was served with pickled veggies. The place in general is very charming and perfect for dates. The inside is nicely decorated and there is plenty outdoor seating as well. I went in a large group and the manager was very attentive making sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the beef kebob and the tahini shake which were both out of this world. The kebob was one of the best I've ever had because of all the flavors that paired perfectly. We ordered a hummus plate with falafel for an appetizer and enjoyed it quite a bit. Falafel were a bit salty, but otherwise pretty tasty and authentic. Hummus plate was very good and was a nice start to the meal. For our meal, we had a shawarma pita and a sabich pita. Both were okay, but the main part of each was a bit overwhelmed by the accompaniments. The shawarma didn't taste like it was cone spit roasted like it is traditionally, but the spices were good. I have walked by Rina on the Beltine before and noticed the patio but thought it was too crowded and didn't stop. The restaurant actually has a dining area inside that is very cute and quiet. From the Beltine you would walk down a flight of stairs to the dining room. There is also a parking lot and entrance you can access off of Ponce de Leon Ave, across from Kroger. I visited for lunch and sat at the bar. The chef went above and beyond preparing this beautifully plated hummus with lamb. The pita bread was warm and soft. When you scan the QR code or look at the online menu, you may not see this option but, ask the server for it, it is still available. I was so glad that it was - it was delicious. The belt line watching is like European cafe culture to me. And I don't think there is a better place to do it than here. It's a bit hard to find an outside spot around evening times, but it's a great location and the food and drinks are solid. I had the lamb burger with fries and I wish there was a bit more service aspect as you pretty much do everything here yourself. I got the lamb burger which was good, though I wish the burger had more of a crust and a crisp bite. There was too much moisture in the meat and it left the rest of the burger experience feelin a bit subpar. Their green hot sauce is very flavorful too. The chicken had great flavor and was delicious. We ordered on toast tab thinking we'd save time but it would have been actually faster to sit and order. I didn't experience long wait times or the restaurant being particularly busy. They brought out my dish cold but were nice and apologetic when I asked if it was supposed to be a cold dish. I will preface this by saying I am NOT a fan of Mediterranean food. Hummus tastes like ground up teeth, and pita bread is so damn bland to me, and I feel like that makes up about 75% of the food, right? Well, that is how I felt until this place. Although a bit overpriced, my mouth was NOT disappointed. I had the beef kabob, and it was fire! It was so flavorful and robust. The ingredients were fresh, and while I am not a big presentation person, the plate was pretty. I don't know much about this style of food, but if I were to guess, this is what authenticity tastes like. Remember how earlier I said I don't care for pita? Well, the kabob was sitting on 2 slices of pita along with a medley of sauces and seasonings. Initially, I was trying to scrape the excess off of the pita with my fork when I finally decided to just pick that baby up and eat it. I now eat pita. I also had a drink that tasted similar to a piña colada. It was very sweet (that's how I like it), and it packed a nice punch.They are on the beltline, so the patio seating was perfect for people watching. If you want to sit inside, however, the ambiance there was warm and inviting. Of course, I am huge on customer service, so I have to take a moment to discuss that. Brandon was the host, and he was amazing. He gave excellent recommendations and was extremely patient, while my sister and I asked 1000 questions. The server, another gentleman (didn't catch his name), was super attentive and provided exceptional service. I have officially been spoiled and will 1. Named for the owner's grandmother, who sold the same falafel recipe in Tel Aviv in the 50's, Rina has some of the most amazing Mediterranean / middle eastern flavors I've ever had. Located across from Ponce City Market and near Kroger, it's easy to almost miss it, but make sure you don't! We had the beef kabab and falafel sandwich - both were just incredible. They have a variety of beautiful cocktails, milkshakes, and sides as well. The quality of the food and ambiance makes for a fancy and nice date night that felt comparable to restaurants at a higher price point. We had a wonderful evening sitting on the peaceful patio, watching the beltline, and enjoying our meal. The indoor space looked beautiful as well, which we can't wait to try once vaccinated. They also have a to-go counter for pickup or takeout, and the location is near a lot of nice outdoor tables from Ponce or the Beltline if you wanted to still eat nearby.
