I came by before my yoga class and this spot and it stoppers menu was pretty interesting. I tried the zaatar chicken wings and Angus beef sliders. The social hour menu is pretty good for an after work social and it is so close to the arts center and colony square. The food overall is average but I did not try their wine selections and extensive menu options. Come back with a few friends to try more of the menu items

If you're looking for somewhere with nice ambience, and an upscale vibe, definitely check out Boqueria in colony Square. However, the food is very bland. I came here for lunch with a friend and her food came out almost immediately. My food took almost an hour to come to the table. I only ordered two appetizers. The waiter was more than accommodating and gave us a free churro dessert to make up for it. The Churro however were also not that impressive. If you account for having to pay for parking and the very awkwardly plain yet diverse menu, this restaurant would not be a place that I recommend.

Overall, nice vibey place with decent food! There's a parking garage that they validate for so points for convenience ** Ambience: a bit too loud for an intimate dinner (better for groups) but multitude of booths, regular tables, and bar seating. Warm, dim lighting with modern furnishing ** Service: wasn't too busy when we first got in for dinner around 6:30 ish so quick to take our order and tapas came out relatively quickly after. Towards the end of our meal, our desserts took a while to come out after we placed our order (which we thought was odd because it should have already been premade as they were cakes) but they seemed a bit understaffed at that point because it seemed pretty busy ** Food: all relatively okay, nothing was too memorable or standout to be honest - Forget me not: wanted one of the other mocktails which apparently was not available in addition to a majority of most of the beers except for one, the forget me not was okay, just a tart flavor that I felt wasn't too outstanding or complex - Brussels sprouts: felt like they were bit a bit heavy handed on the balsamic, not sure how much the golden raisins add since the balsamic already made the dish pretty sweet - Zanahoriass/carrots: nice charred flavor with a sweet and sour sauce that I felt went pretty well with the sweetness of the carrots - Bikini: I know it's a grilled cheese sandwich but it felt a bit oily for my taste - Chicken wings: same sweet and sour sauce as the carrots, no complaints, goes well with the protein and the wings were well cooked - Calamari: well cooked/tender, batter didn't feel overly oily, marinara sauce was nice and tomatoey - Tosta de cangrejo: a bit too much of the pickled components that I feel like took away from the nice subtle sweetness of the crabmeat - Dates: sweetness of the dates went pretty well with the funkiness of the blue cheese, reminds of you a component of charcuterie to go with your alcohol - Olive oil cake: nice and moist, generous portions, the cream on the side had a nice orange flavor that reminded me of orange creamsicle - Chocolate cheesecake: smooth and not too sweet, the chocolate flavor was more bitter like dark chocolate (which I actually really liked) that paired well with the subtle sweetness of the whipped cream served on the side

Boqueria is a well-known tapas chain ("Inspired by Barcelona") that can be found in New York, DC, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, Connecticut, and now...Atlanta. It is a relatively new addition at Colony Square. And in my view - a much needed complement to the other venues in and around Politan Row. The second you go in, you can appreciate the variety of seating options that are available to you. Stools at the bar. High top two-seaters. Cushy, curved booths. Small tables, large tables, etc. Service is super friendly and willing to address several questions about the menu. Note that happy hour options are available as well. We enjoyed the patatinas - punched above its weight given that it's just (homemade) potato chips...but the accompanying cheese was legit. And quite a strong portion to boot. Really enjoyed the escalivada - somewhat of a Mediterranean dish - though it was admittedly a small portion (since I don't think the bread counts). The ensalada de tomates was perhaps my favorite dish...an aesthetically intriguing combination of Kumato tomatoes combined with black plums. The octopus was fine but a little chewier than expected, and the spiced baby carrots were excellent. Chocolate cheesecake was delectable! Don't eat if you are on a diet.

I have mixed feelings about this place, but hopefully their quality of food and beverages improve over time. I was excited to find out that Boqueria started in NY (one of the best foodie cities imo) and I love tapas. It's a new restaurant and didn't really know what to expect. I did make a reservation on Resy, a day before our reservation, someone from the restaurant called me to confirm our reservation. It's located in the bustling Colony Square, but they do offer a 2 hr parking validation! The restaurant is super easy to find. With a group of 6 people, it's always so confusing when ordering tapas. We decided to opt for The Classics Chefs Menu for $39 per person! The pros: -The space is beautiful, super modern and trendy and fits the vibe of Colony Square. You're greeted and seated right away by the hostess. -I thought our server was pretty good. I noted that I have a hazelnut allergy and she made sure to separate the Nutella dipping sauce from other churro dipping sauces. She also constantly checked in on us. She also notified us that they were out of some food items. -The Classics Chefs Menu imo was a STEAL. For $39 per person, we got a total of 13 plates (shishito peppers, tortilla espanola, ensalada vasca, ensalada cesar, patatas brava, Brussels with Iberico vin, gambas al ajillo, calamares, dates stuffed with bacon, albondigas, charcuterie platter, mushroom and onion flatbread, and churros). Some tapas were doubled in serving, but some were just served 1 plate to share amongst us. We were all so full after dinner that's for sure. I'm assuming our server just chose random tapas for us, or if it was up to the chef's discretion but I feel like we got a good amount of everything - I do wish there were more protein options though. -My favorite from the tapas served were - tortilla espanola, ensalada Cesar and dates stuffed with bacon. Again, I had low expectation but was pleasantly surprised with the tortilla espanola. It's basically a frittata with potatoes. It was very tasty and the inside was creamy. I loved the ensalada Cesar served with some sardine pieces; I thought this was super unique! You can never go wrong with the dates stuffed with bacon. It was the perfect combo of sweetness from dates and saltiness from the bacon. -Food came out super fast. Our tapas came out one right after another. -They offer mocktails! As someone who's not a big drinker, I appreciate this very much. The cons: -It's super loud on Saturday dinner. I do not recommend going here on a first date or you will not be able to hear anything. -The tables were placed so close to each other that I kept bumping into the people sitting behind me. -Food was meh besides what I mentioned above. It just seemed like alot of the food we got were overcooked and burnt. The papayas braves were too crunchy that I could break a tooth. I love calamares and these were so dry. My first bite of the albondigas had an overpowering flavor of sheeps milk. Churros were also burnt and dry. -I didn't order cocktails but it was a general consensus from our group that they were not too impressed. -There's a QR code on the table to scan. I'm not sure if this is what you use to pay, but we were told after the fact, that since we ordered the chefs menu, the total on the QR code vs. if we pay with the server is significantly different. So keep in mind that if you get the chefs menu, then pay with the server and not the QR code.

    Brussel sprout salad

The decor is trendy, the service was friendly but the food was just ok. I wanted to love it but even the patatas bravas were fried extra hard and tasteless. The Brussel sprout salad needed more dressing and the steak dish was less steak and more chorizo. I forgot to take a pic of the best thing we ordered - the mushroom croquetas. They were tiny but tasty. Everything else - sadly, the kitchen could have kept.

    Marked up vegan menu

Came here recently with a large group of colleagues from across the country & Canada). I'm vegan & checked out the menu in advance & thought I was going to have to buy dinner on the way back to the hotel. I'd already had a really rough day (sick pet back home) and it was all I could do to just hold it together. I did mention to wait staff about my diet restrictions and they got to work. Management brought me my own copy of the menu that they'd marked up for me to know what they would be bringing just to me. It was so thoughtful! I would absolutely come back knowing they can be so accommodating.

    Calamari
    Wen T.

We had a mixed experience for lunch. The bad: The steak and lamb skewers both came out cold and we had to send them back to be re-made. The crispy calamari was overcooked and rubbery. In retrospect, we should've sent this back too but we were already irritated about sending the two skewers back. The good: Caesar salad was good. Nothing special. The garlic shrimp was the star of the meal. It came out piping hot with crusty bread for dipping. The chicken wings were also very good, coming out very hot and crispy. I'm always puzzled when dishes don't come to the table piping hot at tapas restaurants where dishes are delivered as soon as they're ready. I think they need to hire food runners instead of depending on servers to check. Our server handled the issues politely and professionally. A manager dropped off the second plate of steak skewers but didn't apologize. Just set them down and left. Seemed odd that he would make the effort to run food but not acknowledge the issue. The second set of skewers were warmer but still not hot. I'm not sure why. In summary, we wouldn't return or recommend this place as there are so many other great places in this area.

We had a really bad experience at Boqueria in Colony Square last night with 18 groups it was my friends birthday., The service was slow and unfriendly. The food was a letdown the portions were tiny. The Brava potatoes were swimming in oil, oh the shrimp plate too who serve that much oil in it ? the croquettes tasted more like dessert than savory bites, and the seafood paella was just okay. The appetizers were also a miss. The crab toast was soggy, and the "cheese bread plate? Forget about it. The charcuterie board looked unappetizing. The open kitchen was an amazing show for people but please wear gloves if you are facing with people out there cant cut tappas without no gloves thats very HACCP! But what really took the cake was when they couldn't accommodate my shellfish allergy. We ended up paying almost $180 for a chef's menu that didn't even meet our expectations, plus drinks. And to add insult to injury, they had a service charge on the bill already, but still expected us to add another tip. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The service was great. I came here with my vegan dad and they were super accommodating, making this delicious paella. The restaurant had great ambiance, with a variety of seating options and really cool booths.

Essentially you can eat 1/2 of the sandwich and save the other half for a second meal. Now the bread pudding was a disappointment. It was dry and lacked flavor, I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed her tuna melt, the only feedback she had was that the press did not allow for the inside of the sandwich to be warm. She thought the entire sandwich would be warm.
