Came here for dinner with a friend on Friday night. The vibes are fun inside with a cute bar and plenty of seating. The server told us to sit anywhere we wanted and we chose a two top by the wall. It took a bit of time for him to bring water to us but we managed to get our order in as well. Our server was kind and somewhat attentive. We ordered the hummus no. 2, a side of fries, I got the steak kebab, and my friend got the spiced lamb burger. She said it was fair and the bun was slightly burnt and she felt that it was too dry and needed the sauce from the fries. I really enjoyed the fries! They were well spiced and crispy and hot and came with a lovely sauce. The real winner of tonight was the hummus. Delectably creamy and the flavor was bold and truly excellent. It came with warm pita bread with an assortment of crudite. The true bummer of tonight was my main dish. After the hummus came out, it took a very long while for all the other dishes to come out. In fact, a table that sat down after us got their food before us. My main dish, the steak kebab, had decent flavor but was so cold. The couscous was cold and the steak, which I had asked for medium rare, was more rare than I would've liked. The steak was below lukewarm in temperature leading it to be incredibly chewy. A waste of filet mignon if you ask me... Overall, it's a cute little spot that's right off the Beltline. I would only come back for some hummus and maybe some drinks. The inside is quite spacious, but my friend and I opted for a patio table. Service was kind of slow / lacking, which seems to be a consistent issue when looking at other reviews of this place. However, it's worth the patience for the delicious food! I got the chicken shawarma pita and my friend got the falafel salad, and we split a side of fries. There's rarely anyone available at the window to order and I witnessed multiple people going downstairs to the empty bar to see where their drink was only to find all of the staff sitting together chatting at the bar. It took almost 20 minutes to get my (very yummy) drink only to learn they are batch prepared. Side note on the drink- I guess their online menu and physical menu's drinks are named the same but have different ingredients. We came with a party of 4 for a belated birthday celebration. I've been to Rina in the past and really enjoyed it. My friend and I split the chicken shawarma and lamb burger. I've had the chicken shawarma in the past and really enjoyed it, but this time it was much different. They forgot the sauces so it was very dry and lacked flavor. It was my first time having the lamb burger. I thought it was pretty good but nothing crazy. I do really enjoy their fries and thought they did a good job there. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. It was not busy at all. We sat outside because our friend has his dog. The service was great. I was so excited to try this place- looked at their menu and it looked amazing. The food was good, but the service was abysmal. Not sure if they were understaffed that night, but there were also only like 4 tables filled inside, and the outside is window service. We waited 30 minutes for the mezze, which were cold dishes I'm sure are made in bulk. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for the cauliflower that we ordered as the third mezze dish. I initially ordered the sabich pita, and they came out 45 minutes after we ordered to tell us they were out of eggplant. Then our pitas came, and we had to ask for the fries we ordered- and that took another 15 minutes. After having a great takeout experience from Rina a few months ago, my fiancé and I decided to revisit this popular Beltline restaurant when the mood struck for healthy yet flavorful takeout. Unfortunately, our second experience from Rina fell flat on many fronts and I subsequently cannot recommend this restaurant any more. First, yes, the pandemic appears to be waning in the US, but seeing numerous unmasked/improperly masked servers and cooks at the restaurant disheartened us. We have dined out and gotten takeout from numerous restaurants over the past month, and most have at least tried to seem like they care about masking or COVID protocols. Here, any semblance of that was gone. Furthermore, the service we received when we picked up our food felt bumbling. We were helped by no fewer than three staff, none of whom appeared to know anything about our phone order. They even totally forgot to include one of our items, which was frustrating. The food, too, took a significant step backward since we last ate at Rina. We opted for the hummus #2, amba chicken, and a few mezze. The hummus, while creamy, lacked flavor and the topping of butternut squash was under-spiced. The pita's gummy, pocketless interior indicated some serious undercooking. The rice that came with the amba chicken had a lot of crunchy, hard bits mixed with mushy pieces, suggestive of careless technique. We have no complaints about the well marinated chicken and tasty veggie mezze, but the negative components of the meal overshadowed these bright spots. We ended up paying close to $40 for a relatively small meal, and we easily could have had a better tasting feast at other Middle Eastern spots for less. This place just seems to be resting on its prime location with little care for food or service. Given the subpar quality of our experience here, we won't be returning and can't recommend this place anymore for Israeli eats. read more

We ordered the Hummus No. 0 ($12), chicken shawarma ($16), and jaffa fried fish ($20). I loved the pillowy soft pita, and the hummus was very creamy and tahini-forward. The chicken shawarma was loaded with tender and juicy chicken and oozing with sauce, it was just a little messy to eat! The jaffa fried fish was tasty and flavorful, but felt oily and fried for too long. It's right off the beltline and across from Ponce city market. They have a cute little to go window too. Our waitress was quick to take our orders. I got the falafel salad. My three friends and I wanted to try a new restaurant near the Beltline and I am so happy we chose Rina! First, the restaurant is beautiful. I love the tile floors and the hanging lights. I'm usually skeptical about getting fries at nicer restaurants but they are definitely worth a try (the creamy orange sauce they come with was divine). The hummus 0 disappeared from the table within a few minutes. I wish they gave us more pita with it, though! Lastly, the chicken shawarma... AMAZING. You can really taste every ingredient they stuff in there -- the onions, the sauces, the spices. I recommend bringing some napkins with you! The aesthetic is the only thing I enjoyed at this place. My girlfriend and I both ordered the chicken Shawarma, which is not a chicken Shawarma at all. Maybe a play off it but not close to authentic with the flavors... or in this case lack there of. Because of how quickly the food came out after ordering is how I know that it's NOT fresh. I had to send mine back because my chicken was lukewarm and when it did come back (literally a minute and a half later... again not fresh) I thought the heat would bring out the flavor... But there was no flavor. Very bland chicken. We also got two side orders of pita bread and it was a different type of pita bread I wasn't expecting. At the beginning of our dining experience I ordered a beer and wanted an orange slice and watched the bartender get the orange slice out of the container on the bar with the other garnishes with his bare hand. After I told the manager about what I witnessed, our server did not come back to check on us and was avoiding eye contact with me. It was our first time, dining here after finding it on Yelp and was very disappointed especially since this place is on the beltline. I've passed this place on the belt-line countless times and I'm mad for not going in sooner. It was delicious! The lamb burger (15$) was perfect, well cooked with the perfect amount of sauces, a little bit of spice and slaw. It comes with fries, that were also pretty heavily seasoned but delicious as well. We ordered the Israeli salad as another side. It was a small portion but it was very good as well. (4$) They have a variety of foods to choose from as well as different cocktails that I can't wait to come back and try. Their outside seating also has some umbrellas and high top tables. They are also very dog friendly, one of the staff members brought out a water bowl for the table next to us that had a dog. It is a perfect place to eat and just people watch. read more

I had the falafel salad, without the egg ($16) and split the date/tahini shake with a friend ($16). Pricey, but delicious! Do wish they'd give a half-portion option of the shake because it's amazing but my stomach can't take that much dairy. Holy unexpected goodness. From the beltline vantage this place looks super unassuming and casual, but when you go in and down the stairs it opens up into a beautiful chic spot. Rina is one of the few restaurants on the Beltline that I would actually go to again. Despite the location, I've found most places to be entirely vibes-based with mediocre food that provides low value for the price. You basically end up paying for the location and aesthetic alone, and if I wanted to do that, I'd go to an art gallery, not a restaurant. Rina, while not necessarily a "cheap eat", actually provides the value that makes their slight markup worth it, in my opinion. It's a fast casual service model in a more upscale appearing environment. You order at the window and seat yourself, after which your food and drink is brought to you. I came with a rather large group, so our food and drinks came out all out of order, but we were warned as such by the staff given the size of our group, and I am fairly sure that wouldn't be the case for a small group. Thankfully, we got to try most of their menu. The drink menu is short but sweet, and everyone who ordered a cocktail enjoyed theirs. The hummus is excellent, and very generously portioned. You could easily serve three from one hummus plate as an appetizer. I love that they provide not only some pillow-soft pita, but also crunchy vegetables to dip. My dinner buddies who had the chicken shawarma, steak kebab plate, and fried fish plate were very happy with their food and positively stuffed afterward. I had the lamb burger with fries, and while the patty itself was not necessarily the star of the show, I loved the proportion of flavors and textures in the burger. It was juicy but crunchy from the slaw, rich but tart, and I did not get tired of a single bite. The fries are solid as well! I would definitely come back, probably with a smaller group, and get some more excellent Beltline people watching over a delicious meal. read more

Rina is a pretty tasty lunch or dinner spot along the east side Beltline trail. Directly across from Ponce City Market. You can park in the small shopping center lot in front (think, going to Green's or Kroger) and walk through to the building to dine inside or out on the back patio. The menu is straight forward with Middle Eastern fare. I've had the falafel, chicken platter, and fish platter. Everything is decently good. I think the platters could offer a bit more for the price, especially the fish. It's literally only a platter of fish with no sides and I'm not quite sure they'd call it a platter. Don't get me wrong - the fish is delicious, large pieces of grouper. With a light sauce on the plate but that is it for $20. And the main reason for the four stars. Beltline pricing I guess. There's a fun drink menu too and The Tzuk hit the spot. If you're looking for a prime people watching place for some bites and conversation, this is it. read more

I love Mediterranean food- this was the worst I've ever had! The rice was DRY beyond believe, cold and practically flavorless. Okay, I'm officially a fan of all restaurants affiliated with Aziza (and officially an Israeli cuisine fan for life!) Rina is a faster, more casual spot to get some really awesome Israeli cuisine. A friend and I popped in one Friday night just a few days after their opening and it was PACKED. We went to the bar for a drink while we waited to be seated and were greeted with friendly, patient staff. They have a bunch of draft cocktails which is pretty neat, so we got the Metzitzim and Hof Tel Baruch - both delish, but I think I favored the Hof Tel Baruch! We started with some Mezze (olives, eggplant, and cauliflower) and then opted for some Halloumi as well -- DON'T sleep on the halloumi! Dip this fried stick of cheesy goodness in their tomato brown butter sauce and let your mouth thank you. For entrees, we shared the beef kebab and the arayas (lamb) pita. I honestly don't know which one I liked better - both were amazing (thanks to the master chef for his suggestions). By the time we got to the end of our meal, we were WAY too stuffed for our own good (had to get some to-go boxes due to the sheer volume of food we ordered), but we couldn't leave without trying the tahini milkshake.
