    Patatas Bravas

This restaurant really lives up to its name, which means "hidden corner tapas", as it is very easy to just walk by without noticing it. We may or may not have done just that. The tapas are pretty much all excellent. I would highlight the fried octopus as a must-have. In contrast, the patatas bravas can be safely skipped. In theory, they offer paella, but due to staffing changes their paella chef was actually working front of house. While he was very kind and hospitable, I do hope he's able to get back to paella-making in the near future. Lastly, if you drive, they do have free parking, which is a nice perk. Rincon Escondido is a small, cozy place perfect for savoring a quiet meal, despite being on an incredibly busy street. Maybe it's just the magic of tapas.

Super Small dining area. A handful of tables inside and then a few high tops/ tables outside. Very casual and service was a bit slow but to be fair only one person working. Had a red sangria, a glass of Tempranillo and empanada sample. The empanadas didn't have that much meat inside but enjoyed the fact that they were BAKED Empanadas! Would be interested to see what their other tapas are but not making not making a giant effort to go back. They probably get lots of local traffic which is great support as it does have lots Spanish variety to offer the community

Again, it's been a while since we've been here. Still so good. We decided to stay with the tapas. The restaurant filled up really quickly and we were glad for that decision. The tables a small, and the timing perfect, one dish almost magically followed the other, fresh from the stove. First came the octopus a la placha, cooked perfectly with a side small salad. Next were the tortilla de patatas with a garlicy mayonaise, followed by the utterly delicious mushrooms in sherry sauce. I want to find this recipe. Finally was the luscious gambas al ajillo. Each course was served with a small, hot baguette to catch every bit of sauce.

Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. All of our dishes were made fresh and timed well in order to give us time to enjoy each dish individually. My favorite was the shrimp - the sauce was delicious and I actually ended up dipping the patatas bravas and tortilla de chorizo in the sauce too. It had a tasty garlic flavor with a very subtle kick!

Cozy, intimate and delicious! Feels like you are back in Spain. Great service, within shouting distance of the chefs and everything was delicious. Sangria had great flavor, loved the garlic dipping sauce with croquetas and the paella was moist, flavorful and huge! Make sure you give yourself time as it takes over an hour for them to make fresh. Also pro tip from the kitchen: you will have better chances of convincing the chef to make it fresh if you make an appointment for it ahead! But I got lucky!

A great place if you're into Spanish style food. The service is always good. Garbanzos, tortilla de chorizo, pulpo (grilled octopus), and steak are great options to share with a special someone. The owner and chef are Argentine which is a plus since they really enjoying cooking delicious dishes of food. The ambience takes you back to a cool hole in the wall you'd find in Barcelona, Cartagena or any Latin American restaurant.

Finally went here after seeing it super often and I loved it! There is Spanish and Argentine food and I loved both. We had the patatas bravas, gambas al ajilo, goat cheese bombs, and a chicken milanesa. We also had sangria which I didn't love but I really liked everything else. The owner is super friendly and it is definitely a great hidden corner!

The food here is literally like something you'd reheat at home when you have leftovers. I came with a friend and it was us and one other table. The same person who takes your order also cooks the food, although it was clearly microwaved other than the fries. Appetizers were meh. We ordered the chicken manchengo dish and the picture attached is what we got. The chicken was covered in a brownish black goop -- the taste was "OK" it looked much worse than it tasted... but not worth the $60 or so our bill came out to in the end.

Tiny little place, good food. Mixture of Spanish and Argentinean. The tabla seemed a tad pricey but the rest was very reasonable. We ordered the calamari, empanadas, shrimp and patatas. The bread was really tasty. Intimate atmosphere, good find.

Fresh, tasty food! Highly recommend for those wanting to share delicious meals (tapas- family style)! We shared the Pulpo a la plancha (out of this world) and the empanadas platter! The food is all cooked right when you order it, so it might take a minute, but is worth the wait! Small, intimate space. But there's truly nothing better than a hole in the wall establishment that treats you like family

A special shoutout to Luis Miguel, who took such great care of us! He was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The service was good, but we found the food to be less than stellar. My lady started with a salad that she loved but I tried it and thought it was too sweet. The mocktails were terrible and not cheap. The burger was good, but I'd say not great because the flavor of the meat was somewhat masked by the sauce and onions. Tried the skirt steak, which is my favorite cut after hanger, and while the presentation is great with butter melted tableside, it was not evenly cooked. The middle was medium rare but too much of the ends was overcooked. Also tried the branzino, was I thought was better than both the steak and the burger. Flavorful and cooked just right. Ossobuco seems to be very popular these days and for some people it may be a good date night spot, I just didn't love it. Would give it 3.5/5 if I could. I would note that the manager was quite nice as he thanked us for our visit on the way out.

The beautiful outdoor setting creates such a unique and relaxing atmosphere that you almost forget you're still in the city. The food was outstanding. The grilled meatballs were flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the cheese saganaki was absolutely delicious. But the real star of the meal was the beef souvlaki--it was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And I have to mention the fries that came with it. They were honestly some of the best fries I've ever had, and definitely not something I expected to be raving about at a Greek restaurant! This was an amazing dining experience from start to finish, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

For appetizers, we ordered the Ali Nazik and Eggplant Carpaccio. The Ali Nazik was phenomenal. We were given a side of bread, which paired really well with the dish. The lamb was packed with flavor, and the smoked eggplant yogurt was fire. The two complemented each other perfectly. The Eggplant Carpaccio was good as well. I will say, though, that if you aren't a fan of dishes with a heavy vinegar flavor, this may not be for you. I'd also be curious to see how this dish would taste served warm. For our entree, we ordered the Beef Souvlaki, which came with six skewers of filet mignon. The beef was perfectly cooked and very tender, so no complaints there. However, the rest of the dish didn't really stand out to me. The fries were decent, but nothing crazy. As a first-time visitor, I also feel like this probably wasn't the best dish to order if you want to get a full sense of what the restaurant has to offer. One of my biggest disappointments was that the restaurant primarily had outdoor seating. Maybe it was just the night we went, but it was extremely hot and humid, and the fans in our area weren't cutting it. It was also very dark, making it difficult to see the menus and even our food. I think better lighting, especially toward the front of the restaurant, would make a big difference. The food came out very quickly, which we appreciated. I do wish our server had been a little more helpful, though. We wanted to learn more about the menu and were hoping for some guidance and recommendations, but he didn't really guide us through the menu the way I had hoped. Overall, Mandolin was a solid experience, and the Ali Nazik in particular was a standout. I'd be interested in coming back and trying some of their other dishes to get a better feel for what the restaurant does best.

We ordered the Procuitto and burrata salad as an appetizer. It was huge. Perfect to split amongst the 4 of us. We also ordered the beef empanada to share. It was really good! We were enjoying everything so much that I didn't take pictures before we were almost finished eating. Everything was amazing! The steak was so tender! Cooked to perfection! Very tasty. We asked for some chimichurri and they brought us some small (2 tablespoons) cups of it. I had the roasted potatoes on the side. My husband had the fries. You could tell that the fries were handmade.
