The only thing authentic about this place was the two mexican employees ... I ordered steak tacos and recieved what appeared to be pulled mule meat ... I paid 3.50 a taco (which is almost double what the best taco i ever had) it was littered with parmisean cheese - not authentic Lettuce- not authentic And mule instead of tacos bisteak I honestly installed yelp just to fry this restuarant. Go to taco bell and youll get better quality ingrediants I had to pay extra for fake red and green salsa which apparently means as bland as possible to rincon... I realize if youve never left ohio thats pretty good mexican but for those of us who have been to mexico and had real tacos this is seriously the biggest joke of a mexican resturant since ive moved here read more

First time here. The chips and salsa were great, as was the queso - so much flavor! My gold margarita was good but kind of pricey. Hubby had the beef burrito. Said the red sauce was good but the meat could have used more seasoning. The chicken in my enchilada and burrito was really good, but the only way you could tell them apart was by their tortillas- could have used some variety between the two. The only fail was the refried beans that we ordered on the side. They were really dry and had an almost burned taste. Hopefully it was just that batch. I really liked the atmosphere at this restaurant. Only 1 visible tv (in the bar area), very clean restaurant area, and nice bathrooms. There is nothing sadder then trying to eat in Eastgate. Its mostly chains and more chains. And the sole reason why I was in the area was since there is a Best Buy (which I hate going to unless I have too). Anyway, my dad, sister and I were hungry. And we could not find the old Thai restaurant we use to go to when we lived closer to the Eastgate area. So we settled on Rincon Mexicano. Its a typical Tex-Mex so nothing fancy. The waiter was nice and the food was good. But eh, this is why Cincinnati is at a loss. Since Jalopenos closed, everywhere else is okay because that was my favorite Tex Mex (take a moment of silence for the loss).....ok...and if I want Mexican I would go to the Taqueria in Fairfield. We have been going to Rincon for many years and this was by far our worst experience. The salsa was nothing more than chopped up tomatoes in a little bit of juice. It was extremely bland. The chips were just ok but not worth the $3 price tag if you wanted a second basket. The service was extremely slow. It was a Friday night so we expected a crowd but we had to repeatedly follow-up with our server on the status of our order. When the food came out, it was lukewarm at best. Never has a restaurant gone downhill as fast as this place. They has forsaken customer service for the almighty peso. First thing we noticed was the tortilla chips and salsa, which are complimentary every other place, are now on the menu as appetizers. You must order each separate and of course incur a separate charge for each. My Fiance ask for a little guacamole for her taco salad that was very slight to say the least. Upon delivery of the bill we saw that we were charged 2.00 for a tablespoon of guacamole. We have been there several times before and until this time enjoyed our lunch. Found Rincon near our hotel at Eastgate. Was expecting a mediocre meal, however it was better than I expected. I ordered the Mole plate and was happy to find the flavors were balanced and the food warm and filling. My wife ordered the Chili Colorado plate and she too was pleasantly surprised. Out server though busy kept our drinks full and we were never left wanting for anything. There was a blues musician there that night that made our night complete. read more

The staff is friendly and always willing to give us as much time as we need without making us feel unwelcome, like so many other places do if you have been sitting for more than ten minutes after eating. Just finished dinner here and wow. Two adults, two kids on a random Wednesday night. The restaurant is clean and has great authentic decor. Service was exceptional. Live music on Wednesday and Thursdays and on the weekends. Not too loud, good acoustic jams. I'm a mole snob and this was by far the best mole I have had in the city. Hands down my favorite Mexican in Cincinnati. I make the trek from downtown several times a month because it's just. That. Good. My favorite entree is the arroz con pollo, which is full of delicious veggies. Their Lenten specials are fantastic for any Catholics looking for somewhere to go on Fridays. I can't believe the poor reviews below...really...I cant believe them. I've eaten at Rincon for over 10 years and have never had a bad meal, or bad service. I travel extensively with my job internationally and I can say that the food at Rincon is some of the best Mexican I've had...regardless of price. It is fantastic. In fact, Rincon has won culinary awards for some of the magic they make in the kitchen. Yes, it is in a strip mall, next to a dollar cinema ...but this place is a a gem. There is a line of people waiting to eat at Rincon nearly every weekend night...and it has been that way for over 10 years. The owners are great people that truly care about great food. GO...TRUST ME! The margaritas are unbelievable...very good! I've eaten everything on the menu over the years and would strongly recommend the enchiladas, tacos Rincon, carne asada, and if you like mole sauce...try the mole pablano, or enchiladas mole...the best mole on planet earth. I have been to this restaurant several times. Tonight we ordered To go from the menu on their website. Six entrees, issues with every one. I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that the manager was at his daughter's wedding. Oh, ok, but it's a Saturday night. When I asked who was in charge I was again told that no manager was on duty. I explained all of our missing items and was told the menu changed. I ordered the carnitas dinner. The menu on their website described as; carnitas, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole etc. and flour or corn tortillas. I received an unappetizing vat of beans in styrofoam, topped with 3 chunks of pork. And weirdly sweet corn tortillas. Not to mention that I live a mile or so away, we had to wait for order, everything was cold. The man on the phone offered zero resolution, (I did ask for them to make it right, I pointed out that their website is outdated and I eventually said that I would feel compelled to leave a negative review on Yelp.) He couldn't have cared less. Oh yeah, an order of chips and salsa is an attritional $7.00 to go side. Really!? Did ownership change? Sad to say, but never again.
