We came across Ringer's Roost due to a bad experience at another nearby restaurant. Our party of seven contacted that other place a week in advance to ensure adequate seating. When we got there, they advised us to let them know when our entire party arrived and they will seat us. We did that, but they turned us away and said they could not accommodate us. They acted like this was the first time they knew of a group our size coming in and as semi-frequent customers, I was personally offended by the rude brush off. Our group decided to walk across the street to Ringers and the unnamed restaurant told us as we walked away, "move your cars!" even though we were parked in front of their restaurant on a public, city street which was not designated as parking for their establishment. Wow. Ringer's Roost, however, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel special. They gladly ushered us in, sat us quickly in a cozy corner with a window view and the waitstaff were all friendly. My husband and I came to hear the live music, and dine outdoors on a beautiful late summer night. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated because they were quite busy. Once seated we ordered and waited over an hour to get our food, however, BOY, it was worth the wait! We both ordered the "specials". Hubby got the Ana Maria steak and I ordered the grilled lemon chicken. We were both really loving our platters, chock full with delicious veggies, perfectly cooked! The chicken was unbelievably moist and lemony, and the steak was cooked perfectly with a deep well-seasoned taste. Our waitress was delightful and attentive, as well. Kudos to those busy chefs producing two mouth-watering meals for us. Can't wait to go back and try something else on their menu! Yum! read more

I came out here at the last minute with my immediate/extended family (we had planned on another place just down the street, but the wait was excessive). Now, normally, my extended family at any sort of public place is a disaster, as nobody can make up their minds, and basically act like they have never been in a restaurant before in their lives. Thankfully, this place was casual enough to avoid the group sticking out too bad, yet it wasn't some cheesy chain-style place either. Everyone was really friendly and cheerful, from the hostess to the server. Our large (8 person) party was seated quickly, and we had drinks almost immediately. It was very busy, but things seemed to move along briskly enough. Fried perogies (hey, its Allentown) made for an excellent appetizer, and even though my entree (chicken breast stuffed with lump crabmeat) was late, they were thoughtful enough to apologize profusely and then comped a drink. I know stuff happens, so I don't mind so long as its acknowledged. They were also quick to put on the Phillies game for us, and they had an Addam's Family pinball machine tucked in the back...extra star just for that. I'd come here again, as the food was above average for pub fare, the service great, and it was a lively, yet not TOO lively crowd for a Friday night. read more

Good neighborhood bar, good food and decent service. The only thing I would not get tap beer anymore. The first lager I had was good, but they must have changed the keg, because the second beer was flat and tasted funky. They do have a great selection of bottle beers so I would stay with that next time. Plenty of parking. read more

This bar has Allentown written all over it. Even after remodeling, there are still the old timey pix of old WWF pro wrestlers on many of the walls (this was the go to spot for the boys after their Ag Hall TV tapings in the 70s-80s). The bar service is fine, the waiter service can be hot or cold. While the menu is a nice attempt at modernization for bar food, overall a bit mediocre though the Mexican, teriyaki, and penne dishes are tasty. Lots of TVs with access to local sports. Great Philly fan sports spot if you're looking for that in the area. One final note: the light beer is a bit warm. Turn down the keg fridge a degree or two. There's other spots I'd recommend over the Roost; but if you want a bar that bleeds Allentown, other than Stahley's, this is it. read more

It was my husbands and I first time going for lunch before he went to work at 4pm. I had the crab cake sandwich and he had a burger and my crab cake had so much flavor I didn't have to add a thing . I usually like to add the sauce or sour cream bc I love to add sauces or more flavor but it wasn't needed. Then a day later we went to taco night and I had a chimichanga and 3 tacos and it was delish . My husband just had calamari and was happy with that too. Was in the mood for standard pub fare while watching a playoff game, so I only had the sweet and sweaty wings and fries -- however, Ringer's Roost seems to have a pretty interesting menu and I look forward to trying more things in the future. Cute quaint place with lots of parking. Love the old beer bottles on the wall. I had a steak salad which was large and tasty. Shared a Chimay. Went to watch football since they have the ticket but it's not a place to go for that. The music was really loud and no audio of the game. Visited Allentown this past weekend, and was told to visit the Ringer's Roost if I wanted to be in a place that is instrumental in Allentown's deep pro wrestling history... Its what I wanted, so we stopped in... The place is clean, modern and friendly, yet it maintains a great aura of the wrestlers who frequented the place back in the 70s and 80s after their matches at Agricultural Hall across the street. The food was really good too - I was expecting standard bar food, but its actually got a decent menu that won't break the bank... Highly recommended if you're around the Allentown area! read more
