Was initially very nervous to bring my Wedding dress to any dry cleaner for alterations. There are so many cleaners/alterations places in Glendale but Rio had the best reviews so I gave them a shot. I am so thrilled with not only the result of my dress (which needed a hem, size alterations and some minor repairs) but their customer service was spectacular! I dropped my dress off on Monday and it was finished, pressed & ready to go by Thursday! (Davids Bridal takes a minimum of 1month and would charge you more than double what they charged here) They called me to keep me in the loop as far as what was needing to be done and their prices were extremely fair for the work needing to be done. I am a sucker for good customer service and great business practices. Yesterday, on the day I had an event to attend I split my pants!!! I called over to the Rio Cleaners and expecting to hear that a seamstress would not be able to help me in my hour of need. On the contrary. They told me to come right over. They took my pants and had me wait in the changing room. I swear, it was 30 seconds later and my perfectly re sewn pants were all done. Best part: when I went to pay they were like "you don't need to pay for that." I was SHOCKED and they in a five minute interaction changed my day around!! I live an hour and half the other direction from them and work "sort of" close by. But trust me, I will be bringing in my dry cleaning. If they can go the extra mile like that, I can drive 5 minutes out of my way. One of the worst places! Turned in a jacket for them to dry clean. Three days later I return to pick it up...and the stains are still there. Guy tries to clean it and can't! He then tries to be a "nice" guy and take 15% off. I tell him I think 15 dollars for a dry clean with only 15% off is somewhat steep. The woman in the back then runs out and says that it's not their fault the stain didn't come out. They tried and the 15 dollars is fair because they "tried". I laughed, paid, and walked out! They just lost SIX people's business (I referred my whole household to go there). BUT NOT ANYMORE! Horrible business. And rude customer service! read more

I wouldn't trust Rio Cleaners with the lent from my pocket much less any item you want back in good condition. "GO F#*K yourself!" describes my experience with the owner Joe. in fact, those are the WORDS THAT CAME FROM THE OWNERS MOUTH! (I must say it has quite a catchy ring for a slogan) The last week of Dec. I had a new Cashmere beanie cleaned for the first time. After the holidays and the weather in L.A. turned cool I went to wear my beanie only to find a hole. The hole is in the exact place the employee punched through my cap with a safety pen. Instead of simply offering to take a look and seeing if they could patch the cashmere cap up, the owner of Rio added that he was doing me a favor and going above and beyond what they normally do. That is when my issue turned into issues. I kindly explained to the owner that although I appreciate the gesture it is unacceptable to attempt to shift blame onto the customer. In my opinion that is not customer service. I further explained that I understood he valued and entrusted his employee not to damage items, but we are all human and prone to make the occasional mistake. To be told the hole was made by me is inaccurate as I stood there watching with my own two eyes for my item to be finished and even told the young employee not to worry about pinning the item to a hanger. She ignored my request. and at the time it didn't much bother me besides the fact of being pressed for time due to my cap not being ready when promised. Back on the phone: I'm now at the point of having to speak louder ( never yelling ) so I can talk over Joe and try to have my point of view heard and hopefully understood. I even was polite about it, "Sir, you need to stop speaking so I don't have to talk louder for you to understand the situation." The real issue comes from the rudest business owner on this side of the hill. I was told "... to take care of your anger management issues before you come back to my store." He has "been doing this since I was 22 years old and I train my associates, that is how I know they did no damage." Then the MANAGER / OWNER, Joe, tells me the CUSTOMER, "Go F#*K yourself!". (I don't know karate but I know crazy... some people just get the blood boiling) I informed him that I was at the point of standing in front of his store with a sign informing the public of the situation. It's how a business reacts to the one mistake they make versus the hundreds of satisfactions that shows their true colors. My incident with Rio Cleaners may be rare, but I ask you, how will you be treated when you are the one in a million? The owner does not respect his customers, their items, or their money. The owner of Rio Cleaners does not stand behind the quality of the services his establishment provides. read more

I had a stain and they told me it probably wasn't going to come out. I knew that going in. Sometimes stains won't come out because of the type of fabric and the kind of stain. I used a Yelp deal here about a year ago to have a sheepskin rug cleaned. I had bought it for a great deal at the flea market, but part of that deal was because the rug had a stain on it. I called around to find a cleaners that could handle a large fur rug. Rio was very up front about how much it would cost, how long it would take, that it would need to air dry, etc. Very kind customer service as well. Haven't been back just because it's a drive for me, but if you're looking for a friendly cleaners, I'd recommend them. I recommend this place. I have a Dolce and Gabbana blouse that was ruined by another dry cleaners. I brought it into Rio Cleaners and spoke to the owner. She asked if I was willing to spend $6 on a "silk/sheen" process to try to repair my blouse. She informed me that the reason she was asking me if I was willing to spend $6 was because their was only a 50% chance the "silk/sheen" process would repair my blouse. The staff is really friendly, cleaned my garments successfully & given me a great price when I brought in armloads of (ridiculous) clothing to be cleaned. Wow. I bought the Yelp deal to try these guys out. The first batch of things I took them all came back looking great. They're about six miles away from where I live and there are plenty of closer dry cleaners to my home but I just couldn't go to anyone else after my first great experience with Rio. I went back this week with a plethora of items ranging from silk blouses, to a cotton blazer, to my oh-so-precious Ralph Lauren duvet cover. Two days later everything was ready on time and looking spectacular. On top of that, the nice man who helped ring me up insisted that he take my things to my car for me. He hung them in the back seat and was such a gentleman. How's THAT for customer service??
