I wish that there wasn't one piece of meat on top of each chip. I ended up cutting them up. Some pieces were tough and giving me a hard time when I tried biting a chip. Took the whole strip of meat too. Again. I don't want to come here again for food. Waitress was very nice. She told me to try the stonedire margarita next time (not on the menu, but comes with grand marnier floater) Ambiance was fine. Food is mediocre at best. The margaritas are great! They have all different kinds to anyone's liking. The service is usually very good and friendly. It is a bit noisy there but the colors and decor are not the typical Mexican theme, a little more classy. If you haven't been then go and try the Salmon Yucatan. Delicious! read more

The restaurant is very nice. It's large with nice decor and plenty of outdoor seating. The starter chips and salsa are great. Thin, restaurant style chips and a very tasty salsa. I ordered the grilled relleno with beef fajita and substituted the arroz Blanco for the standard rice. The margaritas menu is extensive and I wish I had ordered the margarita flight so that i could have had a variety. I did ordered the jalapeño margarita and it was very good. Unfortunately, my entree is not what I expected. The Chile relleno's only flavor was from the beef fajita but the waxy cheddar cheese on top was flavorless as was the green sour cream sauce on top. My substitute arroz Blanco was just boiled white rice with a few kernels of corn with absolutely no flavor. The most disappointing were the charro beans. The beans are served in a small bowl and are covered with tortilla strips....why? And they had no flavor AT ALL. Basically, beans boiled in water without any seasonings. My experience was weird. I parked in the Togo section and then called and notified them I was there. Then sat there for about 10/12 minutes and nobody ever brought me my food. So I eventually went inside and then had to stand there some more for about 3/5 minutes. In order to get my food. I was not dressed and that's the reason I placed my order online. Overall the chicken tortilla soup is delicious. But the portion size is ridiculously small for 10.81. I believe it's a 6-8 oz. Horrific service ever!! We booked a birthday party for 35 people & they wouldn't allow us to put the tables together or closer! The excuse was we have other parties! The cost was $22 per person!! However, one of the servers allowed my friend to order from the regular menu then tried to charge her the $22 when what she ordered was approximately $10 less on the regular menu!! There was an argument between my friend & management! They insisted she pay the $22 which another guy friend ended up paying! They charged $100 for 24 sopa pillas which is F'n ridiculous!! This is a Mexican restaurant nothing extravagant!! At least the combination fajitas were good! The Tex Mex combo is disgusting & overpriced!! Went to Rio Mambo last night with my partner for his sister's birthday. It was dark yet intimate inside, which is suitable for date night or a birthday party. I ordered the drinks in the photos, and literally all of them were amazing! I can't even recommend a single one because the quality is that good. They taste great and are strong which is always nice! We ordered the queso (didn't take a picture). However, it was not very good and I wouldn't order it again (unless it's the queso blanco, which I prefer to regular queso). I ordered the Enchiladas Chapalas, a new type of enchilada on the menu. It's basically like a cheese enchilada but with some type of smoky, salsa-like sauce. Whatever it was, it tasted so good!!! The black beans and rice were on point! Our server was wonderful, and she ensured we were taken care of. I really wish Rio Mambo were in Dallas because we would go way more often! I visited Rio Mambo 3 nights ago. Awesome service! Great atmosphere considering it was about half an hour till closing. Yet, I left there saying to myself "I could make better Mexican food with my hands tied behind my back"! Yet 3 days later upon eating the to go order I said to myself, "Wow this is really Good! Our waitress Mia was sweet and attentive. They allowed me to bring my dog onto the patio which I loved. Brought her her own water bowl and everything. This place is great. Actually got it to-go during Covid, and the service and food were so great that we came back after Covid to dine in. We were not disappointed. The service was top notch. We have been here so many times and have had great service and fantastic food. It was disappointing today, unfortunately. We like to bring my elderly dad out once a week because his health is failing and we want pleasant lasting memories. It also helps him to get out away from his house. We arrived and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. We watched as everyone around us was seated and the entire waiting room emptied out. And then we waited and waited. Finally I went to ask if they maybe had the wrong name or number. My sister had given them my name and number. After having waited 30 minutes, she told me there was a shift change and it would be another 20 minutes. I looked and there was about ten empty tables at this point. I was shocked that they couldn't just seat us and we could have waited at a table for a waitress or waiter to come on duty. I returned to my party with the bad news. When I looked back at the hostess stand, two of the hostess were glaring at me while talking to a woman who later turned out to be our waitress. Finally, after a 45 minute wait, we were seated. The hostess threw the menus down on the table and ignored me as I sat down. They gave us a fold up table, the only fold up table in the dining room. The waitress was ok. She disappeared several times for many minutes at a time. She only refilled our drinks near the end of the meal. The chips she gave us were basically a bowl of broken pieces of tortillas. The food was delicious but I did notice that my lettuce, tomatoes and cheese for my tacos were just purple cabbage (weird) and a few tiny piece of cheese and no tomatoes. The beans were amazing and the tacos I had were delicious. I wanted to call the manager over but decided after being there for two hours- enough was enough. And they do Togo alcohol which is 10/10!!!! The chips n salsa were good im very picky about salsa theirs is tasty! The guac is okay could use more like and cilantro and I also don't like how little they give you! The fajitas were lacking flavor but were tolerable for sure. I was excited to try this popular restaurant. I had fajitas. They did not even resemble steak or any kind of proper fajita meat. They were a bland gray color with a few grill marks. It did not taste grilled & it did not taste like steak. it wasn't cooked right. It was like mystery meat chewy with raw parts of it. No flavor--so sad and disappointing. Complete waste of money. The refried beans and rice were both sad and disappointing as well. Tasted like they had been seasoned with maybe a little bit of seasoned salt and nothing else. There were also some refried black beans which tasted just like the other ones, equally bland and salty. It was just all terribly disappointing. My friend had the shrimp enchiladas and the shrimp on top were good. That was the only good thing. The enchilada itself was kind of rubbery.
