Chicken fajitas are fine, nothing special. This is a fine meal for the price, but nothing will wow you. A fort worth classic, so its probably worth going once! I do like the fresh chips and salsa, especially the individual salsa bowls! Probably the 3.4 star average this place receives is fair.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is decorated so lovely for the holiday season![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As always The Original is a great choice for lunch or dinner. There is parking in the lot behind the building and street parking. The salsa is fantastic and they sell it by the jar. The corn chips and corn tortillas are the bomb! Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We did not feel rushed and our drinks were always refilled on time.

Incredible food and really great service! We went there late to have dinner with our family; pretty large party and they accommodated us perfectly. We used to go there plenty of times when it was formerly El Rancho Grande. The chips here are SO good idk what they do to their tortillas but I love them and am still mad I didn't order a bag to go. My only cons are that it was a bit pricey (we spent over $200 for a family of 5) and [[HIGHLIGHT]]my daughter has a medical stroller; where we were seated did not have any ramps to get where our table was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just for the prices alone, we prob won't be back with our family again for a while-- but it's definitely worth a date night splurge to eat there!

Well don't try to take a group to the Original at 8pm, you will find they are already closed even though the hours posted say till 9pm. Manager did come to door and say basically we closed you are not worth us staying open past 8pm...I asked her don't you need all the business you can get. Yep, but not today. Got it, just took the Original off my list forever. From the looks of it they are killing themselves.

Fort Worth's Oldest restaurant. A historic restaurant serving delicious TexMex food in the heart of old downtown Fort Worth since 1926. The Roosevelt Special- We had meals fit for a president: "a world famous" cheese enchilada with chili, 1 beef taco and 1 bean chalupa. It is a big beautiful plate of food. Check the pictures. It is listed on the menu as "The Roosevelt Special." This is the restaurant's signature dish that was created in honor of Franklin D Roosevelt who visited the restaurant in 1936. Tasty spicy flavorful food. The chips, and salsa are exceptionally good too. Thin crispy chips fresh salsa and salsa picante with bite. A beautifully decorated interior that mixes Mexican, and a little TexMex décor with the building's historical ambiance. Very comfortable, with a warn relaxing feel. Excellent attentive service. An while you are there explore downtown Fort Worth. The Roosevelt Special is recommended on your first visit.

    Burrito and one puffy taco

I've been wanting to visit The Original Del Norte for some time, and today, it finally came to fruition. I knew a restaurant that was nearly a hundred years old would be good, and it was good. The puffy tacos were excellent, as were the beans (my favorite thing on my plate, actually). The service was super friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant space was very nice, with lots of traditional Mexican decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had a separate bar area, as well as more dining space upstairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have Happy Hour, early dining, and weekday specials. I will go back

Service was GREAT!!!!!! 5stars on service 100%!!! Sophie was on point, she is very attentive! Never had to look for her, she was there everytime you need something. The thing is, I never had to ask for anything because she provided us w everything we need without asking. Even things we don't think we need, she brought it to the table for us. She is also super sweet. I think if we come back it would be because of her. Food was ok. People rave about the chips but ehh I definitely had better chips than here. Food was plentiful but that's not always a good thing. I need quality not quantity. I ordered Chile reyeno which was ok, I can taste the eggs so strong on it. And husband ordered Rosevelt plate. And it was also mediocre. So 2stars for food. After all 4stars experience because of Sophie 100%! Keep it up!

I ordered take out and sat at the bar while I waited for my entree.Ordered two drinks while I waited, got the one at the top of the menu and a skinny margarita and they tasted exactly the same ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they got the job done and were fine. Food: I got the enchiladas three ways with steak. You can take the regular three sauces or choose just one if you'd like. Green sauce is the best, white sauce is pretty good, and the red mole is fine but I wish I would have swapped it out with the spicy almost (orange) sauce that comes with the seafood enchiladas. That sauce looks so good! My partner did not like the red sauce at all, again I thought it was fine just not amazing like the other two. Beans and rice are good, nothing special. Nothing wrong with the chips and salsa just run of the mill. Other thoughts: I wish I had just ate my food at the bar instead of ordering take out. Bar seats are comfortable, views of a tv for anyone sitting at the bar, and it's just a nice comfortable atmosphere in there. The hostess and bar tenders I interacted with provided great service.

We were greeting warmly as we were shown to our table. Soni, our server, for our visit introduced herself and asked if we had any questions about the menu. Since we weren't too hungry, we decided to order the Appetizer Sampler plate, thinking that would be the perfect combination of yummies for us. While waiting for our appetizer, we enjoyed the chips and salsa. I especially LOVE Chuy's Cilantro Jalapeño dip. It's addictive and so delicious. When Soni brought the Sampler plate to our table our eyes got as big as dinner plates. The platter was huge and there was enough to share with 4 people not just 2 who weren't too hungry. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
