I arrived expecting to receive service, but I was turned away and told they wanted to close early. What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that I was the only person of color there, and I couldn't help but feel that I was being treated differently because of my race. If the salon was truly closing early, that should have been communicated respectfully and consistently to everyone--not handled in a way that leaves a customer feeling singled out. I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I believe every customer deserves to be treated with the same courtesy and professionalism, regardless of their race or background.
