Terribly disorganized. Nice staff but needs the owner/manager to step up. Been here twice and always chaotic. Customers waiting not sure where the line is people looking frustrated. Second time called our order in got there and was told the pizza was ready but no one had cooked the $10 onion rings so a "few" more minutes. 20 minutes goes by and someone remembers us standing there and decides to start the OR. The girl on the phone remembers and runs over to take OR out of fryer then goes back to phone 10 more minutes and we're handed our burnt $10 OR. We left with them and our now cold pizza. In town for the annual Sea Gull Century bike ride & car show - we consulted with Yelp for great places to carb load. This bistro has strong reviews on Yelp & Google. We decided to try their signature Ratatouille pizza. It was a 16" wood fired masterpiece...full of fresh veggies & a tangy balsamic glaze. They also figured out a way to elevate their chunky garlic bread. We dined sufficiently & had the carbs required to execute a 100 mile bike ride 12 hours later. A customer had to clean the table themselves and wipe it down in order to eat there. I found that a bit odd since the staff wasn't overwhelmed at that point and could've quickly cleaned it. The restaurant is smaller than I expected so the dining room tables are limited. Bathrooms are locked and you must ask the staff for the key. Food quality - the Milan pizza is up there with the best pizza I've ever eaten. We ordered the 28" pizza & each slice literally took up an entire rectangular plate by itself. My Husband comes here twice a year on his Annual Golfing Trips, he told me how good it was so I had to try it. And he was right, delicious flavor, fresh and made to order. Margarita is my favorite Pizza and this is one of the best I've had. The Italian Hogie was good too, lots of meat. It's located on the side of Burger King so it looks like it's on unit, but it separate. The staff was friendly too. We will be back next time we are here. read more

Ripieno's certainly lives up to it's name. I can't say enough about this place. We found it a few years ago and the food quality and service has stayed consistently fantastic over the years. It is cozy inside with the wood fire oven that gives it great ambiance. I was down for a couple house this Friday to check on our condo progress and I didn't consider going anywhere else. I even brought food back to Annapolis for the boy child. Highly recommend the Rosa Pizza if you looking for a little different type of pizza (spicy, no cheese, and beautiful garlic cloves). The Ripieno's cheesesteak is messy, and absolutely yummy (think Italian cheesesteak). My son's favorite is the chicken parm sub. We have not gotten one bad item from them in well over 5 years. Also tried their 11" Philly cheesesteak- loved the toasted sub roll and it was packed with tons of meat and cheese. I called in the order and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The rating reflects some allowance for regional variance in Italian food prep. I'd have rated it lower in the Tri-State NYC area but given how far we are from Arthur Avenue it was surprisingly good. You won't go here for the ambience. This is a very casual place where you order at the counter and they bring the food to whatever table you select. I had the eggplant parm. The cashier/waitress said I couldn't get a platter because they only had the sandwich type today. Apparently there's a difference around here. The platter type is sliced thin but is gluten free somehow. The sandwich type is sliced thick with the skin still on like in Chinese food but is breaded. I asked if I could have the sandwich style in a platter. She said OK. I like the thin type better and normally thick eggplant is going to have a foul taste but I enjoyed mine. My kid wanted the veggie lasagna but they weren't serving that today. So he asked for a slice of pizza which they display at the counter. They weren't serving those today either. The waitress said he could have a personal pizza. He asked for a Margherita pizza. She said they don't do that on personal, which doesn't make sense but OK. He got a cheese pizza. I'd call the pizza a California style. But it was still pretty good. It was a little salty and had a slight sharpness to it like either they used a bit too much parm or there was a third cheese that normally doesn't go on pizza. But the kid enjoyed it and I had half a slice and it wasn't bad, again, given the location. Overall, if you're visiting from up North and you want what you're used to then you won't find it here. But that's why you travel, right? You want what you expect, McDonald's is right next door. You wanna see how they do Italian on the beach in Maryland, go to this place. read more

Recently stopped for lunch to try a steak sub sandwich with cooper cheddar and mushroom pizza. The cheesesteak sub was outstanding, highly recommended. Appears they bake their own bread which held all of the steak sub contents perfectly. Cooper cheddar complimented the delicious beef perfectly as well as fried onion, light tomatoes and lettuce. Stopped here on my first day on the island. Decided each day I would try a slice of a different place - but with the boys we decided to add a boli. I ordered for pickup and drove in. Odd location, as it shares a building with a Burger King, and walking in you have to walk through the BK drive thru line. Price was good - ordered a 16" pizza with pepperoni and meatball, and a cheese stromboli. The Stromboli was by far the best part of this and one of the best I have had on memory. The ricotta blended nicely and was incredibly good. The pizza was good as well - though next time I won't add meatball to it. Was a request from the team and even though I like meatball - this just didn't jive as well. I really wanted to give this place a zero but I could not. They only sell one size cup for drinks and I did not want to give my kids a giant size soda I asked I could get a small cup because I bought two large soft drink and I was willing to pay for the small cups but the cashier said we aren't allowed to do that which annoyed me a little. I ordered half Philly cheesesteak which completely disintegrated and lacked salt and pepper and the cheese is really liquid. We ordered a full pie of the Milan which was good and ordered a personal pie of just regular which was excellent and I highly suggested just getting the regular cheese pie because I could taste the San Marzano tomorrows take my advice get the regular plain cheese pie it's a star. read more

5/5 - been here 10+ times. Their pizza is absolutely the best in OC, but my 2 favorite items on the menu are their bruschetta (amazing pesto and perfectly soft yet toasted bread) and their meatball sub. Surprising new thing I learned - They now serve coffee and tea drinks. I LOVE chai lattes. I've tried a million different types, I make my own from concentrate and I've even totally made my own from scratch. The chai latte at Ripieno's is absolutely amazing. Continue to keep impressing! My husband does not like leftovers, and he doesn't have the same love for vegetables that I do, either -- so the fact that we fought over 2 cold slices of broccoli rabe pizza the next day should tell you something about the quality of the food here. It was truly otherworldly: chewy crust with lots of char, thick dollops of ricotta, drizzled generously with garlicky oil. It comes in two sizes: 16 (which is bigger than you think) and 28 (which is insane -- more than three times as large.) I would love to give Ripieno's five stars, but they are terribly disorganized. They don't take online hours and don't have voicemail, so you have to call over and over again, in our case for well over an hour. Then when we arrived for pickup, there was no pizza -- they had to re-make the whole thing. This kind of situation really bugs me, because they have so much potential, but given their outstanding pizza I just can't give it any fewer than four stars. Regardless of the administrative wonkiness, our goal for the next OC trip is to order and finish a 28-inch pizza, all 616 square inches of it. (Yes, I calculated. And you know what I used? PI[E]. The sauce is perfectly seasoned and flavorful. This pizza is the best in OC. Cheesesteak- Get the half. Their subs are all made on home made bread. This thing weighed about 3 pounds. Fresh bread, shaved ribeye, provolone and I opted for the mushrooms and peppers. They do like to stuff their subs, this thing was a monster. One of the best cheesesteaks in OC. Italian sub- another monster. Fresh bread, perfect meat topping ratio. I got it "loaded" with LTMO, hots. I ordered the half this time and couldn't finish it. The half is 12 inches roughly. The pizza and cheesesteaks here are DELICIOUS! The owner is frequently in the back making the pizza and he takes pride in what he serves. The store is very clean and they have a small outdoor space to sit and enjoy a fresh beach breeze. I wish this place was closer, but I'm glad it's not(I'd be here all the time). Also recommend the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie 11" and Meatball Sub 11". Great service, happy servers were very nice. The menu is very extensive and they serve Italian desserts, including gelato. Unfortunately, we did not have enough room for dessert. That's ok! We left happy and full. Very clean dining area and restrooms.
