    Tavern Burger
    Carmen L.

The tavern burger is your classic American cheeseburger with fries. I also added avocado because I like to have that creaminess to balance out the cheese and beef. The fries were great. Nice and crispy and salted well. The sauce tastes like a mix on mayo and thousand island dressing. We also ordered calamari (very soggy do not recommend) and the brussel sprouts (very yummy and had a charred flavor). Apologies, I did not get to take a photo as they were shared plates. The seating was outside although we didn't get a table near the water, but more so on the side. Overall, it's a lovely restaurant with decent food. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Golden Butternut Harvest Salad (with grilled shrimp)

A short 5-minute walk from the Luma Hotel. Was somewhat busy for a Tuesday night (nothing going on at the Chase Center). El Diablo cocktail was very tequila forward; really tasty. The mussels with fries were recommended to us so we tried it - mussels tasted fresh and the chorizo wine broth was very tasty. Had the golden butternut harvest salad with grilled shrimp and ate every single bite, it was so great! Our server was fantastic in always making sure we were well-taken care of. Would note that they close at 8:00 pm with kitchen taking last orders ~7:30 pm.

My work did a dinner here the other night and we had a great time. The appetizers food and drinks are so wonderful. Everything tasted great. The only thing that was kind of weird is I think we were still eating towards when they were closing and they started putting things away and trying to dim the lights to the point where the lights literally kept turning off so we were eating in the dark. My manager was not happy about this and kept talking about it after we'd left the restaurant because it's just weird behavior. I don't really know why they can't just close after the customers are actually outside it was just us and another small group. We paid $700 after taxes and tips for 10 people which is not bad in SF.

I love coming to this restaurant to enjoy a beautiful San Franciscan day. I personally just wanted a simple meal within my diet, but my friend enjoyed the delicious cheeseburger and fries. I opted for the buffalo chicken wings with the sauce on the side, and extra carrots and cucumbers on the side. Also, the Brussel sprouts were fantastic with the balsamic dressing. Our server Crystal was very sweet and treated us to a large scoop of ice cream for my birthday. Thank you ATwater for the wonderful birthday lunch!

    Huevos rancheros

I ordered the huevos rancheros, and it was not worth the price. This was the most white washed version of huevos rancheros. Usually, everything is mixed together, and ingredients were separated like they're serving a picky kid. I wouldn't come back here.

One of the rare places that still offers happy hour oysters for $1!!!! Came around 3 PM, and it was not busy. The parking lot next to it is $15. HAPPY HOUR (2-5 PM): $1 oysters (24-count limit), $1 jalapeño poppers, and $1 off on drinks. Service: Workers were friendly and attentive Ambiance: Had nice outdoor seating by the ocean, and the interior had a rustic modern vibe to it. Drake Bay oysters $1 (4/5): These were freshly served with rosé mignonette sauce on ice. These were small but had great flavor. Jalapeno poppers $1 (3/5): Tasted like the frozen ones you get from the store. Nothing particularly special The Ricky $8 (3/5): Cucumber, lime, soda water. This was VERY heavy in lime and some cucumber. Pineapple ginger beer $9 (4/5): Pineapple, lime juice, ginger beer, cinnamon simple syrup, mint. This was delicious and refreshing

I don't recall if this dish was called but my wife enjoyed it very much

We stopped at this place before attending the Giants game. As we walked up, they asked if we had a reservation and we did not. They were nice enough to see us and we got a beautiful view of the bay on their back balcony. The staff was great. I think they did a wonderful job making us feel welcome. I got the crabcake eggs Benedict and I loved it. I watched a lot of food come out and everything looked really good. We randomly picked this location and we are glad we did. We decided that we are going to make this stop before every Giants game. Of course we will make a reservation next time. There's parking all over the place because of the stadium, but it is paid to park. The great thing is, you can walk straight to the stadium right after you've had a wonderful meal.

firstly, whatta spot! if you ask me, Atwater Tavern is a local gem, always a reliable option in the neighborhood. you can expect a crowd during baseball season, and it's always fun to chat up the locals and hear travel stories from the people stationed at the nearby dock/ships. it's a lot nicer than a dive bar despite giving the dive bar vibes, and the food is way tasty! we love sitting at the bar because you can see the TVs, chat with others, and you get great service. the bartenders are friendly and welcoming, and they always make us laugh--shoutout to Chris, Jordan, Oscar, and Diane!! if you're up for a bite, on-the-water view, and some good conversation, be sure to head over there before 8pm--their kitchen closes at 7:30 pretty consistently!

Took my dad for brunch before the Giants game. We sat around back on this lovely morning. Everything was good today, except that they were out of the SF City lager . No problem, they had Fort Point FSK. Dad had fish and chips, did not finish. I had the chicken sandwich, nice and cheesy. I'd go back for the full bar.

Stayed at the Luma Hotel across the street and valet pointed us in this direction. We wanted to finish watching the Giants game. It's located next to Port of SF & SFG / GSW parking. There is dining area and bar inside. An outside patio right on the bay. There is also a roof top bar/restaurant. Noticed a "private party" sign too. We were met by a nice host and sat a short stool-bar are at the bar. Ordered an aperole spritz and Margherita Puzza. Good menu and nice cocktail menu too. Can't wait to come back.

We rented out a portion of the entire place. Came here for a happy hour and promptly ordered my favorite dish on the menu- raw oysters!! This place did not disappoint at all, they were flavorful and fresh and easily the most enjoyable part of my afternoon (especially since it was competing with the Giants getting crushed by the Royals). Parking is quite rough- my friends paid $50 for it. We walked over from the Caltrain station to Oracle Park, then to ATwater Tavern!). Typically with restaurants like these that have prime real estate I find that they can be lazy with quality, but I enjoyed dining at ATwater immensely. The strawberry lemonade I ordered was really fresh and had real pulp in it. The paella was good, but the rice could've had a bit more tomato or saffron!! There was SO much seafood and protein in this dish, I was in heaven. I was in calamari/shrimp/mussel/clam/chicken heaven. We also ordered lobster ravioli, calamari, and there was popcorn/fried chicken sliders for the entire party. These were a bit stale and not seasoned very well by my standards, I also found the popcorn to have too much of a fake butter aftertaste. I would stick to the seafood here. I will say though, the day we went was blazing. Definitely unexpected for SF. Shaded spots were difficult to find/only covered half of our party- definitely bring protection if you choose to dine outdoors and enjoy sunny weather (be it in the form of an umbrella or sunscreen).

Great spot to get oysters, they had an amazing $1 oyster happy hour when we went and we sat on the back patio. It's 24 per table limit, the oysters were on the smaller side but very fresh and flavorful, not so much "buttery" creamy type oysters but the more high salinity, briny, sharper flavor which is perfect when they're smaller. Their view looks out over the water, the funk rock music they were playing perfectly fits the vibes. Just nice laid back chill seafood beer vibes. Our waitress was great, very personable and funny. Would come back again!

"Potato gnocchi" that was the texture of mashed potatoes
    Leana L.

I've lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years, I've dined at this restaurant pre-pandemic and post-pandemic, and I was excited to bring my family here after seeing the Cirque de Soleil show next door. It has been a couple years since I've dined here (I tend to cook at home a lot); however this was probably the most disappointing experience at any restaurant in recent memory. We were promptly seated upon arrival in the upstairs dining area (an extension that was created by a nicely heated, clear tent). We ordered the potato gnocchi, ahi tuna sandwich + fries, ahi salad, and paella. All our food came out in great time. Unfortunately, after the paella was placed in front of my dad, the server turned to walk away, then paused for a second to mention "be careful, it's hot" at literally the same time my dad yells, "ouch!" because he had just touched the serving dish. I've burned myself in the kitchen enough times to know it's important to put it under cool running water, so I had him stick his finger in the water glass at least until the server was able to fetch some ice. When a dish is that hot, it's critical that warning is given AS the dish is arriving at the table, not after. And a new water glass was not offered... My sister's potato gnocchi looked suspiciously mushy to me when it was placed on the table, but when I looked over to what she was eating, I confirmed my suspicions. The potato gnocchi was literally the texture of mashed potatoes. I don't know how that even slipped through the pass. When I brought it to our server's attention, she offered to replace it with a different entree and fix the bill accordingly. my sister opted for the impossible burger + fries. Overall, the food was pretty disappointing. I tried some of the paella and it was good, but not amazing (and maybe a little too salty). My ahi tuna sandwich was almost tasteless. The slaw had no flavor and neither did the fries. Also, ketchup wasn't even offered when fries were being delivered to the table -- we had to ask for those after the fact. My sister didn't even finish her impossible burger. And my mom's ahi salad, was also pretty basic looking. On another note, the bathrooms needed some attention with the wastebasket overflowing and the soap dispenser out of soap. I miss the old ATwater Tavern that I remembered and can only hope it gets better.

They started by sitting us on the outside deck but close to the wall without a view. It's a covered patio with heaters, so even on a foggy night, not too cold. When a guest left one minute later on the balcony close to the water, we changed seats. No one got seated in our previous bad seats the whole time we were there. Strike one. We began our meal with a $16 margarita, which was tasty but fairly small. Husband had two martinis and I had an Aperol spritz later. These four drinks accounted for about $70 of our bill, even though it was happy hour. Strike two. We asked about the $1.50 oyster HH special. Were they small and from Washington state? Our waiter Alex answered yes to both. When our dozen oysters arrived, they were huge, gritty, slimy and inedible. The waiter even said they were "bigger than usual" and he liked them smaller. When we only ate one and said we didn't like them, he didn't take them away nor comp it. Strike three. One the positive side, we split a New England clam chowder soup ($12) and he brought an extra little bowl. The soup included bacon, parsley, oyster crackers and was creamy and very good. I had the ahi tuna ($22), with seasame, soy, avocado, ginger, scallion, and a good amount of wonton chips. Generous portion and fresh fish, but the ahi could have been sliced smaller. Husband had the cerviche ($24) which had a nice serving of seafood, with local rockfish, gulf prawns, avocado, lime, cilantro, and corn tortilla chips. He enjoyed it. Service was pretty slow but they were busy. If I was to go again, I'd stay for the views and not the food.

Service was pretty quick and friendly, but you could tell they were trying to push us on selling drinks/appetizers. I felt like the service staff's mood might've changed a little after we were fine with only water (shocker I know, we usually don't order $17 cocktails...). Other appetizer menu items were similar in pricing if not more expensive than entrees themselves. I ordered an Arroz con Mariscos and a Pollo a la Brasa, and was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes given the upscale restaurant vibe. I was expecting a lot less food, but turns out they gave regular portions, and boy were they GOOD. The paella is a standard paella, and it was very flavorful. Although it came with only a couple shrimp and other seafoods, the portion was still fulfilling for 1 person. To be fair, it's not really portioned to share unless you order a ton of other dishes. The half chicken was one of the best chickens I've had. The seasoning on the skin and the crispiness from the oven perfectly compliments each other, and my mouth is watering as I'm typing this. It's pretty savory, and the flavors soak through into the breast, so you know it's been marinating for a while. The fries reminded me of McDonald's fries cuts, and the salad was sweet and sour. An appetizer wasn't necessary for us, but if you're hungry, then definitely consider ordering one. The vibe was very cozy, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that since we ordered only 2 dishes, the service team kinda rushed us after ~45min of sitting and dining. To be fair, other tables had at least one cocktail per person, but at close to $20 per drink, we could not justify the price. A solid 4 stars!

Phenomenal breakfast. We arrived on a Sunday at 8:30 and had a 45-minute wait. We got seated at…read morethe counter which I loved, because it was roomy and we got to see the cooks in action. The most popular order seemed to be the plow which came with a heaping of food and is large enough to share. I ordered a scrambled egg on the side with a honey butter biscuit while my husband ordered the prosciutto and Gruyere toast and a lemon ricotta pancake. The potatoes are an absolute must have. They're boiled then fried so they're soft and buttery inside with crispy edges on the outside and perfectly seasoned. The toast was a homemade loaf sliced thick, toasted with a slab of Gruyere on top that's melted, prosciutto, a beautiful sunny side egg, chili crisp, and some greens. The pancake on the side was yummy. The wait is worth it so don't arrive hangry because there will be a wait and potentially a long one depending on when you arrive. Order the potatoes. Order another side of them if you're sharing because you'll fight over them.

Moshi Moshi is a 38 years old legacy sushi place in Dogpatch SF. We tried a bunch of stuff and some…read morewere hits, some misses. - Bacon wrapped mochi: We started with this. Honestly didn't like it. Just fat and greasy, felt a bit heavy to start the meal. - Hamachi Bomb: Best dish of the night. There were 2 pieces only, but flavorful. The hamachi was wrapped around rice with yuzu. - Rainbow Spider roll: A special, monster size roll. It's got tempura soft shell crab, avocado, and cucumber then topped with a ton of sashimi and unagi sauce. Super filling. - Red Dragon roll: Solid if you like spicy tuna and salmon. A bit sour idk why - Haleakala Maki: My 2nd favorite. Albacore poke with the ogo seaweed and red clay salt had such a unique flavor, then top with torched albacore and spicy garlic oil. Honestly, 10/10. For drink, I had the El Fuego de Japan. It's margarita with jalapeño tequila and yuzu, I didn't impress much.

I eyed their Bento Box, in which I chose the Chicken Teriyaki, and the Tempura for my items. It comes with a salad, and a scoop of rice. All that for $20. My food came very hot! I was so pleased! My tempura was particularly great, with a thinner batter, and crispy and hot. I also got the chicken teriyaki, which was chicken breast grilled, and quite good, just a little more on the heavier grilled side. Still juicy though. Portions were a little small here, but overall I loved the food. I will have to come back for another Bento box someday, or bring my family here after work. It's a cute and cozy little restaurant, modern inside, different from how I envisioned in a good way! For some reason not exactly what I was expecting from what I saw on the outside. The service was very friendly and talkative, but also took a few minutes to me to be helped as I think the host also doubled as a waiter. Would definitely return for the lunch hour!
