Well... multiple signs around the casino state that there is happy hour everyday. Once you get to the actual restaurant they tell you it's only Monday through Friday. Very much false advertising. The only reason we decided to eat there was for a deal on food. Who wants to spend $15-$20 for mediocre Mexican food. The waitress was super nice and awesome. Just an unfair situation. Go get some Taco Bell and bring it back to the casino. Then just eat in your room. There's also no air conditioning and they have all the doors open. Oops. NEXT. Adding to this. I checked out this restaurant while staying @ Harrahs for the weekend & I could not have been more pleased. The food was authentic, fresh & delicious. They did not have outrageous prices for the food or drinks & the restaurant was clean. The staff was attentive & friendly...I would come back to Harrahs just for this restaurant alone! read more

Not impressed. Came to the casino for my birthday. Decided to try the cantina instead of the buffet. To start, the chips are served with three salsa and cheese sauce. Two of the salsas were flavorless but the cheese sauce was good. Ordered a ginger peach margarita and it was missing the peaches. The limes used to garnish our drinks were brown. Food came. All three stars are for the delicious margaritas and good food. If you make it to happy hour, you will be thrilled with their offerings of 40% off appetizers and large margaritas for only $6! But I will say the service leaves much to be desired. It took 10 minutes for our server to greet us, and after that we had three different people come by to deliver our drinks, appetizer then meal. It took quite some time for the food and drinks to come out and after dropping off to go boxes, we waited over 15 minutes to get our check so I finally had to find a waiter to let ours know we wanted to pay for our meal. Our original server had left so we were being passed around. Now if they were short handed or busy, I could understand but neither was the case. Hoping this isn't how all customers are treated so I may give them one more chance to win me over. We used to really enjoy "Rita's". The carnitas, carne asada tacos, carnitas burrito, surf & turf (steak & lobster)... are very good. Went in last night for dinner and the first thing we noticed was the little cups of different salsas and queso dip was gone! They still have the queso but now charge $6!! I wasn't super hungry so thought I'd order their Tequito's! They're gone! Ordered a taco plate and asked for the "House" beans!!! They're gone!! How do u get rid of the "House" item! They have black or refried. Black were ok and refried not much flavor!!! When the new menus were printed of course the prices went up!! Which is nothing new these days! Get less & charge more!! Very disappointed!! I find it quite amusing that the response I got was telling me/us to try someplace else!!! I'm not the only one with these complaints/concerns when reading other reviews!!! Unfortunately was not as good as I expected. The waiter was great. The salsa was very good. I love the variety. The ceasar salad was not great. The dressing has no flavor at all. It's supposed to be ceasar, cilantro ... tasted like mayonnaise. I added chicken, it was over cooked and super dry. The cheese was even more bland. After I turned in the menu, I asked for guacamole and was told that a side would be either .50 cents for the stuff made in the morning or $4.00 for fresh made.. I requested the fresh...well it came, looked good, but again it was very bland, no flavor at all.. and it was $8.99. This review is based on their food truck. My friends & I were excited to try this place out because it was late & everything was closing by 9. We figured it was cheap & easy to grab. The menu says "street tacos" but it wasn't even close to being a street taco. If you've had street tacos, you know damn well, carne asada tacos aren't made w/ground beef, nor does it have lettuce, sour cream, or tomato. Yup, I said what I said- ground beef. Taco Bell meat to be exact! Same meat, same seasoning. They even had this same meat inside their carne asada burrito. Now that's some b***shit. Harrahs is out in the boondocks, so we had no other choice & ate what we had. Three of us who ate the tacos & burritos ended up being constipated & having upset stomachs in the middle of night. It was terrible & I even felt bad for everyone else who was in line thinking they were going to get "street tacos." Totally false advertisement & big disappointment. Also, they had a lot of "we don't have this anymore for the day because we're closing in a hour." If your hours states you close at 9PM, then you should have everything until that very last minute. read more

The food in Ritas Cantina restaurant is good. But the food served from the Food Truck is so disgusting! In the beginning it used to be good but how it changed! We wasted our money in buying breakfast burritos. They were so tasteless and disgusting we had to throw them away. They stuff them with fake eggs and good luck finding any meat or bacon in them. They are not fit for human consumption and they are not cheap either. Don't waste your money at the Food Truck it is not worth it. But if you do, get the carne asada tacos which are mediocre. Host was not welcoming when we entered. He was also in the middle of wiping something down, with a spray bottle in hand. After seating us, he brings us some chips and salsa. Wow used to love it here but they got cheap! Don't know if it's management or what but no more free yummy queso sauce.....so sad.....cute little racks are gone and replaced with so so salsa. Went to the Chicago Concert at Harrah's Casino today. Wanted to eat before the concert so we chose Rita's Cantina. We got there at 6:30, so I asked would we have enough time before our 8:00 o'clock concert time. Of course was the reply. We got seated in about 17 min and ordered pretty quickly. The waitress asked if we were there for the concert, we said yes. No worries, we will rush your food order. Well that didn't happen. She came by twice to tell us our order was coming very soon. By the time we finally got our food, I had to ask for to go boxes since we did not have time to eat it. The concert started in 20 min on the other side of the casino. All they did was apologize. I even had to walk up to the front to pay the bill because she never came back to pick up our cc and bill. I talked with the person up front and he too just apologized. WELL, when we got to the concert entrance we were told we could not bring food into the venue and had to throw it away into the trash can. WHAT A WASTE. We looked around at other tables and saw that others who came in around same time as we did were also still waiting for their food. What a shame, it looked like a good place to eat. For a Mexican Food place in Southern California the food is not very good. The taquitos and burritos are subpar and the salsa tastes watered down. Put it this way, I hadn't eaten in 34 hours and was starving and I didn't finish the taquitos. Normally we love Mexican food but this tasted like New York's idea of Mexican food. I usually don't write reviews, but had to this time. we come to Harrahs often and have eaten at Ritas before with average results. After enjoying the pool for a couple of hours my wife and I were feeling Mexican food. We entered Ritas about 5:15 pm and were seated right away just outside on the patio. 4 people were seated on our left just finishing, and a couple on our right just getting drinks. we got chips and salsa immediately the girl didn't say anything to us just dropped it off and left. To make a long story shorter, we were never approached by a server. at 5:30 a couple were seated behind us and had a server right away by 5:35 they had drinks and ordered, it was like being in the Twilight Zone, they had appetizers by 5:45 and no one had said one word to us so we left. and I was so disappointed... read more

Order cucumber Margarita for $6 at happy hour. It was okay nothing exceptional. We also ordered the three for ten oyster shooters, OMG they are disgusting. First they came out lukewarm and in a gross tequila concoction, and the oysters didn't even taste fresh. I had to dump out the liquid into an adjacent lime serving dish and put a buttload of Tapatio just to choke them down. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos, they were not bad. Given that this place is located poolside they could do much better with the appetizer menu. The waiters should also know what the dishes taste like so they can do a better recommendation. If you're going to go here just go during happy hour and order a couple drinks and snack on the chips, at least the Salsas were decent. read more

Was very happy to see a Mexican restaurant at Rincon Casino. We tried it 2 weeks after it opened. They are very confused and disorganized. It took 10 minutes for a server to come get our drink order and another 10 to deliver the wrong size! The cadillac margarita was very good, there definitely was some grand marnier in it! The chip and dip very nice with several small containers of dips and variety of colorful chips. The chile relleno was the best I ever had as the wife's shrimp order. The food took too long to arrive and the restaurant was only 1/4 full. The band was playing too loud and we could not have a decent conversation. I guess they are trying to attract a younger crowd, but the drinks are too small for the price. We will try once more next month to see if they have improved on all services. read more

I give this place one star because the drinks were delicious but the service was not good. We purchased a cabana for the day. It was a fun environment and the pool bartenders were great. Our female bartender at Rita's cut off my friend because she was "too loud." My friend is Italian and a loud person so it was upsetting to see someone disrespected for being comfortable I. Their environment. She was coherent, not slurring, not falling asleep, not stumbling around the bar, just being herself. Yes, she's loud but if the bartender would've asked us to tone it down before cutting her off, no problem. It's a learning experience. Not like e money spent here. read more

The grilled fish taco was actually very good however the fried fish taco I could barely swallow because of the soggy batter. The margaritas were average. Wow! We were on our way back from Palomar Observatory and figured Harrahs Casino would have some inexpensive restaurants to eat so we stopped in and decided to eat at Rita's Cantina. Double Wow! My wife ordered Posole (which she makes using an old Native American recipe handed down by her mother); and I ordered the Fish Tacos Cabo San Lucas. By my wife's admission this posole was even better than hers (and she makes a damn good one); and my fish tacos were absolutely wonderful and crispy NOT soggy like so many I have had. Along with some quesadillas and a beer and the total was under $40. Our server Jamie was also very attentive and pleasant. A really nice lunch experience after way too many mediocre meals and mediocre servers while traveling over the years. Hats off to the chef! read more

We ordered all food and drinks when she finally came. A few minutes later they brought fresh chips and dipping salsas and a pitcher of margaritas...but it wasn't what we ordered. She said she would be back w proper margarita pitcher. We waited another 15 minutes for our drinks. This place wasn't very busy but they probably only had 2 servers on. I've been a server so I know that this kind of service is not okay. Their shrimp cocktail was fresh and delicious. The rest of the food was good....nothing spectacular. I had to add extra salt and sauce to my battered fish tacos to make it taste really good. Next time I'll just come for happy hour drinks and 40% off apps. Chips were stale so we asked if they had a different batch they just refried the chips with the same result just more oily... Ordered the tortilla soup and that was not up to par tasted like burnt mole.. My wife ordered the shredded beef chimichanga but it came out with carnitas and we were told it was beef.. I had order the carnitas taco and they tasted the exact same so no way it was beef...I'm a foodie so I know my food and love my meat..All in all not a good dinning experience starting the anniversary week off ...Guess we will be heading to downtown for dinner tomorrow... read more

Where do we start with this? Hmmm...food was good but service and management totally sub-par. We were told when seated, they were out of chips. Ok- no big deal. We proceeded to order and received our food. Lol - 2 out of our 4 taco orders were missing cilantro and onion. We were then told...well, they were running out of that too so could you share? REALLY? During CoVid, I'm supposed to share with another person at the table? Lol, our server went back in to try to see if the chef can make some up. He did come back with one additional serving. The other person declined. As we were finishing, Alejandro, the front of the house, began serving everyone around us chips and salsa AND skipped our table. When we waved him down, he said he-was busy seating other people. NP we would wait. When he came back and we said he gave everyone chips and salsa except us...he said oh yeah, I was just getting to your table. Very poor and will not be back.
