We visited 'Rita's while staying at the hotel. We were satisfied with the food, but the service was horrible. We waited for a long time for our food, which is why a 2 * is given. The waitress was 'nice', but she disappeared. While awaiting our bill, we waited forever...I got up & asked another server to find our waitress...she still didn't come out. Another party of 3 got up & left after waiting as long as we did. At one point, there were no wait staff in the restaurant except for the bartender. Go figure. We did enjoy the food, but our waitress should probably find another job. My boyfriend went to look for a manager, which, was unable to be found. The hostess was nice, although she was serving food along with the servers. There weren't that many people in the restaurant...so we were a bit perplexed that the servers all disappeared at one point. read more

5 stars for one reason and one reason only. The staff. We walked in the door at 8:58 on a Sunday with a group of 15 and they close at 9. The hostess said to wait while he asked if it was ok to seat us since they close in a minute. Next thing we know a guy with maracas is showing us to our table. Service was pretty good for being so late and the waitress had no problem splitting our check like 8 ways. Food was decent but walking in after they were about to close I'm happy it wasn't filled with spit. The place was clean and Chips come with 4 choices of salsa. They were out of jalapeño potatoes but substituted with a few fries and a slice of jalapeño on top. Not the best Mexican food ever but good for the price and they have a huge list of margaritas. Food was overpriced and not very good. My shrimp burrito was about the same size as rubios with as many shrimp but did not come with anything but shrimp lettuce and pico. I've eaten here many times in the past year & it's always been top notch! The multi colored chips & the 4 tiered different salsa bowls are a great start. Their lobster tacos are fantastic! But my fave has to be combo #3...tampiquena steak, tequila shrimp & your choice of enchilada (I always do crab). All that laying over a bed of grilled peppers & onions with rice, beans & warm tortillas...RIDICULOUSLY GOOD & FILLING! We are frequent flyers at Harrahs Rincon. We have eaten at Ritas before and enjoyed it.We went in and ordered our favorite surf and turf for 45 dollars and two Cadillac margaritas.For an appetizer we ordered ceviche.Yuk the fish was mushy and had a sour taste.definitely not fresh and the tiny few shrimp were in the bottom of the ceviche.We told the waitress and she had no response.We asked the steak to be cooked medium rare.Honestly it came charred and burned with no pink at all.The lobster was so tough I could barely cut through it with a steak knife.I asked for the manager.She took the plate of food back to the chef and took 30 minutes to come back and apologize and toos it off our bill all but the drinks.We were really disappointed especially because we saved our appetite for this special dinner.It was so good the first time. read more

Went with my family to Harrahs birthday and we are at Rita's. The server was pleasant but the food service was bad. My cousins enchilada plate came cold and it took them over 15 minutes to get her food once she sent it back. They gave her a free margarita for the inconvenience. Then three of my family members got food poisoning from the potatoes which were served as a side to the carne Asada torta. We had to call hotel medics when he got sick. I had to cancel our dinner reservation because he could not get out of bed all evening. I would not return to this restaurant. read more

My first visit to Rita's Taco Truck. I ordered 2 of each taco (chicken, carne asada, carnitas, and shrimp). Had food credit so it wasn't like I spent my own money. All four of these types of tacos were horrible. They claim "authentic" street tacos. Definitely, they are not. No flavor, chicken had a type of mango dressing that was sweet. Carne asada has no flavor, shrimp tasted very fishy, carnitas were the better of the four, but still no good. I can't say how their restaurant food is, but the taco truck street tacos were very bad. This is my second time eating here. The entrees and chips are good. Prices are typical....good menu The Problems: I would recommend asking them to put your shot of liquor for your drinks on the side. I think they are definitely shorting the liquor in the drinks. Typically, I can only have one Mai Tai. After drinking 2 Mai Tai's here, I felt like I was drinking cool aid and so did my girlfriend. We both commented on it. After reading through Yelp, others are commenting also. At $7.00 per drink, I think I should be able to taste the rum. Their cilantro salad dressing was inedible. It was spicier than their jalapeno hot sauce and my mouth was on fire after eating the salad. That should never happen. I really like spicy food, but this was over the top. My girlfriend didn't eat hers. Service: Slow, an they seemed confused who was taking the table. Then the waiter made a few snarky comments about others person taking the order. I wouldn't be giving 2 stars if it wasn't for this afternoons experience.... Let me start off by saying that we are staying at the hotel & came to this restaurant yesterday. Our server was Martha and she was GREAT & food & drinks were also wonderful! We came back this afternoon & had a completely different experience. It was 3:00 and the restaurant was slow. However, it took our server (won't mention a name...but she was an older lady, maybe 40/50s and dark hair) 15 minutes to get our drink out (it was my husbands Cucumber Margarita that I was going to try before I ordered mine.) Then when she dropped it proceeded to tell us the bar was slammed. Now, taking into consideration that I had over 16+ years of experience in the restaurant industry, I knew that was a lie. I also looked inside & sure enough it was slow. Ordered my drink & it was over 15 minutes. At this point my drink wasn't delivered...I went into the bar & spoke with the server & cancelled our entire dinner order (she didn't seem surprised or to care....guessing she is used to this). I spoke with the manager (a female) she was very apologetic. However, left & made other plans for dinner. I will say we went to Corked in Harrah's & Tim was so great with the best customer service! It was night & day of what we had just experienced that we left him $20 on a $40 check! Thank you Tim for such a great experience! We will be back to see you!! read more

My husband and I have had some of the most phenomenal meals here. This is authentic, delicious Mexican cuisine. Sunday we split the Combo#3; a steak, shrimp and chicken enchilada plate. OMG the steak was so tender and cooked to perfection. The spices on the shrimp were complex and simply perfect, and believe it or not the enchilada was just as complex and special. We sat poolside and then took up seating by an empty sauna and enjoyed the music and filled our "Dive" cups up with $12 Mai Tai's! They also have a taco truck in the lobby on the way to the pool so don't miss the shrimp tacos here, they are WONDERFUL! read more

So we wait and go to bar, three people at bar and bartender completely ignores us, 8 minutes later exactly we leave the bar with absolutely zero customer service. Glad I dident read the reviews before eating here. Would have missed out on a good meal. Service was OK. Food though was good. Chips and salsa was great and I really liked the variety of salsas they offer. Not to mention they were actually spicey. I ordered the skirt steak. Comes out medium rare just like I wanted it. Steak seriously needed seasoning badly. It was very very bland. I had to put salt on it to give it more flavor. Everyone in my party liked their meals as well. Drinks were stiff and got one of them tipsy off one drink. You also get martini glasses and a pitcher if you spend a certain amount of money. Ate here last week. What a disappointment. The margaritas were alright, but the food was lacking. Salsa had no flavor. The wife had enchiladas and tasted like they were pre-cooked and heated in a microwave. I had the carnitas. same for them. The beans and rice were not hot, and again no flavor. Worst place ever. The food is horrible but the management staff is even worse. We hag a large party that I brought in there were about 30 of us for a special night now that was ruin memories are supposed to last forever. I was told we would have a set menu which was set up before hand And was agreed on back in April a day before we were to arrive I was told the menu was gonna change and that it would be more money. After my girl I was speaking to went to bat they agreed to the first menu and price. We got there on time 6pm the food started coming out and it was cold and we didn't even get all the food we ordered, we also were told by a female manger to be quite when the whole place was packed with people and football on the bar was full and a other large party behind us. After we were told again to be quite we felt like kids. Security was called as me and couple others went to the Diamond lounge to find a other manger. Needless to say we all paid our bills for food we didn't get all of. About 6 to 8 of us got food poisoning as well. I got a call on Monday from the rudest manger Robby Greene's. Who over talked me the whole time and basically told me they dont care and they don't care if we ever come back. What I'm sorry you don't care if diamond members don't come back pretty sure our host wouldn't want to hear that or the GM of the hotle. I'm very disappointed in this place and management, . I will never go back and either will all of my party, plus we live in the South Bay and will for sure spread the word. read more

Ceviche: wanted a quick light bite after a very hot (105 degree) day. Unfortunately, the food was sub-par. Served with 3 cracker packages we fortunately were able to wrangle the complimentary chips and salsa to augment what was ultimately tasteless ceviche (red snapper and maybe 30 U scallops--very small). Yuck. Perhaps because it's in the boonies it still exists, but Harrah's should really fix this place. How can you ruin black beans? Specialty marinated chicken dish must have been marinated in water. Absolutely bland.The extremely busy waite staff was well meaning but either poorly trained or overwhelmed. Steaks were actually quite good. Chef needs to learn plateing, not "plopping". Hi there! First, we did not read the reviews before dining here. We like visiting Harrah's when we can and enjoy trying out the different eateries they have to offer. We recently stayed five nights from 12/28 thru 1/1/14. We enjoyed lunch on Sunday 12/29. I had the shrimp taco plate and my husband had the carnitas taco plate. The servings were huge and delicious. The multi-colored chips along with the salsa choices and cheese dip were really good. They had a $5.00 margarita special in honor of the Chargers and we were surprised with how good they were. Good tasting and enough tequila to make you feel fine! Our server was Irene and she was awesome! In addition, the prices were unbelievably reasonable for not only the quantity of food, but the quality. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the drink specials. She was very friendly and welcoming. We actually went back on 1/1/14 and had appetizers and margarita's because the portions we enjoyed on the 29th were so big. I had the chicken taquito plate and my husband had the cheese quesadilla's and we shared both plates and both were delicious and reasonable and a meal with the chips included. They did not have a special on margarita's on that day, but the margarita's we had were excellent, so good in fact that we each ordered a second one! The staff at Rita's Cantina were very friendly and accommodating. We had a great table with a view of the pool. We enjoyed Rita's and will definitely go back. Thanks again, Irene! read more

Ritas Cantina has pretty good Mexican food. It's not very authentic, but it's still very tasty! I got a Mojito-rita, which is their specialty for $5 - the mint was a little too strong for me after taking out a few leaves, it was really delicious. I ordered a combination plate of chile relleno and chicken enchilada with rice and beans. The chile relleno was sooo bomb! I love lime and it totally had that limey tangy kick to it. Delicious! The chicken enchilada was just okay and I took it home in a doggy bag cuz I was so full from the chile relleno and rice. I believe that plate was about $13. They also give you a basket of chips and a sampler of 4 sauces/salsas for free at the beginning. However, I sat at the bar, and they didn't offer it until I asked for it. Good thing I checked Yelp before to even know they gave out free chips and salsa. Their salas are really good too. My husband especially the warm nacho cheese. read more

I just had shrimp tacos from food truck for the first time yesterday lunch. I've been having stomach cramp over night and till now. That's the only food I ate since yesterday. I think the food is not clean or contaminated even though the girl who put the taco together was wearing the gloves. The precut vegetables like tomatoes . Came here this past Sunday 10/9/16. We ordered the ceviche, fish was super bad super fishy, the pico on top was way over past the eating point the onions were translucent and smelled, the tomatoes were mushy and tasted rotten. I ordered the shrimp burrito, my wife ordered the fish tacos they were super dry, my mother ordered the carnita tacos. We all ended up today with I wanna say food poisoning super sick. I work in the restaurant business and I would never ever put out food like that. I will never eat here again. When we sent back the ceviche the chef came out with the order of carnita tacos with a pissed off look on his face. Hey buddy sorry your upset we sent back rotten food but at least apologize for the inconvenience and not toss the plate on the table. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Drinks, chips and salsa and guacamole I would recommend only. Harrahs please train your culinary staff on quality food control. Pico should be made every 3-4 days. I have visited Harrah's Casino for years and never realized Rita's existed, when you enter the lobby I usually go left into the gaming area,Rita's is enter and go right all the way passed the food truck, and then left. So a friend and I went in around 3pm, not busy, looked at a menu, service was quite friendly, my friend is blind,so she assisted him with several decisions.The servers brought an assortment of warm chips and fresh homemade salsas, tamitto, cheese sauce, smooth, smoky hot. The cheese sauce is quite addictive.We ordered the shredded beef tacos and soft drinks. Shortly there after we received our orders. They were flawless! Served open and topped, serving size was healthy, I could barely finish the two and I couldn't eat dinner. Beef was perfectly roasted and seasoned hot and juicy , it was just the most beautiful thing you could imagine! We rolled out of there two full meals and drinks before tip$22.00 . That night was good, at the tables. Next Time I'll be back for Margaritas! read more

The food here is delicious, I always come to the bar and have a drink and some food. First and foremost, the bartender Deanna was amazing! She is the fastest, most professional bartender I've ever been served by. You get your drink fast, with a smile, and it's always delicious. I came in during a very busy day and she was the only bartender back there with a full bar of people and a line of others ordering cocktails, and she remained calm, collected and professional, I was truly blown away. The food here is also excellent! Really one of the best steaks I have ever had. You get a fine steakhouse quality steak bursting with flavor for an affordable price. The chips and salsa come with 3 salsas and a queso dip, which are all delicious as well. Also, their fish tacos are hands-down THE best I have ever had! Pro-tip: mix some of the chipotle salsa in with the rice for a delicious flavor! Food is always brought out quickly regardless of how busy it is! This place is unrivaled when it comes to Mexican dining. Along with the atmosphere of being right next to the pool, great food, drinks, and service will make you feel like you're a VIP on a tropical vacation.
