I had the opportunity to try Tierra y Mar out a few days ago with my mom and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised but how good the food was. They started us off with a round of chips and salsa which were good. Only a single round is included, if you want any more you have to pay. We ordered the salmon zarandeado, enchiladas ranchers, y fajitas se pollo y carne asada. Everything was delicious. I do have to say I will the salmon had a bit more seasoning or came with a salsa like the salsa cruda from the fajita spread. The salmon was cooked very well. The sauce on the enchiladas was very flavorful as well. The salsa that came with the fajitas were all excellent! My mom really enjoyed her fajitas. Our server was great. However I was a bit turned off when we first checked in and were told to come back 30 minutes later as they were trying to spread out customers although the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Not even 50% full. Maybe they were short-staffed? Would I come back? If I was in the area, yes for sure! I do wish they made their own tortillas though. That would make it 10/10!

So excited to try out the new upscale mexican restaurant in harrahs.. I would give this place 3.5-4 stars! Walking in felt very peaceful, beautifully decorated from the bar, hostess stand and as you round the curtain you enter the main dining area. Very boho, modern again beautifully put together..color pallet is light and inviting! As we sat down we were immediately was given chips and salsa. Service was fine. Had to ask for more salsa which never came. By that time food was already coming. We received the shrimp agauchile at the same with the entrees. Figured we should recieve it as an appetizer. My husband did enjoy i found it too sour. Limey. I ordered the combo fajitas with steak and shrimp(they keep the head on the shrimp)it was absolutely delicious.. 10 out of 10... my husband ordered Baja fried tacos made with cod. Fish was good size, crispy and cooked perfectly. If I wanted rice and beans(black) with my fajitas it would be additional $10. So glad I opted out. My husband tacos came with rice and beans. Both rice and beans was very under cooked and just didnt taste good. Drinks were decent.. ordered the peach Mami and husband ordered mexican mojito(i would recommend the mojito)! So glad we got to enjoy a date night here and to see tierra y mar open. I can see they have made it a more upscale mexican restaurant thats not overly priced. I feel like they brought from the Catina the same chips which are alright and the not to so good rice and beans. Everything else i can tell is new and refreshed. I would go back and try other items on the menu and hopefully have room for dessert next time!

    We burrito to-go

Ordered to-go today, 8/11/26, around 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, the customer service was very disappointing. The two employees working behind the bar--I'm not sure if they were bartenders or servers--were not friendly or welcoming at all. After I paid, there was no "thank you," no "see you in 20 minutes," or any kind of acknowledgment. I asked, "Is that it?" and the employee with the long curly hair and glasses simply said, "Yes, give it 10 minutes." When I came back to pick up my order, as soon as I walked in, he just pointed toward my to-go order. I grabbed it and left. Come on, guys--it's a brand-new restaurant! A little enthusiasm, friendliness, and basic customer service can make a huge difference. First impressions matter. The food was okay, ( the beans inside the burrito were not cooked all the way so some were hard) but unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience.

I enjoyed the upscale dining experience without the upscale prices. This restaurant decor was very modern compared to the casino it is in which isn't my favorite . We came for my husband's birthday . We enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa they were delivered fresh to our table . We ordered mole enchiladas which were very tasty they came with beans and rice . Rice wasn't good the texture was weird and the flavor was off . We also ordered the carne asada quesadilla it was good but I think I should have ordered the fajitas. I would definitely return to this restaurant .

There's something exciting about being one of the first people to try a brand-new restaurant. A few coworkers and I noticed Tierra y Mar had just opened, so after work we decided to check it out and see what they were all about. We kicked things off with a chicken quesadilla to share. It was a great starter. The chicken was tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and it disappeared from the table pretty quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the steak fajitas, and they absolutely delivered. The steak came out sizzling on a bed of peppers and onions with a giant poblano pepper that really tied the whole plate together. I also appreciated all the different sauces that came with it because it let you mix up the flavors with every bite. The beans were solid, but the Spanish rice deserves a shout-out because that stuff was hitting. Dessert was a tale of two experiences. I had high hopes for the churros, and while they were good, they didn't quite steal the show. The choco flan, however, absolutely did. Rich, smooth, and the perfect way to end the meal. For a restaurant that's just getting started, I walked away impressed. If you're looking for a more upscale Mexican dining experience with quality food and a polished atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend giving Tierra y Mar a try.

Had a great meal at the new Tierra Y Mar. Bartenders took good care of us. We ordered both the carne asada fajitas and the carne con Papas. Both were cooked to our request and were delicious. It is worth trying out, we did not have the pozole but it looked good also. Enjoy!!!

Came to eat dinner here before the Anuhea concert at Harrah's and we were stuffed! The food tasted absolutely delicious. I ordered the ribeye steak and suadero tacos while the wife ordered the fajitas. The flavor of these dishes gave us nostalgic feels. Jan, our server was super nice and checked up on us consistently. The restaurant was very dim lit and the noise level wasn't too bad. A lot of seating but I would make reservations in case because you never know if people get hungry after winning jackpots at the slots. Definitely worth checking out with your significant other

    Shrimp Aquachile

Tierra y Mar gets a lot right. The hostess was warm from the start, which always helps. I opened with a Tequila Old Fashioned--because tequila dressed up as an Old Fashioned seemed like the appropriate move here. Then came the Shrimp Aguachile, and that was the dish that made the night. Bright, spicy, cold, messy in the right way, and the kind of thing you keep going back to even after telling yourself you're done. The shrimp and steak fajitas were solid--hot, generous, and exactly what fajitas should be. The Siete Mares was another winner: rich broth, plenty of seafood, and no shortage of flavor. We ate in the dining room, which was perfectly nice, but next time I'm taking a seat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly, accommodating, and seemed like the kind of people you'd happily spend a couple hours with over tequila and another round of aguachile. Good food. Good drinks. No unnecessary nonsense. We'll be back.

First the positive points, it is calm and peaceful ambiance, however it can change if you get some rowdy drunk guests coming in to the restaurant speaking loudly (it happens). The floor plan is a little different before, however it feels more spacious before. However it is still very low light. Here is where it will go downhill. We had a reservation, checked in before three parties and still seated last. They did not notice until after I waved them over. Side note the waiting area is smaller than Hell's Kitchen next door. We came in 10 minutes before our reservation and we seated 13 minutes after. When seated, the small round table was not big enough to accommodate our order. Now for the food: we will say that it took about 30+ minutes our food to slowly come to the table. The best part of all our meal was the fingerling potatoes. Scoring second was the refried black beans. The green rice was undercooked and not seasoned well. We asked the server if the chicken taquitos were spicy, she said no. Unfortunately it was for our son. So that was a bust. We got a side salad, surprisingly good for the value of a side dish. The order is the 12 ounce grilled ribeye steak with two shrimp, fingerling potatoes with bell peppers and onions. The sauces were delicious. The steak was cooked well unfortunately the shrimp were overcooked and they were not deveined so you could taste the difference. We ordered the pan seared Seabass, it also had fingerling potatoes with a sauce and bell peppers and onions. The Seabass was cooked perfect unfortunately we asked for the Plano butter on the side, so the flavor did have a mild kick to it. Finally, the Choco flan was dense and sweet, it was a little odd to hear that they use a charcoal corn husk with sugar as a topping. Couldn't really taste the difference honestly. But it was well-made. Now for the part, that's the epic fail. This place does need time, they have plenty of staff however we fill the kitchen may be cursed, because of the fact that it took so long to get the food out and done properly. We are not the only party to complain about the time, as well as the order in which the food came out. Another sidenote, the plates are not the right size for the tables. We literally had to put plates down on the bench so we could have room to eat. Since the POS system is new, the server did not give our party the $40 food credit. They try to get us a pay without giving us the $40 food credit take it off. The manager tried his best and couldn't understand what we were saying. Because we worked in the food industry, my husband went up with the manager to the PO system to help him figure out how to get the food credit taken off. Unfortunately, the time it took to have everything resolved over 30 minutes after we finish our meal. Our server Gina, did the best she could under the circumstance. The only thing I can fault was her taking the time to talk to other tables with our food in hand. I do not mind good customer service. But a general rule, drop off food, then talk to other guests. Also do not hand a guest their bill without exhausting all your abilities to resolve taking the food credit off the bill. We know that Cesar gives dinner credits, and it would be a pain for guest to constantly have to be overcharged because of a faulty, POS system, or the fact that their server did not do their utmost to rectify the issue. Yes, this is something management needs to take care of with the POS customer service line and of course possibly pull in other management from the other restaurants on site to see about fixing this issue. However, spending two hours to have dinner and then 30 minutes trying to correct a bill is not OK. We will be willing to give them another chance the next time we come to visit. However, if it is as slow and unorganized (as in the POS system is not working) then they will definitely be losing another star. But give them time. I hope they can do better to improve. Especially working together and getting out food in a timely manner. Special note for management, make sure to read all the reviews coming in on OpenTable, Google as well as Yelp. Take them to heart and do your best to take it seriously when people are trying to help you improve. I'm not trying to tear you down since you are still new however you can do better.

    Steak & Prawns Fajitas

This place just opened a few months ago and it was previously a Sushi place. The ambiance is great especially the entry way and you see a nice round full bar and behind it is the main dining area, it's huge. We went here for a late lunch so it wasn't busy at all. They provided fresh chips & salsa but we wanted some Guacamole & it also came with additional 4 seasoned big fresh tortilla chips. It was good and we didn't want to get too full. So we stopped eating it and shared a Surf & Turf Fajitas which came with fresh rolled up flour tortillas which was sooooo good, we had to get more. The Steak was a lot but only 2 big prawns which was great also. We didn't order any cocktails so the bill wasn't too bad. The guac was on a pricey side but given it's in the casino everything is overpriced as there's not much other choices around unfortunately. Also, friendly service but not sure if it's because it's not busy, either way we were pleasantly surprised or just came there with less expectations & expected mediocre food lol.

I HOPE SOMEONE FROM MANAGEMENT SEES THIS... WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!?…read more My son & I stop at least 1-2 times per week for breakfast burritos & we stop for lunch often as well, it has been very inconsistent. I keep thinking maybe the usual cook is on vacation on something, but it's only getting worse. When I was in a few days ago another couple were complaining about their order & they informed me that a when a certain gentleman is working they won't even order anymore because he is making the burrito's half the size they use to. Which is the problem we are having also. They raised the price to 15 dollars a burrito & most days they are coming out half the size they use to & with hardly any meat & mostly potatoes. I didn't the 15 which is ridiculous for a breakfast burrito, but I agree with the couple that was complaining, I'm not going to pay 15 for half the size, when I can go down the street & get two for 8 bucks. The food is so hot and miss also. I love the taquito's platter for lunch. One day I will order and it will be great & the next they are so burned & hard as rock I can't even chew them. THE LADY CASHIER IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL...I DO HOPE MANAGEMENT SEES THIS & GET'S TRAINING ALL STAFF ON HOW TO BE CONSISTENT & HOW TO MAKE EVERYTHING CORRECTLY, SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR GOING TO GET EVERY TIME. I love to support small businesses/mom & pop places, but if a change doesn't happen, then I will take my business down the road.
