By far the most poorly run pharmacy my family and I have ever encountered. After so many bad experiences with the pharmacy and Zola the manager I had to take my business elsewhere. And on more than one occasion prescriptions were wrong or incorrectly filled and then the manager had the gall to argue about it and refuse to return the improperly filled meds. Also this Rite Aid has been closed at least once for health code violations and at one time had almost no ceiling tiles installed in the store. In summery spend your money elsewhere and if you've had similar issues as I had with this particular Rite Aid and it's Managment please contact their corporate offices and the California Better Business Bureau. read more

Perfectly average Rite Aid with a decent holiday card selection and an absolute TON of parking in a total zoo of a lot. Nothing special to note, here. This place will meet your drug store needs in no special way and won't disappoint. The store was well-organized, and most sections were well-stocked despite the mid-December visit. I love the ice cream at Rite Aid. It is about the only thing that I buy in their stores. This location is super clean. Although, whenever I've needed something they have it in stock, the parking is easy enough. But that ice cream...it has always been delicious. I can't attest to pretty much anything about this store... except the ice cream... first of all, they have cotton candy ice cream! :) I LOVE Cotton Candy ice cream... and I'm not 5 years old... I actually just love cotton candy in general... but this ice cream is amazingly good. :) Oh! They also carry the watermelon vitamin C drops which are a must have for me when I'm battling a cold! My local CVS was out of my drug and this Rite Aid location was the only place I could find it in stock. I gave them my prescription and provided my GoodRX info. I was given a price triple to what I normally pay. I explained a second time to them that I used GoodRX. Then I was told that they did not take GoodRX. I showed them the GoodRX site on my phone with the price I normally pay with the Rite aid logo next to it. I was then told they had no more time to spend on this "issue" and I should go get it from CVS. read more

Went in to pick up a couple of bandages. Great product selection. However, there was only one cashier and there were 6 people waiting in line. After looking at the other reviews of this store, my experience was highly typical. Since I live in Calabasas, Rite Aid in The Commons is very convenient. This Rite Aide pharmacy is by far one of the most unprofessional pharmacies I've ever dealt with. The only reason I have been giving them a chance over and over it's because they are the nearest pharmacy to my house. To start , their answering service says the complete wrong hours for the pharmacy. It's either the wrong hours or the staff just chooses to come in when ever they feel like it. They NEVER answer the phone. I have been trying to get a hold of them for the last two days. Yes, it is close enough that I can walk in, but at this point it's the principle to see at what point will they actually pick up the phone. What if there is an emergency? Everyone there especially the lady pharmacist has the worse attitude and they don't act professional. Their demeanor is so hostile and it seems that they are always so frustrated. I waited 20 minutes my turn to get in front of the line and talk to pharmacist. I asked her to please check the medication price before filling it since I wanted to know if I could pay for it. She asked me to step aside so she can take care of others and it will take 15 minutes I said why I waited my time already and it takes less than 2 minutes to put my name since that is the way it is done at this and other pharmacy. I have never used the actual pharmacy at this Rite-Aid. I've heard from several people it's not that great. My review is for the remaining staff. Ramsin and Jorge are especially fantastic. They're helpful, funny, and have great customer service skills. Some of the other workers can use a little personality training but that's OK. This store has done an incredible job keeping supplies in stock and managing early morning lines during COVID-19. The staff is warm and very helpful in communicating what supplies they do or do not have currently in stock. I appreciate that the store is impeccably clean and they have the distancing tape on the floor while checking out. I will make sure to come back to this store to restock. The rudeness in the Pharmacy is beyond belief! I can't imagine someone not feeling well and being treated so poorly. To top things off the restroom is filthy! I brought it to the managers attention over a year ago, last week I was desperate and the condition was far worse than it had been previously. If you want to be accused of switching clearance tags while waiting in line looking at the clearance items then rite aid is the place for you. Never in my life treated this way. I had already paid and the guy was like hey is it supposed to be this price. Mind you it was zarbees. The guy saw me the whole time. The loss prevention girl was like nope but I'll check. Takes 5 mins to see. Have always come to this store and everyone knows me except these two. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and I guess they are new hires. Came here to get mint ice cream . Had to wait 10 mins for someone to come to the ice cream section to help me . They seemed a little short staffed for a Sunday . They were out of the mint so I asked if they can get more from the freezer , and they lady said no one is available to go to the freezer to get more ice cream at the moment. Kinda disappointed . It's the 3rd time I came for the mint ice cream in a month. One out of 3 times one person offered to go to the freezer and get a new container. I don't know why they just don't replace it as soon as it's empty. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. The store leaves something to be desired. I have to fill a medication every month that is really unusual and not stocked in any pharmacy and stresses me out every single time. For a while I filled it at CVS on Valley Circle and probably 50% of the time there was an issue (forgot to order, not ready, the only pharmacist who was allowed to fill it was out, etc.). I went to the Rite Aid on Topanga and Ventura once and it was bungled on the first try and I had to go several awful days w/o my medication. I've now been filling my prescription at the Commons for over a year and it's been a smooth and easy process every single time that I could practically weep with gratitude. And everyone who works there is always really nice. I swear to god at CVS it's a race to see who can cut off customers mid-sentence the fastest. But here everyone is actually pleasant. I wish they opened earlier - 9 a.m. gets me into work late on days I have to pick something up but it's a small sacrifice! read more

Yesterday I picked up a prescription and bought some bottled water using the new Apple Pay system on my iPhone. It's secure and protects my credit card # from being captured. I already was a victim of this at Target and it's a real hassle to get new cards. Today I discovered that Rite Aid has disabled Apple Pay. I had the worst experience at the Rite Aid pharmacy in Calabasas, CA. I dropped off my prescription and I was told to return in an hour. When I returned, they told me that I had to wait another hour. So, I did. When I returned for a second time, they said that they didn't even have my medication in the store. Then, WTF, why make me wait? The manager/supervisor was a total asshole. Instead of making the situation better, he badmouthed the company and said that I should have taken it to CVS instead. Who talks like that? And, how was I supposed to know that I should take my prescription to CVS, if the pharmacist kept giving me false hopes? What a bullshit pharmacy. Horrible experience. This review is for the service at the prescription pharmacy only. I have been going to this pharmacy for at least five years. The service is hit and miss. When things are fine, they are fine. When it is bad, it is usually becomes a huge problem that the staff is either unable or unwilling to resolve. Like most major pharmacies in the area, this one is understaffed and delays are expected, especially at certain times. However, what makes this pharmacy unlike the other major pharmacies nearby is the fact that they rarely answer the phone. This applies to doctor calls as well. The other worrisome problem with this pharmacy is that they get confused between new and old prescriptions. For instance, my doctor increased my dose on the same medication, sent a new prescription to the pharmacy on no less than three occasions and they continued to fill the quantity on the old prescription. After nearly a month of trying to get the prescription for the increased dose filled, I transferred it elsewhere. I had a similar problem today with a different medication where I confirmed the new prescription had a higher dosage and then the tech claimed the dosage was the same as the old prescription. I also had to wait on hold for 45 minutes after calling throughout the day with no answer. The place is either woefully understaffed or incredibly inefficient. Whatever the reason, if there is an issue with a prescription, it is a nightmare to fix. I am not new to the pharmacy game - I am in charge of several prescriptions for other people at many different pharmacies in the Valley. I speak from experience when I say this Rite Aid is far below average and life does not have to be this hard. Go elsewhere. read more

There was an issue with the order my doctor wrote and instead of following up with the doctor themselves, they just let the prescription sit there and didn't bother to alert me that there was even an issue. It's been 2 days that I've been waiting for the prescription to be filled and since they never bothered to follow-up with me for the 2nd day, I'm now stuck with no meds through the weekend. Ok so i return in 3hours to a line with 4 people which took half an hour before it was my turn???? So now the clerk says that it cost $650. I said why, she said no insurance, i said he does have ins here is the card so she said ok come back in an hour we have to ring it up differently.......wth...... PHARMACY:I unfortunately have a lot of prescriptions to be filled. I moved here from San Jose just a few days ago and the Rite Aid by my house was awesome. They knew my name,they were friendly they went out of their way to help. Well, I guess Calabasas is too good for me. When I went in with my prescription I asked the staff member (I believe she was not the pharmacist) if I could move my prescriptions over here from San Jose and my response was "well I sure hope so."In a really snotty voice. Really? I thought you could fill your prescriptions at any Rite Aid. I've done that before in emergencies. I also had to fill a controlled substance prescription that I have been on for over years. IT HAS BEEN FILLED BY THE SAME DR FOR ALL THAT TIME. No I'm not an addict. I understand that it is strict now but she made me feel like I was the bottom of the barrel homeless drug addict. I happen to be a paramedic-andI have been for over 20 years so I know the system and how things work. I have a work related injury that needs pain control .( no, not when I'm on duty)I'm sure I got attitude because I saw the Doctor Who prescribes this for me right before I moved up here and didn't have a chance to fill it in San Jose. Maybe she thinks I'm drug shopping or doctor shopping. I don't know. VERY unprofessional. Unfortunately I have to try and fill that prescription when the pharmacist comes in. I bet it will be loads of fun. I'm sure I'll be treated like shit. If I could give less than one starI would. The only reason they got two was for the rest of the store. As is clearly evidenced by the countless poor reviews this Pharmacy is the WORST in the Valley!!! Zora the Pharmacist is the most unprofessional and nastiest professional one could have the misfortune to meet. Stay far away from this pharmacy!!!! We stayed with this store because the pharmacy tech Janet was a wonderful help in getting prescriptions filled in a timely manner. Janet left the company and things went terribly wrong. Now in an effort to transfer all of our family prescriptions away from this pharmacy CVS placed a call and faxed requesting that our records be transferred. RITE AID WOULD NOT ANSWER THE PHONE FOR CVS NOR WOULD THEY FAX OVER OUR RX'S. IT TOOK ME CALLING A WEEK LATER ON A 3 WAY CALL TO GET THE TRANSFER DONE. Went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. Was told I had to wait for the pharmacist (who was at lunch for another 45 min) since it was a new Rx. I told them I was in a hurry. Made no difference. Their policy is that the pharmacist has to ask if you want a "consultation" when it is a new prescription. It was just a simple ointment. They absolutely would not let me have it. I have never encountered this so called policy anywhere else. If the doctor prescribes something, why on earth do I need a pharmacist's permission to use it? I am not convinced that a pharmacy has the right to institute this rule. Was told that I can refuse the consultation but only in person to the pharmacist. Insane. Won't be going there again. Much better service at Calabasas Pharmacy inside Gelson's. They are friendly AND reasonable. read more

Too bad I had to give this pit hole even one star. This underwhelming store has the most rude employees I have ever encountered. I mean totally psychotic! I visited this store while I was traveling in the area and had one of the worst experiences of my life (I'm not exaggerating!) It was Christmas Eve and all the employees I encountered were grumpy. They groaned as they mumbled an answer to a question and scoffed as they (gasp!) had to move over so I could get by them in aisle while I shopped. I stopped at the pharmacy to buy a decongestant and after waiting 10 minutes in a line, I gave up and decided to just go make my other purchases at the front registers. I encountered the same groaning, grumpy guy at my register (oh joy!). I proceeded to check out, paid, took my bag and walked out of the store. Imagine my shock when that same grumpy employee came chasing after me outside, screaming at me about my cart. (I left it where I shouldn't have??? I have no idea.) He was literally running after me, screaming like a mad man. He followed me halfway to my car. I have NEVER been harassed like this by a store employee. This "man" left his cash register, ignoring a line of waiting customers just so he could chase a woman out of the store on Christmas Eve to scream at her for no reason. It was unsettling and maddening all at once. I wish I had gotten his name because he was clearly unhinged. Or, perhaps this is standard practice at this Rite Aid? Either way, I will never return and I encourage everyone else to avoid this store. What a miserable experience. read more

I am a very fair Yelper, but this experience is not going to go down quietly. We stopped in at the location on Sat morning, to pick up a few items. 1.) we were NOT welcomed by the male employee as we walked in, 2.) were treated horribly at the check-out. We took our items to the register, and the same male employee check us out. After the transaction was completed, he pushed our items towards us, and we realized that he was not putting them in a bag. I asked him if he was going to bag it up, and he said no, you didn't ask for one. I then said, why didn't you ask us if we needed one? (We obviously were not paying that much attention as he was ringing up the items). He said because his customers bring in their own bags, so WE MUST NOT BE FROM CALABASAS. What???!!!!! Are you kidding me? You are assuming that we don't know to bring our own bags to the stores since the CA law passed? You clearly see that we are not holding a bag, and do not ask us if we wish to purchase one, WHICH IS YOUR JOB TO DO??? And he refused to give us one. A .10 bag. And then you have to attempt to degrade us by stating that we are not locals? Unbelievable. This EMPLOYEE needs some MAJOR retraining ASAP. Absolutely not acceptable. I have also filed a complaint with Rite Aid Corporation, and will post whatever response I get from them. read more

I was in search of a specific item and he walked me to the item. I noticed the shelves were fully stocked. Definitely coming back and totally recommend this location. I didn't want to write a negative review about his pharmacy, but because I'm still bothered by the mediocre customer service I received, I decided to write it. It's hard to describe the staff at this pharmacy - uncaring and uncaring are the first words that come to mind. I needed to have four new prescriptions filled for my son as well as a few refills. Was told they had only 1/2 the medication the prescription called for, but I could take it or wait until tomorrow for a new shipment. I asked if I could take the one box now and pickup the remaining medication the next day and was told this wasn't something they could do. The pharmacy had always been able to do this so I'm not sure exactly what changed nor was it articulated clearly. To their credit, my prescriptions were filled within 30 minutes as promised but when I stepped up to the register, no one acknowledged my being there. A "I'll be with you in a few minutes" would have sufficed but it wasn't until I cleared my throat then stepped away from the counter, into the line where they could see me watching them did someone finally come over. Alas when I got home and discovered one of the medicines wasn't covered by insurance, I called to ask why I wasn't informed of this. The young lady's response was someone should have mentioned it to me but I watched her as she handed the pharmacist a bag containing my receipts and neither of them said anything. It took a call to them to find out what happened. I normally go to the location on Topanga & Ventura where some of the techs know you by name, smile, and acknowledge your presence, but this location is closer to home. I know I'll go back here because it's close to home and better than CVS/Mulholland, but I wish the pharmacy employees were more customer service friendly. read more
