So this review is for the pharmacy, and I figured I needed to review because there was a lot of negative comments on here. I came in a few days ago to grab my son his prescription and I didn't have the insurance card on me. The next day I called (Suzi answered) to give them the information and since the insurance was a whole complicated scenario, she didn't give up to make sure it was right on file. Took about 2-3 days and she was on the phone with 6 different people. Also, her personality is amazing! Always cheerful. Made a purchase today , employee came up to the register to help me and she was bleeding from her arm, probably got cut while working. She proceeded to help me as she kept wiping the blood that was on her clothes with her fingers and even gave me my change with blood on the bills. Honestly, that's pretty gross and unsanitary. Why not clean yourself up before coming up to the register? Nasty. read more

I just had the most shocking service. I called to see if Rite Aid had hot glue sticks for a hot glue gun because it says they have it online but I wanted to make sure it was in store. The lady that spoke to me was incredibly rude!! Her exact words were "go to Micheal's thank you". The way she said it was so rude and she hung up on me. This pharmacy is a mess. They're rude, rushed and crowded. They're always short staffed and short tempered. The pharmacist (tall bald guy with a South African accent) is particularly humorless. This store has the very worst customer service! The employees are rude. They appear like they would rather be any place but there! I asked the cashier (women) to please sanitize the credit card machine before I used it. She told me I could walk over (pointed) there and get sanitizer. There were no wipes there. I could not believe this. The management should teach these workers about being polite!!! This is not the only incident I've encountered there, but the most recent. I'm a pharmacy technician myself so I understand how crazy and hectic retail pharmacy can be. I just tried calling to refill a rather time sensitive medication but could not get a hold of anybody in the pharmacy. I JUST called five times and none of my calls were answered. Previously, I called over three times and did not connect to anybody. I understand there are automated systems I can use to refill but I have questions regarding my medication. Management really needs to step in and help with the staffing issues(I'm assuming there are some). What Rite Aid is telling me, by not answering, is that their pharmacy is not a priority; therefore, neither am I. Please consider going somewhere else. read more

This is a review mainly for the pharmacy. I went to fill a prescription over a week ago and never heard back. When I stopped in, (over a week later) to follow up, they said they were waiting on my insurance and doctor to authorize the prescription. The pharmacist then handed me back my prescriptions since I made a comment saying that they have had it for over 7 business days and have yet to get back to me about a prescription that usually takes 30 mins to fill. I took the prescription, walked outside and called the doctors office and they said the authorization already had been processed. First off, the pharmacist at the drop off counter was talking to the other pharmacist and workers behind the counter on top of one of their friends who stopped by to drop off food. It was the worst customer service I have ever received at a pharmacy and they kept going in circles. I had to contact my insurance and doctor to fix the issue that they weren't competent enough to handle themselves. The pharmacist and pharmacy techs here are not good and do not know how to communicate to their customers. Go to another pharmacy that knows what they're doing and you'll have no issues. Even the elderly woman who was behind me said she didn't like this particular pharmacy and to go somewhere else. read more

Good location, plenty of items available and some good deals. I am still finding it odd coming to terms with the fact that cigarettes and alcohol can be bought in a pharmacy together with candy. Design of this store WAS horrible....you used to have to walk to the center of the store to see all of the aisle labels........ As a store they are okay, but their actual pharmacy section is a nightmare. Without my medication, I can get temporary psychosis, but the pharmacist shrugged off my concern when I complained that I am out of medication by accidentally and falsely claiming that my medication is not due. Also, the pharmacists were upset with me for not waiting in waitrooms for hours to get my insurance card when they have the information needed to request my medication with some complications when requesting. I have also requested medication by phone and online different times only to be told to return later for it. And their drug store app is crap that is not useful for contacting them, not useful for requesting one of my medications. I am considering CVS using the bus system despite how it is horribly inconvenient if I need to pee to go down the street to CVS just to avoid the hassles of Rite Aid. I really can't afford to take business elsewhere quite yet because I need to go in for medication at least monthly so CVS is too far. However, if I don't get perfect cooperation after doing the maximum I can to make it easier for the pharmacists to punch in my medication numbers, I am taking my business to CVS because that will be the last straw. read more

I believe the Pharmacist changed staff because the team is great in the last three months Ive come in. When I moved here around 2018, it was a bit on the downside. More recently, I've called a few times to check on my prescription and each person has been so helpful. When I get there, I'm always greeted with a smile and short wait time. The staff feels upbeat and joyful. read more

We used to go to CVS few years back and switched our account to Rite Aid and have never looked back. We love our pharmacy on 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Their service is outstanding, they know us by name and are always serving with a smile and warm greetings. Their staff is friendly and efficient. You can even get an annual report at the end for tax purposes with complete accounting. read more

The ice cream is nasty due to unwashed scoops. You can see flavors mixed in with other flavors, which is just so disgusting and unappetizing. Anyways, my daughter wanted a scoop, and I had two other small items to purchase. I asked if I could pay for it at the check out at the ice cream counter. The guy rudely said no and then just walked off. Meanwhile, there is one cashier arguing with a customer about a coupon, with at least 4 other people in line. It would have been nice for him to check me out considering the line of people and there only being one cashier, but I guess it just isn't Ride Aid if you aren't waiting 10 min to check out. read more

IF this is true...then there's a flaw in this store's system and it should be rectified. As far as local pharmacies go, they have been as good as any. The staff are real people who talk to you with respect and as a human being. The wait is usually 20 minutes and I like that I can shop around the store and then buy my stuff at the pharmacy. The pharmacist is friendly and involved with his team and customers. I recently switched from Costco and am very satisfied. No more walking through a huge store to get to a pharmacy with shorter hours, less customer service, and an hour long wait. *Bonus category: Ice Cream counter! I've visited 2x in the past few weeks as it has been so hot and they are a good, cheap option. Granted the staff hate putting on the hat and scooping the ice cream, so don't expect service with a smile. I will say it's worth it though. This location is clean, but disorganized. I entered at 940pm on a Sunday. All I wanted was some rainbow sherbet, it's my daughters favorite ice cream. I checked the fridge with all the to go ice creams first, none there. I approached the ice cream counter, there was a lady cleaning behind it and I asked her if I could have some rainbow sherbet to go. She informed me that the counter was closed, and pointed me in the direction of the to go ice-cream along the wall. I explained I wanted rainbow sherbet for my 4 year old, and there was none in the to go area. She became slightly agitated and told me she " already cleaned and sanitized her tools" and the ice cream counter closed at 930. I work in a restaurant so I know that sanitization process is max 10 min. I asked one more time if she would give me some rainbow sherbet for my daughter and she declined stating the counter was closed. This us my first less than 5 star review of anything. I think I'm the most frustrated Bec the posted hours on the door don't state ices cream counter closes early. It's not posted anywhere actually. The lady wasn't excessively rude, I was being difficult. But I still feel like you should take care of the guest especially when the store wasn't officially closed yet. read more

This is the best Riteaid I've been to. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I always find what I'm looking for at a great price. I come here at least once a week. Very rude lady at the pharmacy, I just went there to check if my prescription was ready she said: "we are working on it, there are only 2 of us here and if I'm here at the register things don't go faster over there". Beware of this pharmacy. If you go in for a vaccine that you need, they will also suggest a ton of other vaccinations that you do not need. For example today my husband went in for his second shingles vaccine and as a 60 year old adult they suggested that he needed the measles vaccine. Adults do not need a measles vaccine if they were vaccinated in their youth. They also did this on his first shingles vaccine telling him he needed whooping cough tetanus etc. etc. He was up-to-date on all his shots they just are very pushy to make money on these vaccinations. When I called back and asked the pharmacist why they would suggest a measles vaccine for an adult he said he did not know and that he would talk to the Wellness nurse to correct her from doing so. They just want the insurance money!!!!! read more

The cashier couldn't figure out how to ring up the reading glasses my mom tried to buy so she asked if she still wanted them, which was pretty funny. Of course we want them. Love how i waited 1.5 hrs after "20 min" wait only to be told, after i checked my status, there was something wrong with my insurance. During this time I waited I see this happening to others.
