I'm writing a review with 1 star in hopes that this will get Riteway Brick to call me back to finish the job. We contacted Riteway Brick in July 2017 to get a quote. Our chimney needed tuck pointing in addition to various places around our home. They provided a very nice quote and seemed eager for the job. We had to wait about a month for them to come out and do our work. The work they did was not the best - our house was built in 1960 and the brick cannot be matched. I understand that, but he told us that we'd need to buy our own paint/stain for the new bricks they installed if we really wanted the bricks to match. They tuck pointed our chimney and did an okay job. Unfortunately, they forgot to install a cap for one of the chimney vents. During a very heavy rain, we had water seeping into our brick fireplace for the first time in the 10 years we've lived here. Our original quote contained a page full of photos of the areas to be tuck pointed, including a section on the front of our house. As of today, that section has NOT been tuck pointed. I spoke to the owner of Riteway and he assured us his team would be out to complete that section. That was back in September. I've repeatedly called their company to schedule someone to come out and finish the work. I've spoken to the office manager who assured me they would be out by the end of the week. That was back in October. This infuriates me because Rich came by to collect the check for the work and asked for it to be paid in full. I paid, thinking they would finish the small section that is still in need of repair. Boy, was I wrong. Don't pay them in full until the job is COMPLETE. I would give them more stars if they would simply come back to my home and finish the job they started. Horrible customer service, no follow-up, no concern for the water that damaged my indoor fireplace. A few years ago, they tuck pointed our neighbor's house. My husband caught them wiping concrete on our elm tree. That should have been a sign not to use this company, but I really thought their quality of work would outweigh them being sloppy with customer service. DO NOT use this company. We had used them in the past to redo brick work at an office building we owned and the job was good then. Fast forward 10 years to the job they did at our house is was night and day. Just a sloppy job from the word go, NOT just the dust. They damaged trim work and missed many spots with the new colored mortar, that makes it EZ to see. The job they did for us would make it hard to send any more business their way as we do not know what work will end as done, GOOD or BAD. I wish the work they do would have some type of standard to be good all the time. Rick came out promptly to explain the options for fixing my badly deteriorated chimney. I decided a rebuild was the best long-term solution. If I could give no stars, I would. They put a liner in our chimney 2 years ago. Now we have problems. Expensive problems. He installed 4" aluminum into our chimney. No screen on top of chimney. Main problem is shod have bee at least 5" and Stainless steel! In an old house you cannot install aluminum. Now we had a squirrel move in and plugged the chimney. Cost us two thousand to rectify. And dead squirrels. Beware, do not let them install a liner. Okay for tuck point. read more

We moved into a foreclosure 3 years ago and had to get chimney work done (tuck pointing). Hired a side contractor and was pretty satisfied with the job until the following year the concrete started washing out.... forward 2 more years and bricks were popping out not only in the chimney but down the wall of the house. I called quite a few places to get quotes and was amazed at the lack on contractors who called me back! Only three did, and Riteway was one of them. Their prices were extremely competitive, but more importantly I appreciated the before and after pictures of their work as part of their quote. After being somewhat burned by my first experience I felt comfortable hiring them. The crew was very professional and cleaned up after themselves well. I'm very satisfied with the job and wouldn't hesitate to hire them for future projects. read more

They are thieves! I contacted Riteway on September 16th and received a quote from them for a small tuckpointing job on my parent's home. I mailed the deposit and contract on that same day. I followed-up on September 24th regarding the status of our deposit and received an email back from Teresa that they did not get my contract but it was sent with my check that was deposited. Received a clarifying call from Teresa letting me know that it was a mistake and they did indeed get my contract and are waiting for a permit from the city. Emailed on October 13th to find out the status of the permit and was told it was not awarded yet. Spoke to Rick on the 19th and he informed me that my parent's permit was not approved but was not given a reason why. I contacted the city and they informed me that a permit was given on Oct. 2nd but Riteway did not pick it up. They were contacted several times. From then on I have been emailing, calling, messaging them on Facebook and have no received a response. My parents are 87 years old and they are taking advantage of. It has been over a month since this started and I am at a loss on what to do. They just want their deposit back so they can hire another company to get the work done. Riteway has frozen us out and will not communicate with us at all. I do not know what else to do but any company that feels it is okay to take advantage of seniors citizens should be ashamed of themselves. I am taking the steps to report this to the BBB as well as a lawyer to see what actions we can take. Do not trust this company. read more

Rick came out very quickly to estimate tuck pointing the whole house. He gave me a detailed scope of work and did everything he promised. They house looks great and I'm sure I won't have to tuck point for years, if ever. During power washing, there was a little damage to the front window and door...the next day, Rick, had it repaired by the time I got home. Rick and his staff were super courteous and did a great job keeping the jobsite clean, during and after the work. I would certainly recommend them to family and friends! read more

Rick responded to my request for estimate immediately, and came to my house that same day. When I had questions, he came back and answered them. The work was done promptly, and you can't even tell the difference between the original brickwork and the new work. His pricing was very fair. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
