This was the worst experience i've ever had for my first time at a restaurant. I asked what was in the vegetarian burrito and was told: lettuce, tomatoes, tortilla strips, avocado. I got it and got home and was biting into straight lettuce. It was also lettuce with carrots. No avocado, no tomatoes, no tortilla strips.I called and asked if that was correct and they said no so I returned to get a new one. They took like 7 minutes to make it. & Then when I got home I bit into the burrito to have the exact same experience. I opened the burrito and saw there were a tiny bit of tortilla strips, some avocado (but barely any) and no tomatoes. I paid $8 for a tortilla with salad mix in it.... The only positive thing is the staff is nice. But I will never come back here and I wish I could get a refund.

It was my first time coming here. I was hesitant because of all the bad reviews on social media. However, my mother ate here today and said it was great. I ordered a #2 chicken combo. Got it to go. Didn't get any silverware. Good thing I was going home to eat it and not on my lunch break. The dish size seems to be on point with what I paid. Wow, it's very salty. The tortilla is hard and chewy. I wouldn't go back. ‍ It's not the best, in my opinion. #disappointed #wontbeback

Small rice next to salsa. They have taken small down to micro. Not sure when this became a small rice, ridiculous.

Let's not assume people want two bites of rice when ordering a small rice side of rice. Maybe a side of rices should be 1/2 cup or a full cup. Do better Rivas.

Went to Rivas today 8/9/25 to the drive thru took my order and in 12 minutes they handed me the order then took it home. Ordered ham breakfast burrito and menudo. Tastes great! I think Rivas deserves a second chance.

New to the neighborhood comes Rivas! I made the mistake of calling the wrong number and had to reorder my food when I got to the restaurant after a 15 minute wait and a mix up of whose name was who, but the young lady on site seemingly running their front of house was polite and accommodating. I ordered their steak fries, a steak burrito and their Rivas burrito combo. A bit on the pricier side I'll admit when comparing them to Roberto's or Carmelitas right around the corner. Everything was absolutely delicious. The fries were crispy, the steak well done, tender and deliciously seasoned. It was raining the evening I stopped by, but regardless it didn't stop anyone from coming in or pulling up to the drive thru which is open 24 hours. The service was a good 10-15 minute wait from the time I put my order in to when the food was ready which was to be expected and I sat inside and enjoyed a fairly chill atmosphere with your usual ambient noise and aromas of chicken, steak, pepper's and such. Overall, I had a great experience minus the hiccup. I usually get names I know, but I was thrown off by having called the wrong number and being hungry. I'll stop by again soon to take another visit and give you a better look at this new spot in North Reno. - Please note the contact number on their website for the one locally in North Hills goes to an Utah number. Please use the number on the mailer instead that reached homes a few weeks ago.

We recently went to the Rivas North Hills Blvd location (the old Steak & Shale building) to pick up a couple orders of rice, an order of fries and menudo. It took the restaurant about 30 minutes to fill the order, the first gal that took our order was indifferent but the young man that gave us our order was at least courteous. The food was reasonably priced and tasted good bit customer service and the speed of service definitely leaves room for improvement.

Found a thick black hair in my burrito. Yum Also got the asada fries 2/10 they taste as if they were smothered in olive juice

    3 different sized steak burritos

Ordered online 3 Steak burritos $57.13 plus $5.00 tip.for delivery on 1.14.26, through Uber Eats. Sorely disappointed with Rivas #20 in North Valleys Reno NV. When the order arrived, they were 3 different sizes. Contacted Uber Eats. Bottom line Uber Eats said via text, they would advise the managerial department, and due to their guidelines, no compensation would be given. This is the second time I've had issues with Rivas #20. The 1st time issue was resolved, this time, no resolution. I would suggest to anyone, not to order online.

My husband, son and his best friend wanted the Rivas Carna sada burritos on Saturday night, but I wanted their street tacos! We all loved my food and this is the second time I have had their Saturday special! At least this time it didn't become a huge pile of food all mixed together when we got home! The service at the speaker and window was helpful, which sometimes is a problem to understand! One day we will eat in the restaurant

First time having tacos from Rivas, glad to say they were very tasty, green salsa was great. I will definitely be coming back.

A nice bonus was the website said it would be 45 minutes for delivery and I think they delivered it within 20 minutes. What we ordered: Chicken wings Sweet potato fries Burger w/fries They do have good burgers. Kind of reminds me of the old A&W. Although this time the burger was a little more smashed than I like. Really nice size chicken wings, and the flavor was good. The only issue I have with this establishment besides it's a little pricey for a double burger and fries ... there tater tots, sweet potato fries, and french fries are not consistent. Three visits and each time one of the starches was undercooked. The first time was tater tots, they were mushy and oily. The second time I went in and sat at their table had a burger and fries and fries run cooked. The manager/owner was there and I brought them to his attention. I told him I didn't want any compensation as I was full, but I showed him the fries were not cooked. On this delivery, the sweet potato fries were mushy. If they could fix this issue ... even though it's a little pricey it's better than driving all the way to town for a burger.

The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner. To those that are wondering, this wildly popular mobile food truck does not have a dedicated Yelp business page but their truck is a staple part of "The Eddy". This is a community space where several other small businesses collaborate together in one communal area complete with music, games, and onsite entertainment. Since this is in the heart of Reno, you are in close proximity to the Riverwalk, Truckee River, and the glitz and glamour of the various casinos and entertainment all within walking distance. I came here (The Eddy where "La Barca" is located) with my lady during the evening on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 8:00pm. The mobile truck itself does not have any recognizable insignia or logo other than their name above the menu as well as their Instagram page: @labarca_62. However, the truck itself has a very cool theme to it with a painting of an ocean, shark fin, and an dark orange/red sunset which gives it a very colorful look. The menu is very simple with only your choice of a taco, burrito, quesadilla, asada fries, and a torta with all the popular meat options. Keep in mind that we barely made it here before they close as their hours of operation are 12:00-8:00pm. Since we were quite hungry after a busy day, I went with (1) Carne Asada taco and (2) Al Pastor tacos while my lady opted for (3) of their Carne Asada Tacos. The guys that run the truck were full of good vibes and energy which made the whole experience that much better. I will say that the tacos here were a bit on the pricier side (at $4/ea) but you're getting all the fixins including fresh sliced avocados, limes, jalapeños, and both red/green salsas to go with your tacos. As many of you know, I am a sucker for some good tacos and I will say that this place knows how to make them absolutely delicious! Both meats were seasoned to perfection and loaded with so much flavor. The red tortillas gave these a rather colorful look which set the tone for every savory bite. I will say that these tacos can definitely rival some of the best I've had in other cities like Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. All in all, "La Barca" is as good as it gets for me when it comes to Mexican food. My rating, a perfect five stars.

You could buy 3 pounds of hamburger at the supermarket for the same price. Frankly, I'm not sure how these fast food places can sustain this. However, I did fine trick to getting a decent meal for less than $10. Now for the food: First, you have to have the app. As of late, you get a free french fry with the purchase of any drink. So I order a large sweet tea, extra ice, and get a free french fry. Then some of the McDonald's, not all of them when you add a double quarter pounder to your order, you can customize it adding an extra quarter pound Patty for $1.50. Some of the other McDonald's will charge you three dollars, however, the one it's only $1.50. A nice thing about being a quarter pounder, I don't think they can actually reduce the weight and still call it a quarter pounder. Not really sure. I had to repeat my order so many times because the employee wasn't paying attention that I was practically yelling through the mic just to be heard. Total lack of basic customer service. When we got to the window, the order was completely ruined: Nachos BellGrande: Explicitly ordered with NO sour cream and NO tomatoes. It came loaded with both. On top of that, it wasn't even fully wrapped or closed, so it literally fell apart while trying to eat it. Cantina Chicken Burrito: This was a joke. It was so stuffed with cabbage you couldn't even see any meat, and it wasn't even rolled! It was served completely open, "taco style." Last time I checked, I don't work at Taco Bell. I shouldn't have to fold my own damn burrito. The Sauce: I asked to add creamy jalapeño sauce. Instead of actually putting it on the food, they threw a jalapeño salsa packet on the side. Not what I ordered, and not what I paid for. Being open late isn't an excuse to serve complete garbage and treat paying customers like an inconvenience. Avoid this location unless you want to pay to assemble your own ruined food.
