We have WAY better Mexican food options in the North Valleys. Rivas is by far the worst. I'd eat Taco Bell over this place any day. I bought 2 chicken Tacos, I was disappointed with the lack of cheese, I asked the girl for more and she said this is how we make them. I said the last 2 time I ordered them they had much more cheese. She took her time and came back with a male maybe manager and they were not going to budge. I have to say the amount of chicken was fine The lettuce was fresh a good. I just felt that customer service was lacking and it was obvious it needed more cheese. Food was very disappointing. The taste does not hit the mark for even a two star rating. I will never recommend Rivas "Real" Mexican Grill. Extremely high prices, broken soda pop machines, skimpy condiment bar, just all wrong. I will at least say, restrooms very clean as well as the dining room. read more

Made an account just to write a review. Wanted to try out Rivas for the first time because I was really excited they had pozole, I ordered it online and ordered some rolled chicken tacos. Big DISAPPOINTMENT! Pozole had nothing but bones in the soup, NO MEAT WHATSOEVER! I was pretty pissed off that I paid $16 for no meat pozole. My wife had the rolled chicken tacos and she said " Meh! ITS AIGHT" chicken was super dry, the rice was fine and the bean was very dry. PEOPLE! If you want some real good Mexican food, Go to to CIELITO LINDO TAQUERIA! My wife and I have tried this restaurant twice, 1st time was opening night so we let it slide. But tonight was the decision maker and I don't recommend it. Inside says salsa bar but none to be found, there's never any jalapenos, you can hang meat inside it's so cold, chips are free everywhere else.. Really? HORRIBLE customer service. The manager closed the drive through window in my face mid conversation. I'm absolutely appalled. I'm not expecting to be wined and dined at a shitty Mexican food restaurant but respected? Yes. Will never spend my money there again. Their card machine went down after I had already ordered, they asked if I had cash or could go get cash to which I replied I can't... had both kids in the car and my bank isn't close. I order 4 chicken tacos after a long night shift at work, I order the Jamaica Water and I paid $2.50 for a side of guacamole. I drove home all the way to south Reno and when I got there I notice that they forgot the guacamole in my order, but because I had a long night at work and I was very hangry, I didn't call to let them know that they forgot the guacamole. I returned 2 days later to placed another order of 15 chicken tacos closed to 75 bucks. I'll let them know that they forgot the guacamole 2 nights ago, and I show them the receipt. The girl at the window told me that there's nothing they could do because I didn't call. Sorry I didn't call after a long and stressful night at work, but you not trying to make it better or at least offer to replace the forgotten guacamole, I won't be back anymore and taking my business somewhere else. I went through the drive-through and got fajitas. Supposedly steak it was almost $20. I got home to eat it and the steak if it is steak was more like fatty jerky with no flavor in the fajitas at all. It's so disappointing that this Rivas's hasn't been there for longer than a year and i've been there a few times and just more and more disappointed each time I go. I drive all the way to the sparks location because it's so much better. I don't know what the north valleys location is doing different but you can tell the difference. I love Rivas's asada or carnitas fries but the north valleys one lacks a lot of things. I got carnitas fries last night and only went to the north valleys location because it was late and I didn't feel like driving to sparks (gave north valleys benefit of the doubt one last time) Their salsa is different for some reason, the carnitas looked and tasted different. It was extremely salty. My fries were soggy and hardly had any fries, usually the sparks location packs it up. This location overall makes Rivas look bad. I always tell everyone the sparks location (either one) is WAY better. read more

Terrible service at this location... 20 min waiting for my order and it was forgotten! When I mentioned it to the server she was rude and spoke to the cooks who then grabbed the wrong burrito from a drive thru order and gave it to me. All around horrible experience, showed up on a Saturday at 11:30am and there was only 1 customer ordering ahead of us and no one else, besides the people working which should have been a sign to tuck tail and run. We ordered asada fajitas and asada chimichanga, grabbed red and green salsas from the cart only to realize the red sauce was canned red enchilada sauce, the green was mildly spicy but altogether bland. Food arrived at our table minus the tortillas for the fajitas we reminded the lady that brought our food that we still needed and she said yes I'll go get them however she went straight back to the register to take orders, we waited with food on the table for 10min before she finally brought the tortillas. The rice was decent, the refried beans tasted like nothing but salt, the asada was very bland and tasted like the fat in a bag of cheap plain beef jerky so the only flavor in the chimichanga was the salt laden beans.. never again, we have plenty of great Hispanic restaurants in the north valleys alone and they're even more cost friendly... read more

Initially was super excited to have a Roberto's style mexican food spot closer to my house. We went on the first day and tried the bacon breakfast burrito and asada tacos. For the burrito at 8.50 it was average size and the flavor wasn't quite there.Their green avocado salsa is great but wasnt enough to make up for the lackluster burrito itself. My wife wasn't a fan of her Asada tacos either the meat was a bit too fatty and not all that flavorful and at 4.90 they were not worth it. Not to mention it took 20 mins to get our food. The service was good the employees were nice and friendly. We gave them a second shot a few days later since I didnt want to knock em out for the first impression. I got a steak breakfast burrito @ 10.50 and nothing else through the drive through this time since I figured it would've been a bit faster. Again another 15-20 mins for a simple burrito and for the size and flavor on this one I would not buy it again. We gave it one final try trying out their Asada fries at 14.99 around 16$ with tax. This sealed their fate for us. The meat is the same as the tacos we ordered previous a bit too fatty, flavor was lacking again had to add the amazing guac salsa but for the price it was simply not worth it. Unfortunately we probably will not be back here and will go to Cielito Lindo down the road. The place looks great and has a nice atmosphere and I sincerely hope this place improves. read more
