This is a cool place for a nice dinner date! The food and service have been impeccable when I've visited the establishment. I last ordered the roasted chicken and while this sounds rather basic, it was delicious.....very juicy!! To top off the dinner date, don't forget to visit the rooftop bar! Phenomenal choice of the Kings Estate Pinot Gris with the Scallops which were cooked to perfection. Went here before a symphony concert and the upstairs/bat area was wonderful. Carson and Jaxson were attentive and friendly when we went for a drink before dinner. Downstairs was AWFUL. Our server Jayden was slow and very absent. We got our drinks and ordered dinner and he was never seen again. We kept having to grab other passing servers to get salt/pepper, lemon and hot sauce. When I got to JAX I asked where was the best spot to eat and this place was recommended by many. I tried to book a reservation but they were booked up, so I recommend reserving a table far in advance. Although there wasn't a table available there were seats open at the bar in the main restaurant so thats where we ate. The drinks were well made, the bartenders were pleasant, funny and knowledgeable about the menu and the local area. The food cane out in a timely fashion and did not disappoint. After dinner a stop at the rooftop bar allowed for more good dri ks and a great view of the city. The rooftop bar does not offer the full restaurant menu, but the starters are definitely available. It's first come, first serve in regards to tables and bar seating. We were able to snag a couple of empty chairs and moved them over to the window. The view was worth the trip alone! The rooftop offers a unique view of the St. Johns river as well as downtown Jax. Hubby ordered an Old Fashioned which he really enjoyed. I went with my low carb go-to whiskey water. I was there for an Epclusa lunch and learn so there was a preset menu. It was a surprise to finally go inside since I have been in Florida for 6 years. I will be back. Happy hour us from 3 to 6 pm. I heard great things about this pretzel they had. The first time we went they ran out, so the next time I made sure they had it before we got there. And in all honestly it was pretty boring. Tastes like every other pretzel I've ever had. Not sure what the hype is about that. Upstairs is pretty, but you can only order appetizers there. They have an amazing "Bourbon and berries" drink. Now everyone knows this spot is the place to be! Beautiful rooftop bar, amazing staff, and each dish has ALWAYS been superb. It is a bit pricey but sometimes you get what you pay for. And this is the place to get it! Our server, Carmen, was disengaged, forgetful and slightly rude. Our expectations for a great time were tanked by a poor customer service experience. It was a hot day so unfortunately drinks didn't stay cold long in the heat and fans weren't really helpful. The far right of rooftop was more comfortable in my opinion and I regret choosing a better view over comfortability. Wings were undercooked, dressings weren't efficiently stocked, the pizza had way too much cheese and limes wereturnin. Not much going for the Sunday small plate menu. . . I'd honestly take pictures and leave if I ever found myself here again. Ultimately, I would not return. I'm going to start out talking about our server, Emily. She greeted us with a very pleasant smile and when asked for suggestions, she readily told us what was outstanding and her opinion. When we asked about customization of the order she eagerly said yes to all of our questions. She was thorough, pleasant, friendly, and a role model for white customer Center service should be. Now on to the food! I had the grits cheese and vegetable plate and I have to say not only was it filling but it was outstanding! The smoked Gouda cheese was excellent, the fresh spinach was phenomenal and the thickness was perfect. They also had caramelized onions in this dish and I have to say added great flavor. My friend had a hamburger and he was most impressed. The very very thick, they had it cooked to perfection he said. He also had the homemade blueberry cobbler, it looked great and if I was a blueberry eater I would've definitely had it. The crust on it looked outstanding. Overall this was a great experience! They were flavorless. The fish dip was good and the wings were hot although the skin was greasy. We sat on the east side of the lounge closest to the river. Do not expect an unobstructed view... the seats farther away from the river have a better view. Unusually high skirts on the wait staff are not classy. Service was good. My wine was excellent. Sometimes during happy hour in the rooftop could be a bit over whelming and not even find a place to sit, but during lunch it is the opposite. The food is amazing I have not had a bad dish. My co workers and I came here for a get together for dinner tonight. The place was easy to find and there is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant for you to park. We were seated at a table and was greeted right away. Our waitress was very sweet and nice. I ordered a calamari for an appetizer and for my entree the filet mignon. The calamari was your typical calamari, nothing fancy. The filet mignon, however, was just simply muy bien, oh perfecto, and freaking delicious! It was bomb. It was cooked exactly how I wanted and tasted amazing!! I ate everything on my plate, literally everything! That never happens! The rooftop was wonderful. The view was beautiful and it was so relaxing and chill. They have music playing while you sit on the couch, talk to your friends, order drinks and eat some appetizers. I ordered an amaretto sour and it was very good! Overall, I had the best time here with my co workers. Everything was on point and perfect. Upon arrival, my bestie and I were seated promptly with my little son, who is a chill dude. The ambiance was nice and laidback for brunch which was supposed to last until 4pm, they change the menu to dinner at 3:45pm. We had a the fried goat cheese appetizer, the bouillabaise, kids chicken tenders and rings of ruin. Aside from the the drinks, everything was VERY salty and the salt was very visible, I'm not sure if it was sea salt or just that much salt in the food. We decided we probably wouldn't be back for dinner, but will give the River and Fort location a try for an earlier brunch.
