They told me the only thing I could do was go inside while on the phone with them, because they lived too far to come check the place out for me. There was no attendant available and I didn't feel that was a very safe thing to do but I locked the door behind me to check the place out & make sure all was clear. I was alone and it was late at night. No bears or axe murderers! They didn't have any other rooms available to offer me. I got roughly 4 hours of sleep because of the smell kept me tossing and turning. The next morning, the two cleaning ladies admitted to leaving the door unlocked for the other one and forgot to close it. They were both aware of the smell and stated they needed to go behind the building to see if there was an animal that got in underneath. The place was tidy but was a horrid animal smell. I was told that I could get half a refund back but when I called Vacasa customer service, they told me I'd get $54 refunded, which is less than half of what I paid for 1 night. A few minutes after the call, I received a text that said correction only $29 would be refunded instead. That was just wrong and upset me. I called back and after several transfers, spoke to the team leader and was able to get the $54 refund. It's too bad the place was not so great because their customer service is right on top of things and decently easy to get a live person. But when they tell you one amount then text you and say oops sorry it's actually less than what you'd already said on the phone... that is poor customer service. I'm happy that I will be getting the $54 refund. I am currently watching for it to come through. 6/9/26

The hotel is a little bit out of town but that means there are no busy roads with lots of noise and traffic. It's a short drive to numerous restaurants. BTW, the restaurant easily accommodated the casual, family and fine diners. Now the casino...to put it delicately (and humorously): We each fed the slots thousands, and in return, they gave us...a life lesson in humility.Payouts were shockingly marginal and bonuses very infrequent. We are seasoned slot enthusiasts, who've enjoyed slot excursions across the state for over 30 years. Our slot experience at 7 Cedars by far overshadowed an otherwise wonderful stay. The 2 queen rooms have a nice sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo. My wife and daughter did complain about with the soap and shampoo for their shower. It has been a while since we've seen a bar of soap as most hotels use body wash now. The shampoo is a shampoo and conditioner combo. They did not like the soap or shampoo. Breakfast is served downstairs. It was continental breakfast only. No meats. Just waffles, toast, cereals, juice and coffee. It was good enough for the 2 days that we stayed there. They do have an exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals and dumbbells for you to lift. It was less equipment than at some other hotels, but it was enough for you to get a good workout. This might be the best hotel in Port Angeles. You don't have much of a choice. If you visit Port Angeles and want a nicer hotel, this is the place.

I contacted Samantha, who claims to be the manager, & the best she could do was a $50 refund. I specifically booked a room with a tub because I wanted to take a bath. I didn't even get to do that because of this ant infestation & the property doesn't take it seriously. When I let Samantha know there were ants she was like "yeah, that happens during this season." If it's such a common occurrence it should be marketed as such. If I would have gotten a full refund I wouldn't even be as mad. I didn't pay for a room with ants in it & when I let Samantha know that she said that I already got the room at a discounted price. Sounds like just because something is at a discount means it doesn't meet quality standards.
