Food was cold and the service was not up to par. It was not very crowded and we had a 20 minute waite. We were very disappointed overall.

We came here, not knowing what to expect. We thought it would be like a sports grill or a tourist restaurant on the lake. Restaurant was unpretentious and casual, the food was EXCEPTIONAL. We decided to split a signature salad and the pecan crusted fish. Both were excellent. The chipotle lime dressing on the salad was one of the best I've had. The food was accommodating, the service was poor and the FLIES inside the restaurant were horrible. We would have been better suited eating outside. Always good to know when you only eat at a place once a year it is the same each time you eat there. Always look forward to eating at the River City Grille in Marble Fallas. Always can depend on them having something good to eat. Had the chopped steak and fired okra. It really hit the spot after driving 4 hours from Dallas. One statement summarizes my experience here: as seen in the photo taken, we purposely didn't finish our food because it was a caloric waste/nutritional garbage. IF I SAW ANYONE WALKING IN HERE, I would tell them to turn around and go eat at sonic. Everything is extremely overpriced and the quality is not much better than an amusement park.... WISH I HAD EATEN AT STORMS!!!!!!!! Look at the French fries they served us? I was served those same ones in grade school! I wish I could have every cent back-but I can't say anything was wrong with my food..... Besides the fact that it was horrible..... The burgers were greasy, the green chili burger was watery (bun was soggy) and the menu said "warning: burger spicy" and it was ZERO SPICY. The green chili pork tacos were so bland. The only thing we could taste was the tortilla the tacos came on..... My buds drink, the spicy Bloody Mary was awful! You would be better off buying the canned version at the corner store!!! I can't say anything positive about this place besides the water and our server, "J." He was super kind but I'm suspicious that he knows how bad the food is. read more

We had reservations for a group of 8 and we were seated on time. I wish I could say the rest of our experience was equally prompt, but it just wasn't. It took a long time to get drinks and a really long time to get our food. It wasn't like the place was full, so I'm not sure why the kitchen wasn't ready for a Saturday night. Food was good - I had a fish and vegetables dish which was perfectly cooked. The others enjoyed their entrees and we needed a few take home bags too. I would give this place a try again, but only if we had a smaller group. read more

Super sad to see this place going "down hill"! The whole place just seems run down. Fighting flies (inside) our entire meal. Opened the catsup bottle and the lid had soaked up all the cleaning solution it soaked in and watered all over my food and table! Long wait for the food. We stopped in for lunch on our way through town. Service was great. The hostess at the front was very friendly and even helped the servers out! The food was good. The view is about the only thing this place has going for it. Don't get me wrong, the staff was nice too. The food was not what I expected. I ordered a side of green beans, took one bite and instantly knew they came from a can. Just disgusting. The cheese on the baked potato was super greasy and cheap. The restaurant was dirty too. A quick look up at the antler chandeliers and you notice dust and cobwebs. I went to the window to get a picture of the lake with the sunset & the blinds were covered in dust and the windows were so dirty I couldn't get a good picture. We should have gone to the chili's next door-and I don't like chili's. Bland tasteless chicken fingers. Hard overcooked fries. The mac n cheese was just noodles in liquid. My steak sandwich was flavorless and full of gristle. And the chopped steak was literally raw inside. I never like writing a bad review know how it can hurt business but in this case, I have to. We were welcomed just dine as we arrived but that was about it. It sealed like we bothered the waitress or she just didn't like our race.. she took our order and never came back to offer us a second drink or refills. When the food came it seemed ok but when we went to cut the salmon, it was so hard and dry it looked fake!! The mash potatoes where super cold and tasteless... the.. well you get the point. Nice place on the water. Beautiful decor. I had the Prime rib and I would give it 7 out of 10. Was cooked as ordered and was a nice cut of meat , just not much flavor. Fries were not the right choice, they were not very hot. My wife and granddaughter had the fried shrimp and baked potato. Not bad, but again not very seasoned. The food was just OK. Nothing special or anything to write home about. My grandson had Mac& Cheese with French fries. He was happy. He also had Rainbow Sherbet and he loved it. We did take a large slice of Apple Pie and Ice Cream back to the condo and it was probably the best part of the meal. Our waitress was extremely friendly and gave us great service. We may have made some poor choices on our meal. I have eaten here before serval years ago and it was good. The place has been around for years and is always busy. I will definitely give it another try when I'm in town. Just need to ask the staff what is the best thing and give it another shot. read more

The front service is bad. We came to enjoy some dinner and we get told there is a wait which is fine but what is not fine is that they seat a table of six before they seat you when you had arrived first. We decided to eat here because they have such a variety of food. We made reservations (for 16) after a conference and we were seated promptly. Some of us bought drinks from the bar and everything i tasted was delicious! The waiter we had was awesome but overworked. (Restaurant should have had more staff). We ordered the calamari and a couple of onion ring towers and everyone said it was delicious. When we got our food some was messed up (but we forgave him because he was taking care of an easy 60 people by himself). The chicken fried steak tasted watery and had very little flavor but they had great steak fries. Our table aslo ordered hamburgers, chicken quesidillas, pecan crusted talapia, chicken salads and grilled chicken which everyone said was awesome. I would go back but i would try something else. The atmosphere is very country despite being on the water. I was suprised there was not a fishy smell inside the restaurant, but outside was a different story. Parking was crazy being next door to chilis and a hotel (they all share a parking lot). If you are looking for some really good food go to the bluebonnet cafe across the street, just bring cash. read more

What a waste. We were so disappointed. Sent the calamari back. It was tough, tasteless and looked like small french fries. We both took a chance and broke our rules by ordering the fried seafood platter. Everything was so overcooked that we could not finish. Really suffered by eating what I did. The manager was apologetic and offered a $30 gift card, which we accepted hoping it was just "one of those days". The first time we went wasn't bad or memorable. My husband couldn't remember having ever eaten there so for his 69th BD we went again. Maybe the third time will be a charm...or three strikes? read more

This place is deceptive with the influences of social media. The food is ok and the service is decent comparable to most experiences in central Texas outside of the joints surrounding Fort Hood. To give this place a higher rating than 3 stars would be an insult to the small mom and pop joints doing it right. I can not put a finger on the wrong other than maybe the staff has grown to comfortable and cozey with what they have. What they have is the best location and a decent simple menu. They do have fresh food and in house cuts of meat. With that I would expect a wow moment in food preparation and display. That doesn't happen at this place. It is good but I always feel the wow factor is lacking. The prices are fair for the premium real estate the establishment sits on. You be the judge. Maybe you are more easily impressed, I am not but I would eat here again. read more

We stopped here to check out the view, and have some good food. We were traveling back from a wedding and my sister wanted "good" food, her choice did not disappoint. We sat on the patio, while it was a little breezy the sun warmed out skin. I had the spicy burger with bacon and grilled onions. It was so big and delicious!!! My brother in law did have a pork chop plate and said that the potatoes tasted funny. The waitress was soft spoken but was on top of it. Refilled my brothers strawberry lemonade 4 or 5 times. I would go back and visit but I would get some of the catfish. It was just to early for fish for me. read more

Went today to check the place since it is by our Villa. Disappointed with the Hostesses that were at the front. Three women in the front and not one could give us an answer about the seating. The restaurant looked completely empty but the three women kept whispering within themselves. Later told us it would be a 30 minute wait. Offered to put us at the bar knowing we had 2 children and needed a high chair. We ended up leaving because of the unprofessional hostesses. This has been a go to place for Lakefest until this year. The staff are fine but the restaurant needed a boost in A/C it was miserably hot. We ordered appetizer and entree and all came out rapid fire so that all the food was stacked around . Goodbye RC Grill... It was always a bit touch n go. Time to go somewhere else. Based on the comment from the restaraunt they obviously want to offer excuses for why the restaurant was so warm on an overcast day (it was by far the coolest Lakefest we have attended). Also, no acknowledgement of failing to control the orders coming out of the kitchen and the overall decline in quality. Out for a scenic drive in TX hill country for Father's day. Reading reviews to find a place to eat, and also wanting to see the river. This place has great views from the deck, and was able to seat us quickly on a busy Sunday afternoon. We were on the deck, I was worried it would be to hot, but a nice breeze made it comfortable. We watched as a rain squall moved in, and it turned out to be thunder and HEAVY rain, all of us on the deck had to run inside. Amazingly the staff were able to seat us in less than 10 minutes and brought our our dinners still warm. The chicken with green chile sauce and rice, it was delicious, despite what other reviewers are saying, the chicken breast was moist and tender, and sauce was tasty. My friend Connie and I ate here last night. Kirsty, our waitress was wonderful as was the shrimp po'boy and cheeseburger. The tomatoes were red. The fries were delicious. Connie's weren't quite warm enough, so Michelle (the manager) brought us both complimentary HOT french fries. Kirsty also brought us some hot rolls and butter before the meal was served.
