My chicken fried steak was decent, looks bigger than it is - about 1/3 of it was empty batter. Gravy was thick but had a good flavor. Shrimp was not good, wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the tuna with mango salsa. Fish was good, dirty rice was just ok, green beans were good. Overall it's decent, but nothing I would go out of my way to stop at. Traveling between Houston and San Antonio stopped in to check this place out. Can say it was a solid decision. smallish place attached to a gas station, however restaurant was clean and nicely kept. It was lunch when we stopped and most of the tables were full and the drive through had a few cars waiting. however the service was fast and friendly. The menu has man many options Asian, Creole, Southern Fried, Steak Burgers, and more. Enough options to keep most people happy. I had Crab Rangoons for a starter. There was 5 for $6 not a bad price for the quality and size. They came nicely fried in a wrapper that was not a regular wonton wrapper. This one was a little more flaky and less chewy that normal Chinese takeout. the filling was generous and had a good taste. The sauce seemed to be your standard sweet chili dipping sauce out of a bottle. However this a very big step up from the normal bright red "sweet and sour" sauce you get with them at most places. If you are a fan of Crab puffs give theses a try. For my main dish I went with the Lunch Fried Fish and shrimp. It came with a side salad and another side item I chose fries. The fries were ok not bad. The side salad was about what you would expect some iceberg with a few cherry tomatoes and croutons. The fish fillet was a large piece of fish that was nicely fried. It was a thick cut with a flaky moist inside and flavorful crispy outside. The best this was the batter did not fall off the fish. The shrimp were ok. good size and had an interesting batter. I could not be sure what the batter was somewhere between and Cajun flour and panko. They were yellowish, so I think there could have been some turmeric in the batter. A good cocktail and tartar sauce was provided with the meal. I would highly recommend checking this place out. I also noticed they have a drive though and take call in orders if you are on a time crunch. I now for sure on my next trip down I10 I will be stopping in. read more

Wonderful surprise! A group of 6 of us traveled to Stephen f Austin park for a hike trip this past Sunday and found this place on yelp when looking for a solid meal after a long day in nature. We were surprised to see it attached to a gas station and were a bit reluctant. After persuasion from some members in the group we headed inside. It wasn't busy at all and the service was AMAZING. Our waitress was Amber and she was the most polite and friendly waitress ever. She was so helpful and gave us incredible service. The menu is OVERWHELMING! If you can't find something for everyone here then you've got bigger issues because the menu ranges from Asian to seafood to steak to spaghetti- everything! We all ordered something different and got a few different appetizers. Ultimately everything was DELICIOUS! Between us we got lobster tails, snow crab, flounder, fried rice, chicken fried chicken, redfish, fried seafood platter and all 6 of us were pleased with our meals. Stopped by for our first and probably last time. The seats were not wiped clean and had dust and food particles on them. Gnats were flying around the table. Ordered the grilled salmon with dirty rice and green beans. it wasn't as I expected. Salmon wasn't tasty and the dirty rice was soggy. The kitchen staff made a mistake and originally brought us a very small portion of the fried okra appetizer we ordered. I asked the waiter if it normally comes in such a small platter. He said the kitchen staff made mistake. Waiter did apologize and fixed the issue briefly. Good service I wish the food tasted better and we will definitely become regulars. first we were told to sit anywhere. then told no u can't sit anywhere then she came to take our order then walked away when she came back I ordered the filet with broccoli and mashed potatoes and added 3 grilled shrimp. My husband ordered blackened catfish with crawfish etoufee they were out of dirty rice so he got fries and broccoli. we were charged an additional 1.99 each for the broccoli. which was cold and disgusting and inedible the mashed potatoes were also cold which our waitress wouldn't know because she never came back to the table until she picked the plates up and dropped the bill. would not eat here again. hubby said his food wasn't that good at all. the filet and shrimp i had was cooked well but not seasoned well. don't waste your money read more

We stopped at this place because it was convenient to our location as we were traveling home from Houston. Now that we've eaten there, we are flabbergasted at the high reviews for this place. To start with some positive things, the menu was quite extensive with a lot of choices and the food came out very quickly. However, everything was overcooked. I ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp with french fries and they were both just shy of being burned. My daughter got the jumbo shrimp, which was fine. My wife got the Sweet and Spicy Chicken, which was so inedible she stopped trying after a few bites. DO NOT EAT HERE! "Not good" 1 star, should be "not acceptable". We chose to try this place for dinner ~7:30pm on a Wednesday. It was "seat yourself" greeting (only two of us) and with only 2 tables being used and 1 table just leaving, we had 10-12 other tables to choose from, 4 tables we went to were sticky, the table that was just returned to service (new utensil/napkin wrap placed on table) this table had visible food smears. We went to a larger table it seemed OK, about that time the manager met us, i told him all the tables we tried to sit at needed to be cleaned, he said "we will clean them tonight". we were close to leaving but there are very few restaurants in Sealy so we wanted to "try it". We ordered 6 Large Butterflied Fried Shrimp, Chicken Fried Steak, each come with salad & one side. Salads were OK 1 had a couple off color pieces of lettuce but over all looked and smelled fresh, dressing was house made Ranch from seasoning pack but tasted ok. The Shrimp were smallish (26-30 count) each shrimp on the plate had a dab of grease under it, baked potato looked OK, the shrimp tasted old and tough, the sour cream on the baked potato was rancid. The Chicken Fried Steak was cooked in a deep fryer on its edge where the meat was over cooked on one end and the breading on the other end was more than an inch away from the meat, trying to give the CFS a chance with the gravy only made it worse, the mashed potatoes were very dry and no help from the gravy. When the waiter came to see that we were not eating he explained the "regular cook" was not there and he would talk to the mgr about "discounting " our bill. The waiter returned with the bill without explanation, only to say he was surprised the backup cook was not better.The "discounted bill" was only 15%. The manager did not come to speak with us.
