BLTA with a side of house made chips
    Hillevi G.

The Riverhouse Bakery and Bistro is warm and welcoming. They make an outstanding corned beef hash and the biscuits are to die for! They also make an excellent BLT, I order mine on toasted sourdough with avocado and a side of house made chips, which are delicious (and addicting). Tho I've yet to taste everything offered in the bakery cases, I can and will sing the praises of the carrot cake and cinnamon rolls. Brava, Riverhouse!

We had an amazing breakfast at Riverhouse. The food was delicious and super fresh. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Place was clean and the music coming from the kitchen was fun too. We hope to come back next time we're in town.

We finally stopped by for breakfast. It was very early when we arrived but people quickly stayed to fill up the seats by the time we left. My husband had the French toast breakfast (amazing brioche bread). I had the river house breakfast. Both were amazing. We took home some to enjoy later. We will make this a routine for sure

    Biscuits and gravy

Tried Riverhouse for the first time with my kiddo this morning, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! And this will become my go to breakfast spot in sequim. I grade breakfast places on the quality of their biscuits and gravy, and most places claim to make homemade gravy and just use the gross white packet sauce, but Riverhouse absolutely knocked it out of the park with their sausage gravy. Like WOW! I myself can make a pretty mean biscuits and gravy meal, but even theirs kick my butt. Hands down the best biscuits and gravy on the Olympic peninsula, and possibly even the state. This place is a MUST try. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to bring the rest of my family in for a meal. You guys are going to become the #1 place in sequim for breakfast.

Pastry case Cheesecake and bread pudding (the two things I've had) are amazing

Food was mediocre at best. I was disappointed in the sandwiches. No taste, no flavor.

I normally drink Bud Light, not drinks, and this was the best drink I have ever had. It was phenomenal. We started with the beef carpacio. It was tasty, tender, melt in your mouth, it just needed a little finishing salt. We had the duck, the veal, and the cannolli traditiozale. Duck was cooked well, we just expected something like we saw on TV where it was a whole breast with crispy skin, but this was sliced with no crispy skin, but tender and delicious. Glad we tried it. The veal was tender and delicible. Will order again.. Neither of us thought the potatos were noteworthy. Veggies were julienned rainbow carrots with extremely fresh tasting sweet pea pods, like from someone's garden picked on the way to our table. Delicious. I am still taking bites of the cannelloni. The filling was so scrumptious. Crepes were tender. Sauce was perfect. We forgot to get dessert! Service was in point, attentive, and patient. Very impressed!

We started with Caesar salads, which were good, but our food came out right away before we could finish our salads. I got the lasagna and it was fine though the vegetable medley with it was weird. Actually, the menu is a weird mix of Italian and Asian flavors that I don't know work well.

I was starving and asked for bread out quick which they accommodated despite it not being on the menu as an app. We had a little lag for our food, but they were slammed busy, not a single spot open at the bar or the tables. After a first attempt where a restaurant's hours were not updated, we found Stymie's in Sequim. It's one of the restaurants at Cedars at Dungeness golf course (the other one is Double Eagle Steak and Seafood). It seems to be the more casual of the two options and we opted for it since we were in hiking clothes. The hostess told us we could walk in and try to find a table. She warned us it might be a long wait. Thankfully, we found a place to sit right away and a waiter gave us waters and a menu. We ordered cups of clam chowder to start. Thankfully they were out quickly. We got drinks while we waited for our food. The Dungeness crab Mac and cheese was listed as an appetizer, so we assumed it was a small portion. My husband got the fish and chips and I got pasta with shrimp. We got our entrees first, so we thought maybe the waitress had forgotten we ordered the Mac and cheese since they were so busy. She then apologized for the wait and said she'd be bringing it out shortly. We weren't planning on asking about it because their portions are very generous and even though we were hungry, we realized it was so much food. When the Dungeness crab Mac and cheese finally came out, it wasn't in a small cup, it was a whole bowl of delicious goodness. The Mac and cheese was resting in some sort of sauce and they were extremely generous with the crab. I loved that you could control the ratio with each bite. I wish I had taken pictures of the menu and its description, but all you need to know is that it's the BEST Mac and cheese I've ever had. I was floored that it wasn't mentioned in any review nor pictures. Maybe it's a new addition. Don't walk, RUN if you're nearby. You won't regret it and it will be worth the wait. I forgot all about my entree and just focused on the Mac.

The gold and art deco furnishing with the varied lighting and green-gold wallpaper, along with the unexpectedly detailed wood carvings under the bar were great. All in all a great place to stop into and chill was a great ending to our day. Will absolutely visit again!

They were perfectly fried with a crunchy exterior, all heightened by a lovely drizzle of honey. 5/5 Fried Chicken Sandwich - This sandwich was a monstrosity! If I were Sasquatch, I'd still be full after eating this. They practically put two fillets into one sandwich. The breading was flavorful, and the chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. I definitely appreciated the generous portion size. 4/5 Ahi Tuna - Deliciously fresh and simple. The tuna was lightly seared and served sashimi-style with a perfect rare interior. Being so close to the ocean makes you appreciate how fresh seafood can taste, and they deliver that here. We were also warned that the kitchen gets "overwhelmed" with big groups, which we appreciated their honesty. Our table decided to order a variety of items and to share. My mom would've loved the schnitzel but when I asked if they could put the spaetzle and sauce on the side, the waiter told me "no, the chef won't do that because it would be visually unappealing." We ordered it anyway and it tasted good but my mom couldn't try it. I think it would've been fine if the spaetzel and sauce were on the side (would've been my preference too) so it would also keep the schnitzel crunchy. But anyway, we also ordered the seared tuna, which was too garlicky for our liking, the shrimp boil, which was very good, and the fried chicken, which was just ok. My sister sitting in the next booth also ordered the brussel sprouts and that was easily the star of the show! This restaurant allows kids but I'm not sure if I would really consider it to be "kid friendly" since they did not offer a kids menu. All-in-all, food was good, service was honest, and we would probably come back.
