Dropped in for dinner last night. Made reservation just in case because I wanted to sit on the beautiful patio with my dog. Went about 5:30 on Sat night to beat the hard-core dinner crowd. The patio is three tiers with the 3rd tier closest to the river. A really pretty patio. They were ready for us when we arrived and hostess walked us around side of building to access the patio with my dog without going inside the restaurant. Problem was at end of sidewalk, there are 3 rather large steps down to the deck and no handrail. I couldn't navigate the steps with the dog, so the hostess was nice enough to take my dogs leash and give me a hand. Without her help, I could not have made it with my disability. After I was seated I noticed access down to the other two decks closest to the river were also via stairs. Don't think the deck is really ADA accessible. Anyway, menu looked good. Started with a glass of 2019 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir, an outstanding wine to find by the glass at any restaurant. Lots of good appetizer choices, I went with the Seared Ahi Tuna with a wasabi crema and side of ginger. Crema was good, I like my Ahi just a little more seared on outside. Thought it was taken off just a few seconds too quickly. For entree, went with tried and true 10 oz filet. Was cooked great (medium rare +). Very happy as steak places almost always undercook their steaks. It was paired with asparagus and a side order of mushrooms and onions. Was really tasty. For dessert went with the fresh mixed berry crumble with a small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. My table service was pretty good. There was a guitar musician playing on the patio. Good song selection and not too loud. One of the patio servers took the mic and did Tennessee Whiskey rendition. Really well done. Parking is tough. This is a large establishment and the lot is limited. It's was completely full when I got there and I had to drive down the main drag about 100 yards and park on the shoulder. It worked out ok, but that made me a bit nervous. For apps, drinks, entree, and dessert, expect to pay $100 pp + tip. Made patio reservations for my hubs bday with friends. The view was amazing! Being fall, it was cold & got colder as the evening progressed. They didn't have the heaters out yet, but our awesome server, Misty, was able to move us inside and took exceptional care of us all evening, even accommodating a guest that got held up at work. The food was amazing. I had the filet, was cooked to perfection. Hubs had meatloaf, friend had the lamb & a rib eye. Brother had the wedge. Everyone was so please & kept saying how nice it was & great food. Finished the evening with the PB Brownie for the bday boy! It was to die for. If you ever get the chance to go to the Rivers edge restaurant, do it. Such an amazing location. We sat at a table at the lowest level right by the river, makes for wonderful background sound. We had reservations and were sat right away. The calamari appetizer was perfectly prepared, crispy yet not overcooked and served with a mustard sauce and lemon wedge. We each ordered a side with entree. 2 salads and a bowl of clam chowder. They'll make the salads smaller as a side to the main dish which isn't stated on menu. The caesar was very good. Steaks were cooked to perfection with great seasoning and they did not skimp on portion sizes. The filet was 10oz and absolutely seemed that size. They do also tend to have a special entree but get there early for that, by 7pm they only had 2 left. 4 stars due to bees and flies that come around tables outside so be sure to ask for a fly fan. read more

Driving through town on a road trip, I found this restaurant on Yelp and with the beautiful weather it seemed like a lovely spot to stop for a light lunch. It was a Sunday about 2 pm and they were only serving brunch but we asked if we could just get salads and they were happy to accommodate our request! I had a house salad with grilled prawns and my husband had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I had a glass of white wine, my husband had a glass of Jack Daniel's and we sat by the window with a lovely view of the river! It was a delightful stop! read more

When I complained about how dry and overcooked the beef was, the chef indicated it was because I chose to have the horseradish on the side instead of directly on the meat!? Our friends invited us here for dinner. It was a very good dining experience. The menu was different. Grant's Pass completely surprised me with how unique cuisines were, and how innovative restaurants were with their menu. This is a classic fine dining establishment. The view of the Rogue River is so serene! Reservations are recommended, you do not want to dress like a bum, yet they have Chowder and Tamale on their menu. The twist on said items completely blew my taste buds away. I loved their Salmon and Pea Shoot salad. Chowder was downed in a jiffy! Tamale and risotto made for a genuinely good combination! Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini and Crown Royal and Ginger Ale were carefully prepared by the bartender. Top marks! Service by Tahyler was fantastic. She definitely knew her menu and cocktails. Picked up my sister from the airport and she said she was hungry so I grabbed my phone and looked for best restaurants in the area. I picked this one and was a good one. We had the calamari appetizer and they were delicious and the sauce was great. Then she had ordered fish and chips and really enjoyed them. I ordered clam chowder to start it was more like potato soup not enough clams or clam juice however the remainder of the meal was amazing. Their rolls are addictive and they serve with a delicious compound butter. I had the filet Oscar cooked perfectly and my husband had the seared scallops which were beautiful to look at and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu we never had to wait for anything and we tipped him well. Wonderfully classic with beautiful views! We have found ourselves happily seated in a booth here at Rivers Edge. Our server is Maren. She is attentive and cheery !! We ordered the Wedge salad which is perfect with the famous local blue cheese, dressing, tomato, bacon and super crisp iceberg lettuce. Next to the table was an inventive take on pork belly. Sitting in a wonderful apple purée were four perfectly prepared pieces of pork belly, topped with a smattering of potato crisps. We ordered the ribeye steak. I'm from San Diego, CA and I thought this was a great introduction to Oregon considering it was the only restaurant we dined in. We went on a busy Father's Day and silly us, we spent a few days boondocking in our campervan that we were oblivious to the occasion. Regardless, we were able to sit at the patio without a reservation and we were treated well despite it being busy. Service was slow but very sweet. Coming from a major metro like San Diego, I had to leave my anxious-fast-paced expectations at the door because the food was stellar. My boyfriend had a delicious pot roast sandwich au jus while I had the tastiest burger I've ever had. The fries were terrific too. If you're passing through the area from California like we were, don't hesitate to drop in. The view from the patio is also incredible. It sure beats a painting of a river!! read more

Some of my traveling friends recommended this spot to me on the Rogue River in Oregon. As usual, they were right! I was warmly greeted and seated in a comfy booth where I could see the river flow by. I ordered a watermelon lemon drop on the rocks in a tall glass and it turned out to be delicious. The wine list also included a very nice Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Moving right along, my server Misty recommended the roasted corn and tomato soup. Wow! Was she right! Rich, yet gluten free. It was a tossup for the entree and, once again, I went with Misty's recommendation and ordered the Oregon lamb chops. Another great choice. Raspberry-lime sorbet was an eye catcher. It was fluffy! NOT A FIVE STAR!! Just wanted to grab your attention TERRIBLE!!!!! Had a reservation for a 1:30pm lunch for 3 to celebrate my Mom's 79th birthday. About 11am got a call from the restaurant, I called back about 11:20 but there was no answer so I left a voicemail asking for a call back. There was NO call back so we headed to the restaurant from MEDFORD (so that's a 30min drive). When we arrived a sign was on the door saying they were closed due to PLUMBING. A call BACK would had been the thing to do instead of driving my 79 year old mother out in the bad weather. So I had to come up with another place to take my mother. I wanted to take my Mom here because of the ambiance. The food is ok and over priced. Bottom line management should had a person managing the phones to return calls and to answer the phones. Just think about those customers who arrived only to be just as disappointed as we were. Again place has a good ambiance looking over the river, this is just one of the reasons we return. read more

Such a lovely place! Really wonderful food, definitely a cut above the majority of Grants Pass restaurants. The service was fantastic, our waiter, Deuyne, did a good job of making us feel special. He stayed on top of things, which was really nice. We sat at a table with a glorious view of the rogue river, we ordered a cranberry margarita which was both strong and tasty! Let me say this, a lot of lame restaurants water down their drinks....not this place. I give them big kudos for that. The appetizer of fried calamari was perfectly cooked, the bread rolls were soft, warm and extra buttery, and our meal of bacon wrapped meatloaf and mashed potatoes was pure comfort food with the added bonus of being extra gourmet...this isn't your mother's meatloaf, it's better. read more

This is probably our 5th time dining at this restaurant. We live 3 hrs away and eat here when in the area. Always excellent food and service. Tonight I had the Calimari appetizer and the Apple Salad. The Calimari was cooked to perfection, not overdone,...crisp and tasty, with a great aioli sauce to go with it. The Apple Salad had roasted pecans, mixed greens, blue cheese and a cider dressing. My husband had the cheese stuffed shells in an arribiata sauce. Delish! Live acoustic guitar to lend a beautiful touch to the ambiance. A well-trained staff waited on us. The other server in our area was all over her tables. We felt pretty ignored. Getting food out in a timely manner was a challenge. Polenta was left off my dish ... told it was a kitchen mistake and it took 30 minutes to get it ...By that time, I had finished my meal and then we were charged for it when it should have come with my meal in the first place . Despite the poor service, we enjoyed the food. Blackened Steelhead was perfectly cooked and really fresh. Meatloaf was good. Dessert got sent back and taken off the bill because they did not honor a request to omit something that my husband could not have despite telling the server. Food was mostly fantastic and very well-prepared. My husband loved his scallop appetizer (pan seared perfectly opaque in middle) with lemon aioli; my fried artichokes were lightly breaded (black pepper and thyme in breading) and fried perfectly crisp (not oily). Served also with the lemon aioli and a basil sauce (latter suggested by our server). The artichokes are a large order (took more than 1/2 home ... they heated up very well in a frying pan with just a touch of oil). The smoky steak pasta was well prepared ... tender steak, al dente pasta, and not too much sauce. My rack lamb was tender and flavorful, but overcooked (I asked for the rare side, and it came medium) and the risotto was overcooked (not al dente) and too dry. The carrots and berry red wine sauce were wonderful. Dinner rolls are light, yet crisp on the outside. Brushed with butter after baking and lightly dusted with salt. Comes with regular and/or garlic-herb butter. Make sure to get the garlic-herb butter (I'm a garlic hound). Creme brulee was yummy. Simple custard with bruleed sugar coating ... no berries or other sauce ... didn't need it (and wouldn't have wanted it). Nice wine list. Server (Julie) was great. Looks like a cool deck for warmer weather ... we were inside by the fireplace. Nice and cozy. Went here with a large group last night. There's a beautiful appointed dining room and bar. Wait staff was very efficient and friendly, ready to accommodate. Cocktails were on point, deliciously crafted. Smoked Bacon Old Fashion was a stand out. Food was hit and miss. Steaks and lamb were stellar, just outstanding. Salmon was overcooked and cold when brought to the table. Ribeye pasta was a bit disappointing. It really just had one note of flavor despite having roasted tomatoes and arugula in it. Desserts were delectable (recommend the Crème Brûlée and Lemon Cheesecake) but the Berry Crisp wasn't the least bit crisp, more like sweetened oatmeal with berries. If l was to come back I'd be sure to just order certain dishes and enjoy the awesome bar. read more

Granted they have a beautiful view. Our experience two weeks ago we arrived on a Sunday around 4:40 very quiet, one party eating inside and three outside. We stood there waiting to be greeted for 5-6 minutes. We hear personal chatter there. Finally someone from the kitchen noticed us. We ordered cheeseburgers one well done one med, after 45 minutes we got these $18.00 cheeseburgers, she never remembered which one of us had what, again for $18.00 each. Worth the drive! We wanted to branch out of Medford and try something different. The food was delicious, everything from the taste to the presentation. Our server was attentive and timely.
