Great place to come and watch a game(they have multiple screens for (football/ sports) and have amazing food and drink! I always get the appetizers. The J-Pops and the Crab Cheese Puffs are my favorite. On cold rainy days, they have an amazing ramen soup bowl that warms the soul! You will not be disappointed. I know what you're thinking because I was thinkin the same thing: Asian and Tapas don't go together. As a matter of fact, that almost stopped me from going. Fortunately, Yelp reviews convinced me to give it a shot. I went for a late dinner and wasn't sure I had the right place, as the sign was hard to see and it looked more like a dive bar than a good Asian place. I sat at the bar and had a friendly and helpful bartender. I asked him what his favorites were, and went with his suggestion by ordering the seared peppered tuna and chicken wings. I opted for a heat level of 3/5. The seared peppered tuna was excellent. It was served on a bed of mixed greens with a balsamic-style sauce. The greens are one of those confusing parts of a dish where I ask myself "is this a garnish? Do I eat this?". The sauce was so good, I didn't care what it was and devoured the whole plate. The wings were also good: a slightly dry chicken was more than madeup for by the sauce which had the right amount of heat with a hintness of sweet behind it. I'm still pretty sure that Asian Tapas isn't a thing, but after eating here, I'm also pretty sure I don't care. Great spot. read more

We stopped in this small town for dinner during our road trip. Ambience - 3/5. It's more of a bar which offers unexpectedly good mix of Asian food. Service - 5/5. Not only they were friendly but also extremely kind. After the end of our meal, we asked if they could make a special chicken stir fry with no seasoning for our puppy and they made it for us without any hesitation. Our puppy who refused to eat her kibble all day finally stuffed herself. We can't thank you enough!! Food - 3/5. Expect your local teriyaki house level food. My mi goreng didn't taste anything like mi goreng I'm used to, but it was a good Japanese yakisoba. It reminded me of an old Japanese restaurant in used to go with my late grandma. Their chicken stir fry was pretty good too. If you require a lot of protein though, we'd recommend you to double the meat. Avocado bomb reminded me of my college year. It's a yummy spicy tuna stuffed avocado tempura. If this restaurant was in a bigger town or city, I'd probably rate it 2.5/3, but it's a 4 star filled with nice staff in this small town. So we went to visit Taroko on 6th St. In Grants Pass. This was our first time, we told the server "it was our first time here", he did not mention any customer favorites. We ordered chicken kebabs, beef kebabs, Poke salad and Corn Fritters for an appetizer. Beef and Chicken kebabs were so disgustingly overcooked no flavor at all truly disappointing! When a customer comes in for the first time and tells the server we've never been here, it's a given that they would recommend customers favorites. When we asked for the bill, the server then decided to recommend what most people eat there. Well truth be told I never see anybody walk in and out so when you walk into a restaurant and no one's there one may rethink eating there, and may ask WHY isn't there any customers here? I've always wanted to stop by here and found it to be pleasant and comfortable. However my meal was very disappointing while my friends enjoyed their choices. Since I'm on a low carb diet, noodles and/or rice were out of the question so I chose an expensive bowl of wonton soup. $16 for a mediocre bowl of soup was outrageous. The broth was delicious as were the vegetables. The smal slices of beef and chicken were chewy and relatively tasteless, especially since the "pork" wontons obliterated all other flavors because they were so full of ginger they wiped out my palate for the rest of my day. Also, the wonton skins were thick and chewy. I would possibly order the soup again but without the wontons. There was no evidence of pork in them, instead it tasted like they were stuffed with ground ginger root. Tough, chewy and overbearing. The portions for my friends' dishes were generous and they both felt they enjoyed their meals. I would recommend visiting for the friendly atmosphere and interesting "mocktails." read more

I am always skeptical bars having good food, but the instant you open the door you're hit with all the smells of fantastic food. We're returning customers and every time the food has been amazing. How'd I end up here... A big part of my work requires a lot of travel and on this particular night, we were on our way up from Eureka California to Eugene Oregon. Portions are exactly what you want and expect for the price. Flavors and execution of the dishes we ordered were perfect. Crab puffs, man these were slammin. I can only think of crab cheese rangoons that I had in Seattle's Pike Place Market that are comparable. Beef was nice and tender not chewy and the broccoli which accompanied were fresh and cooked perfectly. The curry I will not even attempt to describe. It's unfortunate that I will only be able to enjoy this curry when I'm in Grants Pass because when I crave curry, I will always think of the Opur Curry I had here. Interior is also lacking. Not enough sound-absorbing materials so the space is very echoey and the overall interior feels cold and sparse. Really fun place with awesome food and drinks! We stayed in Grants Pass for the night and needed just a quick bite. After leaving a place just a couple blocks away because it was extremely understaffed, we stumbled into Tarokos Asian Tapas Bar and are so glad we did! The menu had a variety of craft cocktails that were superbly made. We had three small bites, pork pot stickers, coconut chicken and corn fritters. Each dish impressed us! Nothing was greasy! First of all, the service by everyone was welcoming, warm, friendly, and sweet. These folks clearly enjoy being together and working here. The ambiance was 'dive bar'. The food was ALL fried, which is NOT how Michael and I typically eat but it was a Monday and almost every place was closed. We had the J-pop, which was very tasty but fried. We ordered the calamari. It was very good but fried. Michael had the potstickers which he enjoyed. I didn't eat any of those but I LOVED the Asian dipping sauce that came with them. Yummmmm! We had the chicken satay with peanut sauce. I adore warm peanut sauce but this particular peanut sauce did NOT taste like peanut sauce. The chicken wasn't particularly tasty either. We wouldn't order that again. I ordered the hot watermelon margie. NOT delicious but I needed it to swallow the fried food. It didn't have any real watermelon in it. It had a really nasty-tasting liqueur called watermelon pucker. Disgusting -- according to my tastebuds. And it wasn't hot. All in all, my husband and I had an adventure. We aren't going to choose to have that adventure again but it served the purpose this time. I imagine a lot of youngsters really enjoy this place. Good for you! BUT tonight I witnessed a very inappropriate interaction between one of the cooks and our bartender. She was yelling profanities and being very loud. Wow, we drifted into Grant's Pass around 8:30pm and we were all hungry. This was the only place open after 9p. We expected the middle of the road, but had four great meals. I've been here a couple time & have been pleasantly surprised both visits. I like the clean, somewhat stark interior. The cement bar top has a good feel. They use cloth napkins & real chopsticks, which really pleases me that they aren't disposable . ***Please switch to paper instead of plastic straws & I'll happily bump my review up to five stars*** The service has been very good at both the bar by myself and at a table with a few other diners. Their food is delicious. Not a huge menu, but what they offer is very good. Their selection of beer, wine & spirits is nice. I've tried a couple signature cocktails, which were excellent. We shared a bowl of wonton soup and a plate of noodles with tofu. The soup broth was rich and tasty and full of perfectly cooked beef, chicken , tasty wontons, broccoli and mushrooms.
