They don't carry any gravel bikes with 650b wheel sets and didn't even suggest a bike where you could swap out 700c for 650b. They only sell bikes from Trek or Specialized. I bought a very expensive full suspension carbon frame T rek mtn bike from USA Cyclery. I first looked at the bike at their store in Redlands but was out of stock so went to Riverside to make the purchase. They only had a size medium in stock, but rather than wait, convinced me that medium was the right size for me (I'm 6' 0")! I was new to the sport. It felt small but they customized with a 150mm extender stem on the handlebars. BIG MISTAKE! I didn't realize how this adversely affected the bike performance. My weight was then shifted 6" forward, now over the front wheel, even further forward on downhills. I had no idea how dangerous this was until I replaced the bike with an appropriately sized bike this year. Retrospectively many falls and difficult descents I attribute to this. I've exclusively used the Redlands store for servicing the bike and have purchased several bikes for the kids over the years and felt good about the service. Was having problems with my brakes not working right and had them take a look at it. They decided the brakes needed to be re-bled. When I got my bike they told me my brakes were defective and were the biggest pain to work on. When I got home noticed that my break lever had a lot of hammer marks all over it. Than it clicked that they were pounding on my break lever to try and get the bubbles out of the line. I was pissed when I figured out what they did. Not professional at all. Bought my first bike here and couldn't have picked a better place. I'm new to this and so based on my height, I thought I was a 56 based on Trek's size chart. I came in and Loryn had me try out 3 different bikes, including letting me test ride them in the parking lot to assess my size. Ended up realizing a 54 fit me better. Liked the customer service so much I ended up purchasing a Trek Checkpoint on the spot; of course I did my research before so I didnt purchase the Checkpoint randomly, but I didn't come in with the intent of buying a new bike right there and then. Picked up my new bike a few days later and Richard helped me out. In addition to installing pedals I brought with me and adjusting my saddle height, he also walked me around the store and gave me a bunch of beginner advice, with no pressure to buy anything. The customer service here is on point. They seem to have a real passion for bikes and it shows. I bought the bike a few weeks before Black Friday sale. I went in and was helped by BK. I needed a new tube and some cable housing. BK was on the phone the whole time. Misplace the items I wanted there was no way I would let them fix my bike. Nobody in ye store was working on anything and it would have taken them till 5 pm the next day to do 20min max of labor. I am a shopper! I like to talk about what I am passonate about, Biking is one of those passions. They are helpful, point out the difference between choices, NOT a lot of pressure, so they don't 'hunt you down!' But they are friendly and will come over once 'eye contact is made' Great store to browse in. I had 2 events planned, back to back and my cannondale (bought elsewhere) needed new chain and cassett in back. They took the job and worked to get it finished that day. Overall I've spend on the average $100 plus a month in the store for tires, tubes, cassetts, clothing, shoes. Local owned, and they ride! 10 bucks isn't going to kill me on price. Prices for bikes? Looking at mountain bike to buy and they are right there with folks in San Diego, Corona and Redlands. They did great job fitting me to my Cervello, too. read more

I'm surprised this place's rating is as low as it is. I've only been in twice, and both times have been great experiences. I took my old cruiser in to have tubes replaced, and was barely charged anything for it. Also, the man did it on the spot, I think I waited maybe 5 minutes. Today, though, I took a mountain bike in to be assembled and get new tubes. We walked in and the guy let us know they were really backed up, and said the soonest they could do it would be next Monday. However, he then said, "you know what, I don't want you to have to wait that long" and proceeded to fix it himself. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. I believe it was the same man as before. The prices on the bikes do seem a bit high, but it's a specialty shop, not Walmart, so I kind of expect that. Am I professional cyclist? No. Therefore, would I purchase a $2000 bike at a cyclery? No. They have a huge selection of cycling gear and bike accessories, which is cool, especially for browsing. A ton of really cute Electra and Nirve stuff to customize your bikes with in all different designs and styles. All in all, a fun place, as long as you're willing to drop hundreds of dollars on a bike- or realize what kind of shop you're in. *Also, both times I've been here, the staff has been delightful. The guy who fixes my bikes is kind of gruff, but still very helpful. read more

I have been coming here all the time since I got my Trek 7.4 Fx back in April 2014. They have a wide selection of bikes, parts and accessories for all rider types. The salespeople are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful which goes to same for the service technicians which I have also used in the past. I bought parts, accessories and apparel here many times. Yesterday, after being educated and assisted by Steve, I bought the wifee a Trek 8.3 DS (Dual Sports) that fits exactly what we need. I was very pleased with the help that I received while shopping here. I purchased 2 bikes and some accessories. The manager Al was one of the guys who helped me with picking out the bike that was right for me and my girlfriend and he was really nice to us. I have been to the shop several times and received just the right amount of help, if I needed help it was easy to get someone to assist me and if I wanted to just browse and look around I didnt feel pressured by people standing over me wanting to make a sale. Both of the bikes that we purchased were put together very quickly for us to quickly be on our way to enjoy a day of riding! It was a great experience for us! -Edit- It has been couple of months almost since that last post and I have still had nothing but the best help and assistance from these guys. This is a rating for the repair service. (As far as customer service, it has been hit and miss in the past but I notice it is better this year). Anyway, I brought my classic Univega here for a tune up as the rear rim was out of round. (It is a dedicated to an indoor trainer mainly for the winter time). Not only did the mechanics do a great job of truing my rims, they adjusted my derailleurs really well. I am surprised how crisp the shifting is now; it's even better then when I bought it new. Outstanding customer service. I called to get a bike rack hitch. The representative told me he had only one left. I asked him to place it on hold. He told me he would make sure all the parts were there and that he would build it for me! He called later to say it was ready. When I arrived, the cashier found my bike rack, and in the blazing heat, installed it on my hitch and showed me how to place my bike in the rack. I highly recommend Cyclery USA. The good: Lifetime Tune-ups with a bike purchase. Price matching if you bring a print advertisement. The bad: Higher prices than other local bike shops in the area. Bad repair & tune-up service. Rude managers. The bottom line:You can get better deals and much better service at any of the other local stores. I liked Performance Bikes and Circle City Cyclery (both in Corona). I had a horrible experience and according to the other reviews on socalmtb.com, so have many other people. The manager, Al, became noticeably irritated on the phone when I asked him to price match some of the other bike shops in the area that were selling a particular model. He said he would call me back after verifying the lower price with other stores. Later that day he told me that he didn't find the prices were any different from his and implied that I had been lying. WTF? I had called and found at least three stores that were selling the bike in question for $70 less than Riverside Cyclery. But before I could reply, he told me that he didn't appreciate being nickel and dimed and wouldn't price match because he wouldn't make anything off the bike. He said, "If we're talking about a $5000 bike then we'll talk." Ugh, it wasn't worth arguing with the guy anymore so I just hung up and went to Circle City Cyclery. They price matched my bike without any hesitation and provided lifetime tune-ups as well. I'm never stepping foot inside Riverside Cyclery again.
