Buying a brand new car was a great experience...no hassle, haggling. People were very kind. However less than 48 hours after purchasing the vehicle, we are hearing creaks upon turning the vehicle. The creaks are so loud and move from door to door as I pull through the turn. It sounds like the frame is stressed and vulnerable. The service dept can only evaluate the vehicle. There is no satisfaction/ time period window once the papers are signed to return the vehicle according to CA law unless that cooling off period is purchased but that is not offered on new vehicle purchases through Honda. Disappointed that there wasn't any offer made for us to immediately return vehicle until it can be evaluated. read more

This is my first Yelp review EVER. That's how pissed I am. I get it, everyone is trying to make money, but I draw the line at blatant lying. My plan for buying out my lease was ALWAYS to go through SchoolsFirst. They had pre-approved me for a loan at an amazingly low interest rate. When speaking to a SchoolsFirst representative on the phone, she told me that I'd need to obtain the Lease Buy-Out paper from the Honda dealership before I could start this process. So I went to the Honda dealership and worked with a gentleman named Barry. I never trust dealerships, which is why I do tons of research and ask questions beforehand so that I am super informed and don't get taken advantage of. AND YET this is exactly what Barry tried to do. I went in, told him I wanted to buy out my lease but that I would go through SchoolsFirst since I was already pre-approved. He handed me a credit check form and told me to fill it out. I was confused... The woman at SchoolsFirst just told me my credit wouldn't need to be run since I'd be financing through them and not the dealership. Barry explained that there was a new rule that went into effect in 2021 and how all the employees also think it's "really unfair" but that your credit has to be run if you want to buy out your lease. Again, I asked, "Really? Are you sure? Because that doesn't make sense if my bank is already telling me they will give me this loan." He insisted this was the case and there was so other way but to run my credit. I left after this less than 5-minute interaction, went to my car and called Honda corporate. Turns out Barry was wrong. I went straight to SchoolsFirst. Turns out I never needed to go to the dealership in the first place. All I need is the dang Lease Buyout Packet, which I can get by calling Honda corporate. I am upset. Barry had the chance to educate a first-time lessee/car buyer, but he chose to lie and try to do an UNNECESSARY credit check on a 28-year old who is trying to maintain her good credit. I have lost faith in dealerships altogether, and especially this one. read more

To whom it may concern , This review is my experience about dealing with riverside Honda , we have been going & dealing with them for years & have purchased 4 new cars through them , all payments made on the loans on time & never had bad credit history (credit score of 795 with extensive history ) , so when I went looking for a Civic SI I understood that the mark ups and market value was very high because it's a very coveted car which is why I let them know our monthly price we were willing to pay (right under $600/month at most ) & we both agreed that wouldn't be possible which was okay with us , we decided instead to look at other options , like the Honda Accord Sport , right as the sales man Raymond Hernandez was coming out with the keys to test drive and look at the car , Juan the "manager" of the dealership came right behind him & simply said "you can drive it but your payment is going to be the same as the SI so we won't be able to get a deal " when the price was about $9,000 less on the accord I didn't understand but simply said okay we will look into another dealership then. We transferred so sierra Honda of Monrovia & we're able to get the new accord I had been looking for , for an amazing deal with a $500 down payment & 4% interest rate & a monthly payment that was way under of what we expected after the loss value on my trade in was added , sad to have walked away from riverside metro group after 8 years of going to them back for more cars & I hope that no one has to experience what we went through . A dealership is supposed to make buyers & the way they treat them a priority & it had been that way here for many years , but obviously it's not that way anymore . The sales people literally laughed at me when I came in with deals I found on the internet. They handed me off between 3 different people like I was a waste of their time. They lied to me and made me feel stupid. I left feeling disillusioned and upset because I'd pretty much decided the Pilot was my next car. I literally went down the street, a few minutes later, to Acura to test drive the MDX. (The luxury version of the Pilot.) They apologized for the way Honda made me feel and sat me down to explain everything about residuals and leasing. STUPID STUPID HONDA. My experience was less than pleasant. I was reminded why I usually only deal with CarMax, as their no haggle sticker price, and no hidden fees philosophy is what gains my trust. The sticker price deception and haggling over trade in value causes me to pause and question the integrity of the Honda dealership. Management was condescending and a bit aggressive. I do not appreciate being talked down to as if I do not understand basic mathematics that a car of greater value will cost more money per month. I can afford a greater payment, but why would I throw good money away after a poor deal. Why would I trust people who tell me one thing only to change sticker price and trade in value. Great customer service!! Right when we walked threw the doors everyone was courteous and friendly. My husband's friend Andrew helped us find the best car for what we need. All the cars are super nice so it made it hard to decide which one we wanted. The restrooms were surprisingly super clean and they had a changing table which was just what I needed for my son. They worked their magic to get the car payment that we wanted we wanted. They didn't have the car color I wanted but all the colors look nice on an accord. Although a long process which is to be expected, I had a great time through it. My family and I were assisted by Rick Oviedo, who is a superb employee and salesman. He was so nice, comforting, and informative during the whole process. During the test drive, he told me about so many features the car had that I wouldn't have known otherwise. And many more that I've seen with other cars but didn't fully understand or do my own research with. Like the "Eco" feature. In some rentals I've driven, the Eco light goes on and off at all these random times. With the Honda Civic I purchased, I control the feature! On the pickup day, Rick made sure to get all of the paperwork ready and completed as fast as possible. He showed me the set up he had done for the tech part in the car so it was customized for me. He even gave me a gift! This shiny keychain to add to my keys! And through all the hassle and stress between my banks and getting insurance, Rick was very calming and assuring. In November of 2023 my sister was looking to purchase a vehicle at Riverside Honda. John Schilling the sales consultant made a very predatory and inappropriate comment that if she needed more of a down payment then he can offer her services to "clean" his house. What type of business is being ran here to where you have sales consultants picking out single females and asking inappropriate questions like that in the middle of a potential car sale? A phone call and a complaint was made but their response was "we apologize and we know who you're speaking about". For any women wanting to select this dealership for services please keep your guard up and I hope that anyone who had a similar experience with this establishment does speak up because this is egregiously unacceptable. read more

I'll go ahead and take my business elsewhere..I can think of plenty of cars with twice the horsepower for $60k. Never felt so much pressure in purchasing a vehicle and applying for loan I have already been approved on. If purchased that vehicle I would have lost $22k the moment I drove it off the lot. My step daughter bought an used car from this dealership 2 years ago. They promised my step daughter if she paid the loan for two years on time at a crazy 18 % interest , they would re finance her at a better rate . After being promised by phone that if the car is clean they could help re finance it. She made an appointment with John Schilling and was told to come to sign paper work and let the dealership inspect the car. Instead John brought in a manger named Remero who spent 3-4 hours trying to force her into a new car. There was complete disregard for the promise they made over the phone. Pretty upset about the communication. I leased to bought my car a few months ago and I bought the extended for an additional 3k. When I bought the extended warranty I asked if I could still bring in my car for maintenance and be covered with the extended warranty like I have been when the car was leased and had the warranty I paid for, and I was promised that I could since I was paying the 3k additional to buy out the car. When I took my car for service this week I had to pay $114 for the service that was usually covered since the extended warranty didn't cover the maintenance. I'm pretty upset because if I knew this wasn't the case I would not have added it on when I purchased the car.
