It was such a one way street here with the sad stories about their car shortages. It was not about the customer. I was looking to buy a used car for one advertised price, but when I got to the dealer they had added extra add ons to the tune of $3k+ that Gladys, the Internet sales Manager never brought up. Everyone is willing to bend over backwards at time of sale but if you have an issue after the sale they truly do not value you as a customer. I should have followed my gut instinct and walked out without purchasing from them. I was offered a free tint from them and this tint did not end up free. The tint company they use damaged my vehicle and now Riverside Honda is not willing to make me whole and fix a scratch that they claim would only cost 300 dollars to fix. There is so much more to the time and aggravation that I've had dealing with this but if I can recommend anything it would be to go purchase your vehicle else where. I can't believe they would want to lose the loyalty of a customer and not value me as one over a 300 dollar scratch that their own tint person admitted to causing and explaining how it was caused. Needless to to say I am one very dissatisfied customer and am going to make sure to never recommend this dealership. In the service department, Scott Brady is awesome and goes above and beyond. I had an issue with a my electric parking brake system. Got it taken care of no problem. When it came time to pay, I was told I was out of warranty. After reviewing my contract, it was found out I had purchased a 3rd party warranty (who knows why).... Scott called the provider and the Hemet Honda. Got the situation resolved for me in 15 minutes. $351 bill down to $100. TL;DR - Scott Brady in the service department is the real MVP. read more

7/27/2020 - This is a review just for the sales department. I live up in the Bay Area and did my research when it came to purchasing a car. Step one was finding the avg price of the car via KBB or True Car. The second step was run an excel sheet of all Honda dealerships from Sacramento to San Diego using Google Maps. I ran quotes for each dealer and then filtered by lowest price. In terms of SALES PRICE (MSRP - dealer discount), Riverside Honda was by far the best. dealerships in SF, SD were higher by several hundred. Some even a couple thousand. Accessories/ Pro-packs are mandatory from this dealer (at least during my convo with Kevin Fan, their internet manager). However, the discount this dealer gave on the car combined with the accessories from the pro pack (floor mats, door edge guards, Paint Protection package) made the car only $400-500 more expensive than my local dealer who sold the car with NO accessories (think $30K from my dealer, $30.5 from Riverside w/ discount + mandatory pro-pack). In hindsight, I think that the deal from Riverside was a good deal for what I was getting and I would have considered flying down to purchase if not for COVID. The first day that I leased this car was amazing . However, ever since the day after we leased, it's been the worst experience of my life and I can't believe I allowed this terrible company bamboozle me the way they did . When we first got the car, they couldn't find the spare key so they said we'd need to come the next day for it, came back, they still didn't have it, had us waiting for an hour just to tell us that we need to come back when they can find it, then they call us to come down AGAIN, we come, they don't have it and they tell us we need to give them our key so they can make a new one which would take a couple hours, so we had to come back another day because they didn't tell us we'd be doing that and we had work that day. So we came back the next day and had the key made. Then there was an incident at the service department about a week later . Then after not even a full year of having this lease, one of the salesmen literally harassed me into coming in by emailing me(which is fine), but after a couple emails of me not responding to his suggestion for me to buy the car, he began calling me, then when that didn't work, he began texting me saying that I needed to come in "ASAP" and basically cornered me into refinancing the car to buy it because he said it was either that or I would have to give them thousands of more dollars and I kept saying I didn't think it would be a good idea and of course he kept going back and forth with me not dropping the situation until I finally got scared into it . He knew I had never purchased a car, only leased, and I believe now that he wanted to meet his end of the year sales so now I'm paying way more than what the car is worth. Then a couple of days ago, I had a different associate contact me through email at 10:30 at night, about wanting to help me lower my interest rate so I emailed him back, waited til the next day around 11am, no response . So I called him with the number he provided, no answer. So I wait a couple hours, email and call him again, then he texts me saying he'll call me in a little, I said okay, hours go by and he says it's been a crazy day and that he'll call me in a little, okay .. never calls, so I text him around 5PM saying I guess we wouldn't be speaking because I was now walking into work . Then he says maybe we can talk tomorrow(today), because it's been a "psycho day", so I said ok. Today comes around, I text him at 10am, he responds a little while later saying he was gonna do more research on my file, I said his info was wrong to begin with and that I was paying less than what he said, then he said that's an awesome price to pay, I said it's not when I'm paying more than I can afford after being harassed into this contract by them, then he says some dumb comment "well the nice thing is that now you don't have to worry about mileage penalties." ... No .. I then went on to say how ridiculous they are and that I've had nothing but problems with them from the beginning and how I was bothered that he had never called me back like he said over a whole day ago and that I had to have an unpleasant conversation through TEXT . He then says, "Actually, Mondays and Tuesdays are my days off and It's my daughter's birthday today and yet I'm still trying to help you out. But that's OK, I can just call you tomorrow when I get back into the dealership. Have a nice day as well!" So first of all, I don't need the argumentative comments trying to make it seem like you're doing me this huge favor by contacting me on your day off, nobody asked you to write me on a Sunday night after hours. Why contact someone the night before your two days off ? That was incompetence on your own end. When I first went here for my 2011 civic I had a bad experience, they promised me stuff in paper that they didn't end up giving me in return for them fixing my window that already needed fixing when I bought it. The sales associate i assume was new and only cared bout getting the sale. The second time we stopped in, after talking numbers we weren't sold so we tried leaving and the man kept insisting, brought over the manager and had our ID's so we had to listen. Yet now we were looking for a family car and stopped by Toyota to see how it was there but didn't find anything. My husband offered to go down to Honda, I was skeptical but agreed. We initially were going in to talk to Noel but he was on a test drive. The manager saw us waiting and right away brought us an associate named Devin. He listened to what we needed and didn't care for. He understood our budget and the importance of it since we just had a baby. He explained the details of the many cars we took a look at, never in a rush. We test drove it and proceeded to talk numbers. He explained various ways of walking out with the car and not hurting our budget. He brought the manager over to help us understand everything a little bit more. And even tho Devin was our helper Noel still assisted in getting our car clean and ready Meanwhile. At the end we got our 2019 hrv sport at a price we were comfortable with. The next day I noticed some scratches or whatnot that I didn't see the night before. I reached out to Devin and he fixed them no problem. I'm not sure if this dealer had a reality check, or if it was just the people who helped me out that day. But the service was great. As I was leaving walking back to my car Mr Oviedo Saw me and asked if they were able to resolve my issues. When I told him that I would have to wait and come back he said "Let me take a look at it for you". We got in the car he started looking at it and simply restored it to factory settings then he did the complete set up for me . Once again this place gave a bad buying experience. This place is convenient because it's 5 min away from my house. I took my mother because she wanted to trade her car in. The salesperson Agustin Gomez was "helping" us. My mom liked the vehicle it was a 2022 red Honda H-RV sport model. The price was steep for the features so we were trying to negotiate. Agustin literally said "before I go and ask for discounts or anything we can do I want to make sure you're serious about the car because I don't want to do all of this work for you to walk out at the end." I've been in sales for years and this tells me that you don't want to do your job. The conversation was consistently brought back to the same thing whether we were serious or not. Honestly we were but the attitude and level of customer service we received was way below expectations. These people assume that because they sell Honda products they don't have to try and sell anything anymore. There is also a shortage of vehicles so this "you get what you get" attitude is not the right attitude to be a salesperson. Take pride in your job and promote your products. Don't expect them to do the work for you. Instead we went to corona Nissan and were treated with respect by people who wanted to do their job. I will be reviewing them as well. read more

He gave us a price that we thought was great but when his manager came back to talk to us he gave us a completely different response. First off, just want to say that his gas-lighting and backtracking on what we talked about with his sales associate was completely unreasonable and contradicts what he told us he stands for. He basically told us that we're the idiots for believing what HIS sales associate said. Not to mention he went on another tangent about how if we looked at Nike shoe resellers who only go for the highest price that we should understand where he was coming from. You are not resellers, and your admittance to say that you'd rather screw over someone else in order for you to get more money out of them says a lot about your person. The negotiations started with a $5000 "market adjustment" on top of all the extra crap they had added to it. The next insult was the offer they made on my trade-in (4 year old Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L with less than 20K miles). They offered me half of what they listed it for a few weeks later! Now two months after my trade-in I have received a ticket for toll lane violations on my old car and a notice from the DMV that the license plate will be suspended because I don't carry insurance on the car I sold to Riverside Honda. I have never experienced such lack of care for customers as this sales department seems to show. Oscar knew my boyfriend was looking at the used cars and only wanted a car in the 300 or less a month range. We went in today and Oscar proceeded to show us a car for 425 a month. My boyfriend said he didn't want that high of a payment. I asked if this was the only car available in our price range and he snapped at me saying he looked through 15 cars and asked "Do you have any other input? Do you want to give some money or co-sign?"
