This review is for the Service Dept. Specifically the porter who greeting me and helped me today. I didn't catch her name. I came in on a whim as I was passing through town during my commute. My tire pressure light went off and I stopped to check it out. Tires looked saggy so I drove the next exit to the Honda Dealership and drove to the service bay. I was second in line and was greeted and helped within a few minutes. They took my car back to have it checked and she said it would take 20-25 min. She showed me the waiting area which had soft drinks and hot drinks, WiFi, and tables and chairs. I got a drink and set up my laptop and worked for maybe 10 min before she came in said said I was all set. I was told all was fine and my pressure was low because of the cold weather. They filled me up and adjusted the settings. Service was quick and courteous. I'm a happy camper. Thank you! read more

I had a very nice experience at Riverside Honda, which is really saying something as buying a car is one of my least favorite things to do. I mean, let's be real, I really hate the whole process of buying a new car. I had been searching on line for a week gathering information and quotes from dealers. I took my father with me for moral support. We were buying a car for my son who just graduated from college. I was looking for a Honda Civic EX sedan with Sensing. I first dealt with Jaylen in Internet Sales who was very pleasant and listened to what I wanted. I had just driven all the way to Cathedral City to find the model/color we wanted because it seemed scarce. That sale didn't pan out. I had also gone to another dealer that essentially did the bait and switch routine to get you in there--not buying there! Jaylen was persistent in trying to reach me and get me to come in. He said they actually had the color we wanted! As he was leaving for the day, Jaylen referred me to Barry who would be my salesman. Barry was gentle, low pressure, genuinely friendly, and easy for us to deal with. He was also patient. He first drove us around the dealership to search for the car on the lot which was actually fun! Then we all got in and ran it through the car wash so we could look at the color--also fun! We took test drive which included the freeway since I was wondering how the acceleration was with the 4-cylinder engine. Frankly, the car was fantastic in every way. What I also appreciated was how Barry was attentive to my dad, who at 90, does not get around very fast. But now it was time for the dreaded moment where you make the deal! You know, the part where you haggle and they leave you in the chair forever to sweat it out while they get their quotes, then they boggle your mind with financing scenarios, etc., until they wear you down and you either buy the car or leave. I hate the haggling process and was trying to avoid it at all costs. We did go back and forth a few times until we reached an agreement, but Barry didn't leave us sitting there for long--his boss was quick to respond, and he was fast in returning to us with updates. It was closing time, and even then, he showed no impatience with us. At no time did I feel any pressure to close the deal. Barry knew I was very nervous about the whole process, but he made it seem easy. Well, you know that after you make the deal, you have to head to finance where you can get pressured all over again to buy the extended warranty. Well, we were lucky to have gotten Leon in finance. He was also a very nice person! (It was well past closing now). I couldn't make up my mind on the extended warranty and wanted to think about it overnight. Again, no problem and no pressure! What? Is this for real? The next day, we came to pick up our new Civic and it was ready as promised. Barry took a lot of time explaining the interior features to my son and stayed with us until all our questions were answered. He made it a very pleasant experience all the way around! I recommend you seek these fine people out at Riverside Honda, and I hope you have as pleasant an experience as we did. If you want an internet sale, ask for Jaylen. Excellent service in purchasing a new car and their service department. Make sure if you do get your car serviced here that you find your own transportation home. I waited over 20 minutes for one of their drivers to come and take me home. The driver never showed. When I take my car to Culver City Honda the driver is there waiting for me and takes me to campus when I bring my car to them. Honda dealerships in the Orange County area have no problems getting a driver to take me to and from work when I bring my car to them. When I told the lady helping me that the driver never showed she offered to put it in again which I declined. I'm not sitting around all day long for one of your drivers to not show up again. My car would have been ready at that rate. I ended up walking home. I don't mind walking home, but don't keep me waiting for a service you cannot reliever on. Do not trust them when they say they got drivers to take you home from the dealership. Like I said, find your own transportation. You'll save yourself time. read more

These guys are CROOKS and their customer service is absolutely the worst. After agreeing to a predetermined price online, they jacked up the price by $500 when we were closing the deal because they said an interior and exterior sealant package had already been applied. As it turns out they never applied it. The sales guy straight up lied. I complained to their "customer service manager" via email but never heard back. Then I called and spoke to a sales manager, who told me he would refund me the money. He offered no apologies and was very indifferent. Of course the check never showed up. I had to get corporate Honda involved. Then a different sales manager called me back. When I asked him about the complaint that I wrote, he said that they were still "investigating" it. Investigating for 30 FREAKING DAYS. They finally agreed to give me my $500 back. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Do yourself a favor - do NOT buy a car from these guys. read more

Today I became the proud owner of a 2015 accord EX-L coupe. Overall I had a good experience, John was very patient and let me check out and test drive a couple of the accords in different body styles and trims. In short, John and the floor manager worked out a great deal with me and for a first car purchase I think it went very well. NEVER EVER GO HERE! I bought a brand new civic in Sept 07 and it has had multiple problems since. I don't blame Honda, I just wanted to be able to drive away in a reliable Honda. When I spoke to the owner (Richard Michaelson), he was beyond horrible...demeaning and belittling. He accused me of being "uneducated" and went on to raise his voice at me and refused to help me with my situation. He stated "go talk to a lawyer about lemon laws and then you can call me and have an educated discussion about lemon laws". When I went on to explain that his sales mgr was the one who brought up lemon laws, not me he stated "WHAT! I will bring him in here right now and terminate him and you can help find him a job". I was absolutely dumbfounded. When I explained to him that I have had problems with my car every few months since it's purchase, he proceeded to explain basic math to me stating that "a few months is 2-3 months, it seems as though I have only brought my car in two times which means every 9 months." He failed to notice that the few times I brought it in it was for SEVERAL repairs. He actually ended with a recommendation to have our repairs done at another dealership. You would think in this economy he would value his customers more. Especially since he has a letter on his website explaining how he is there to help unsatisfied customers. yeah. right. read more

They advertise manufactured retail price (big sticker on windshield) and verbally tell you that is the price of the car. Once you inside to make the deal, they trick you into selling all the "options" and the total price (in little writing) is the total of the car. I was accused of wanting all of the options that I did not want for free! Ummmmm, no! They are options for a reason and I did not want them. I wish I remembered the name of the supposedly sales manager inside. If you would have had a different tone (condescending) and not accused me of wanting free products, I would have loved to negotiate with you. Came in to purchase a Honda Odyssey using TrueCar. A gentleman named Kevin was super helpful and explained the features of the car very well. There was another guy (forgot his name), who was the approval guy on rates to see if Honda could beat our APR through our bank. Basically wasted our time doing to back and forth dance. Lastly, there was a lady in Finance, named Denise, who was the worse. She explained the extended warranty and we kindly declined and thanked her for reviewing it with us and she replies rudely 'why don't you want it?' Also, we had questions regarding the paperwork because we wanted to double check everything, and she was not helpful at all. Continued to be rude and be snarky the whole time. We merely asking questions and after everything was signed, we thanked her for her help and offered to shake her hand, and she said 'I'm ok.' I should have never went here, it's just a waste of time. I was contacted by the Internet Sales manager Wendy Barich, she does not respond to emails very quickly and she offer to beat the offer made by Spreen Honda. When I asked her by how much they could be the price, she told me come and see. her exact words in email are "Happy to say that I can beat them. Bring there price in with you." Once I got there I was greeted by Wendy for a few second and then she handed me off to another sales person, I never saw her again. Once we started talking prices, they couldn't even come close to Spreen Honda's prices and they would not do the 0.9% financing offered by American Honda. They lied about their price just to get you to drive up there. I wasted one and a half hours driving up there for nothing. Also the sales manger was not very nice and wouldn't even ask Wendy why she lied about beating the price of Spreen Honda. So my lesson is to never go to Riverside Honda again or any of their other lots. I would like to tell you my experience regarding this branch of Honda Riverside. You see, our experience earlier wasn't so good. We purchased an Odyssey van 2014. The next day after using it ( mind you the distance the vehicle traveled isn't far.) my father began to smell something coming from the hood, which smells like its been burnt, we opened the hood and checked. Moments later we found it difficult to close the hood. We contacted this branch of Honda and they said to bring it there and so we did. It took us 40 minutes to arrive there since there was slight traffic. Upon arriving there and getting off the car we encounter a female employee named 'Debbie', who didn't greet us at all. She just went in for the hood and ignored us; then she wasn't like the other employees who would greet us politely like the guy from the service department who would treat customers as friends. Debbie was rude and pretended the car's hood didn't have problems at all when in fact, she had difficulty closing the hood as well. Moments later after the hood was finally fixed, Debbie tried to close it. The way she closed it was harsh, heavy-handed and too strong; in other words: slamming it-- She said it was the 'correct' way to close the hood. It is obviously not the correct way to close it. We know how a Honda car should be properly handled. This is actually our 4th Honda vehicle that we have purchased. We were disappointed as to how she had handled it. And it was also disappointing how you're a customer and you are treated like a fool. The other employees were so friendly and polite; however. read more

Credit pushers! I came in in to the dealership knowing exactly what I wanted and I had a check of my own so a credit check was completely unnecessary. However, the salesman and manager insisted that they could not negotiate a price unless they checked my credit- which is completely false. I, myself, come from a background in dealership management and know how the process works. It seemed to upset them because I wasn't buying it. Instead, they insisted at I finance through them and kept pushing for a credit check- again this was unnecessary because I was paying by check. They refused to negotiate the price and instead wanted me to pay sticker price which I could pay at any dealership. When they saw they weren't getting their way, the manager added a few rude remarks which were inappropriate. With that said, I left the dealership with a very sour taste in my mouth. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. In fact, the very next day, I went to another Honda dealership where I was treated with respect, courtesy, and exceptional customer service and I purchased a higher end Honda then previously expected due to the great negotiations that were made. Bought a 2008 Honda CRV via the internet. They matched all the other local dealers and was driving the car home within an hour. They didn't try to upsale me anything either. There service is excellent. An oil change is cheaper than the local EZ Lube, and they wash your car while you wait in their luxe waiting room with free donuts, coffee, expresso machine, sodas, plasma tv and internet. I actually look forward to getting my car service there. A couple of years ago there old dealership was kinda of crappy, but this new one is wonderful and the service is much better. read more

I wish I had read the reviews on Riverside Metro Auto Group as well because the complaints there are mostly about Riverside Honda. Reading those reviews made me relive my awful experience with this dealership. I can't believe they've been selling the same lies for years. If you still plan on going to any of the Riverside Metro Auto Group dealerships, at least be prepared for the lies that will be thrown your way. This is information I gathered from my own buying experience. My Question: Do you have the car I want in silver or white? Lie #1: Yes, Riverside Honda has the exact model you want in the color you specified. Reality: I made the two hour drive from Pasadena then toured their various storage lots/parking garages for another 25 minutes only to be find out they don't have the car in stock. Then they told me the car will be available in 5 days. It was delivered to me in 11 days. My Question: How much is it? Lie #2: The price for the car is $____. Reality: What they don't tell you until you get there is that they will not sell you the car at that price. They will not sell the car to you without the interior & exterior protection package which is an additional $1300 (splash guards, wheel lock, rubber mats, cargo tracy, upholstery and paint protection). Why? This brings us to Lie #3. You don't even have the car yet and you'll have to order it, right? Reality: Well, guess what! When they delivered my car on the 11th day, NOTHING was installed. That meant that this "required add-in" was truly optional all along. They even had the audacity to ask me to drive back to Riverside so their service department can install the package. Reality: Riverside Honda claimed to have checked with AHFC then came back with a 2.99% rate. The truth is they did not even check with AHFC if I qualified for the rate. My Experian credit score was 788 so I went and applied for financing myself and got approval from AHFC. But 12 days after I purchased the car from Riverside Honda, AHFC called me to let me know they just received my file from Riverside Honda and that they never received an inquiry before I made my purchase. At this point, the dealership had already locked me in with Capital One at 2.99%. My Question: Can you please send me the refund? Lie #6: We'll send it out today. Reality: They didn't send the refund out until 6 days later and only after I had to get a third party advocate to contact them. Suggestions (or what I would've done differently): 1. Price out any options you're considering to buy then you'll know their prices are outrageous. 2. Know your rights. You should know that you can purchase the Honda Care Warranty from any Honda dealer. Riverside Honda initially drafted the purchase contract with the $2300 Honda Care in it without my agreement and so I told them to take it off. I was able to buy a better Honda Care Warranty plan for $1,100 from just doing some research on the internet on my own. 3. Take down names and get everything in writing. 4. This is a review of the service department. New to Riverside so looking for place to have my Honda Civic serviced. Sent my daughter in with the car for a simple oil change that should have been $33.00 and she was slipped a $93.00 B service 'because the computerized service system on the car said she needed it." Looks like "up-selling" of services to an unsuspecting consumer to me. A call to the department confirmed that the service department employees are paid a commission for the services they recommend. Consumer beware! Also, one of the cashier's was clearly ill (red, runny nose and mopey). Asked if she was not feeling well and she said she was sick. I asked why she didn't take a sick day and she said because Riverside Honda does not allow sick days. What kind of a way is that to treat employees---no sick days--really???? Brought my Honda Prelude here 4 years straight while I was a student in Riverside. They always took care of me. Scott at the service dept always took care of me, and made sure my car was taken care of. Having had a Honda, all i really came in for was oil changes. I was always treated with respect and service never took too long to be done. I find their estimated wait times to be pretty accurate too. They offer computers to sit at and surf the web while you wait, as well as soda and donuts to munch on. The cashiers are super friendly too, all of them are usually very bubbly and talkative. I'm only knocking one star down because i did have an issue once when servicing my car, won't go into it, but seemed like a different adviser was trying to pull a fast one on me. I resolved the issue, but the fact that it happened knocks off one star for me. Overall, i'd still trust the service staff with my car. read more

Worst experience ever!!! They sold me a car that they said passed a safety check-wrong! The headlights didn't even work! what? It took them 3 weeks to get the issue resolved and in the meantime they gave me a loaner car that smelled like someone died in it and had 2 seat belts that didn't work. Are you serious? The helpful Honda people aren't very helpful. At least, not the ones who helped me. I was looking at compact SUVs and mid size sedans. I forgot the name of the man who was helping me, he was a short older man with short gray hair and blue eyes. He spoke to my husband first and apparently all he heard was compact SUV because he appeared very surprised when I mentioned wanting to look at the Honda accord as well. He then asked if I wanted a sedan or an SUV, but slowly like he was speaking to someone who didn't understand what the difference was. He was very rude. He was pitching to my husband the whole time we looked at the cr-v, even though my husband was telling him that I was going to be the primary driver. Then he asked me what I didn't like. When I asked to look at the accord, for the second time, he sent out someone else with the keys. This person claimed to be his sales partner, and showed us the car, but still only pitched my husband. After the test drive, he only wanted to talk shit on other car companies. If that's the best he can do; to make Honda look good by trying to talk down all the other car brands then all I can assume is Honda really isn't a good car company. I love my new Toyota. read more

The assistant service manager Scott Brady was a complete jerk, rude condescending to me & said they can't just check the alignment they have to perform the work & charge me $99 dollars! unbelievable i couldn't believe this & how rude he was. Stated i need to talk to his general manager on monday even after i said ok fine i'll pay the $99 i jst need to have this checked with a printout he still wouldn't do the alignment check! Customer service is dead that entire service department is lacking from when i got there & waited 10 minutes to even be helped! Who refuses to do service on a car even after saying i'll pay?! I'm so sick of being treated in this manner && feel most times it's cause i'm a woman! Regardless if something is wrong with my car & it's putting me in danager while driving it the way it's shaking & drifting this place sure didn't care about me or my safety! Again unbelievable!!!!! && even after corporate spoke to the actual service manager alls hes was worried/concerned about was this yelp review!!!! again unbelievable!!! don't take your car here for any reason please!!! read more
