I LOVE this place. It's my favorite pizza in the area. I love that they have delivery on their website (you can also do DoorDash or use a delivery app, but I love that they do their own private delivery still). I've done scheduled delivery multiple times and it has always arrived right on time, and still hot. Me and my friends are obsessed with their calzones- I always get spinach and tomato inside, well done, with a side of ranch and hot peppers. The large is LARGE. I've frozen slabs of it to reheat later and they've been great when I needed a quick dinner. Pizza crust is decently thin, and I like to get it double cut since usually 1.5 slices is about what I want to eat (alone with calzone and onion rings). The best tuna sub I've ever had... There's not much else to say. It's just so good. and I thought maybe it was a one-off thing where I just got lucky, but I got it again a year later and it's still SO GOOD. They actually use ripe tomatoes. That alone makes a huge difference. Service, polite older gentleman kindly greeted me to take my order and the lovely lady in the back was all smiles. The pizza scene here is so highly competitive - Riverside strikes me as one of the less "gourmet" pizzerias, but they serve up a good, basic, and quite respectable pizza. Absolutely love this family owned business. I've lived here over 30 years and Riverside is a definitely a staple in my household. Food here you'd think be like all other pizza places but the pizza is delicious every topping. Club sandwiches are on point! My favorite is ham calzone and every flavor of Stromboli. Nah. Placed an online order: Daily Cheesesteak Special, $15.08 total. The email indicating that my order was being prepared was time stamped 9:15. Restaurant closes at 10:00. Delivery estimate was 40-55 minutes. Restaurant is 0.2 miles from my house. Six minutes after 10 I called to check. No answer, just rang and rang. And guess what? Now, more than an hour after my order was confirmed, the restaurant now unresponsive and my appetite quite certainly lost from sheer frustration, still...no...food. In fairness, because I ordered via their website directly I was able to select the pay later option - the equivalent of cash on delivery so I'm not out any money but I had no way of knowing I was waiting for food that would never come. I surely could have ordered a cheesesteak from any number of other places in Manayunk. Can't attest to the flavor of the food. It never came. At 10:30 on a Saturday I'll have to make other arrangements. read more

I won a Basket from IHM's Christmas Bazar, one of the Gifts was a Gift Certificate for Riverside Pizza. I was immediately impressed when I walked in. The place was clean & the people very nice. I ordered the Greek Salad & Chicken Parm Sandwich. The salad ingredients were so fresh, the cucumbers were thinly sliced (I saw the person cutting them as I was waiting), the Chicken Parm Grinder was one of the best I have had. I can't speak to their pizza, but I've ordered a few platters and know this place can cook. My favorite is probably the gyro special (gyro, fries, and a can drink for $8.29 plus tax). They also have a handful of other good deals like their 2 slice deal. Again, I haven't tried their pizza, so won't speak to that deal. Be warned, they add $0.35 if you use a credit card. They say it is "to avoid minimum charges" but I think its just a bs way to pass costs along to the customer. Its my main reason for not eating there more frequently. read more

My bf and I ordered delivery for the first time last night and I can't wait to eat my leftovers. We are new to philly and had tried 3 other pizza places in the area. They were all good but Riverside was by far the best. It was also priced more reasonably than the others. We shared two medium pizzas, one with just pepperoni and the other was the Maria. They were both delicious and the crust was the star of the show. Thin but not soggy and just the right amount of crunch. The Caesar salad was nothing over the top but was cheap and a good addition to our meal. Delivery was super quick and they actually were able to find our kind of hidden place. I had the buffalo wings and those things were flawless. Fried to perfection (fried hard but not dry) with a perfect sauce (not to hot but very flavorful. Tossed completely covering the wing.) I got the wings because of a review on Yelp. I drove 25-30 mins from the Germantown area of Philly to get them. It was worth it. I will be going back. And yes, it will be for the wings. I could care less about pizza when you got wings like this. Hopefully next time the wings will make the picture. read more

My brother and I tried Riverside for the first time a couple weekends ago. We got a large pepperoni, a small white Margherita (which I'd never heard of before), and Buffalo wings. When I walked in to get it, it just smelled like fresh basil, so bomb. Even better when we tried it - the white margherita was so good. We love how fresh the pizza was and overall everything was so good, one of the best pizza places we've had! And the wings were great! YAS PLEASE. When we originally passed by, the place looked dimly lit and somewhat empty. But don't let that fool you. This seems like more of a takeout place (but they have tables&seating.) The gyro was soooo good. The meat wasn't dried out like jerky and the toppings were noticeably fresh. The seasoning was perfect, the sauce was delicious, and the wrap was warm. Ordered the 3, 1 topping medium pizzas for 21 bucks. Not bad. Pizza was ready in a timely fashion. The mediums are more like smalls in 12'' fashion. The sauce was standard in each way not any spices to speak of. Dough was fresh, little bit of corn meal/flour excess on the bottom. Descent amount of cheese. Hot and delicious! My delivery order came in about 25 minutes which left my pleasantly surprised. My delivery person followed the contactless delivery guidelines which I appreciated. My food was still hot when I got it, which doesn't happen often with delivery. I got the small white pizza, an order of fries, and a tossed salad with honey mustard dressing. My favorite white pizza is at the jersey shore and this white pizza definitely rivaled it! The fries were hot and crispy and the salad was fresh and crisp. I have ordered from here several times and the pizza has been excellent. I would especially recommend the buffalo chicken pizza. This pizza isn't overwhelming with the buffalo sauce and has the perfect spice kick. Additionally, the pizza is very consistent which is sometimes hard to find with a pizza spot. I got a small - the portion sizes are decent so a small can potentially last two meals. Instead of dressing, I always ask for a side of tatziki (potentially spelled wrong?). It's a great addition and somewhat healthy since it's primarily yogurt. Chicken is grilled and the salad comes with olives, peppers, tomato, and onion.
