After a bad experience with my former dental office of 4 years I was pretty skeptical of starting all over. I have never encountered any type of medical practice where every single person is kind, welcoming, caring and super friendly. Dr. Akkari was over cautious that I be in complete comfort during the first phase of my dental implant. There was no pain at all! His price for the dental implant is $1000 cheaper, and I'm cash pay, then the last "spa type" office I was going to. I COMPLETELY recommend them!!!!! read more

I was in need on an oral surgeon after calling a hand full of others with no openings, I came across this gem who booked me a same day appointment!! The whole staff is amazing!! Dr. Akkari is so amazing I am definitely switching dentist. Love this location! I can see why they have 5 stars across the board. Staff is extremely friendly and Dr. Akkari has the expertise with obvious years of practice. My first time receiving fillings, I didn't know what to expect and was walked thru the whole process, assuring me at different times what was taking place and to voice concerns when needed. Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to, Dr. Akkari pulled 3 of my wisdom teeth a week ago and from start to finish I felt NO PAIN and yes I was awake. Dr. Akkari is a great dentist. Never once have I been scared or in pain during a visit to his office. All of his staff are super friendly and professional. Before he injects any numbing into your mouth he applies a topical numbing gel to your gums so you don't feel anything. I will continue to come back whenever I need dental work. read more

Horrible job. I dont know who made the positive reviews. The dental office is so small next to a a asian massage place. Staff not profesional. And dentist Akkai did a horrible job. He did a filling very deep that a lot of food gets traps there. And the other, he didn't palish an i feel a sharp edge. I have to return so they fix it. I HATE the dentist. Dr. Akkari and ALL his staff are just awesome. I may need a root canal because of the nerve situation. But this Dr is bending over backward to try and save my tooth. It's a long drawn out story. But I have to say, I've never seen a dentist care so much about comfort and your personal feeling, and how your mouth SHOULD look after. I hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Akkari and his entire staff are the BEST!! I needed a same day appointment and Rita, the front desk lady, got me in right away. My daughter came here two or three years ago and they remembered her and asked how she is doing. Angel, the dental assistant, is always so kind. Dr. Akkari is very knowledgeable and gives me information in a way that is straightforward and easy to understand. He is extremely gentle and I usually doze off while he is working on my teeth. He does beautiful work. I had a front tooth that cracked in half and part of it actually came off. He made it look better than the original tooth. It is always a fantastic experience. At 60 years old I've been to a few Dentists in my life. Hands down the best Dentist and Staff I've ever been to. That's why this place has 5 Stars here on Yelp. I went to other local places and never let them do more then a X-ray, either it was there pour staff communication, or the Dentist was non-responsive to questions and never explained what I really need done and just plain piss poor chair side manners. So far the work Dr. Akkari and his staff have done deserve 10 stars. read more

Coming from someone who has HATED going to the dentist my entire life (... resulting in me TRULY NEEDING a dentist now that I'm getting older ! Don't do it folks ! Toothaches SUUUCK!) I have to say I absolutely like everyone in the riverside SMILES office ... it feels almost as though a few of my friends and neighbors got their credentials and opened up a dental clinic. And I just started going there a few weeks ago. And it's not just about the people, although I don't like conducting any sort of business with folks I don't like, but I have to say Dr. Akkari answered questions for me that I've had for a long time now before I even had a chance to ask them ! Whereas my three prior dentists responded to my requests to understand all my options and why they would choose one course of action over another with brief, dismissive comments, basically always telling me in essence that "it's complicated and if I wanted to understand I too could become a dentist ' but until then I should just trust them and their judgement .. Dr. Akkari took time to explain to me exactly what he saw and what it meant and what he would recommend and why. And my other options if I didn't agree or want to go the recommended route at this time. I had a couple more questions which were answered completely, by the Dr. and his assistant Jazmine; one about the process of bone grafting and the various ways it can be done and their method and materials and the way it works, as well as a brief but thorough explanation of why my previous dentist likely chose to do some things he had done without telling me! Things I was still upset about a year or more later because i had yet to understand - and and previous dentists wouldn't explain it to me, now make perfect sense. So now, where I stand and what choices I have and options I have to pay for the procedures I may want to have done are completely clear to me. I honestly know I'm in the hands of people who live and work here in my community and who are invested in making sure I know what I'm doing and helping me to achieve the best dental health I can with what I have to work with! I've never enjoyed a dental appointment before. In fact Ive always dreaded them and I've almost always left feeling more embarrassed if not humiliated, than when I arrived; gone home with no options available but one course of extensive treatment I ve been too broke to do and being dismissed for not being willing or prepared to have what I needed done and told to come back when I figured it out; and feeling I should be utterly ashamed I had wasted some doctors time with my terrible teeth by coming in only wanting to do what could be done to alleviate my pain. Well NOT ANYMORE!! I highly recommend Riverside Smiles Dentistry - they are real people, they treat their patients like they actually LIKE THEM and CARE ABOUT THEM ... and they not only listen, they explain anything you want to understand, and they will work with you to get you where you need to be so you can enjoy better health and comfort. I've never said this in my life but ... I love my dentist! Im actually looking forward to going there and taking care of all of my dental issues. I haven't been to a dentist in 20 years...I was terrified to finally go and was told that Dr. Akkari was amazing. Every review on here is true. He is professional and quick and makes sure you don't feel any pain. He had to pull two of my wisdom teeth and had them out within five minutes. None of the root broke off and he got it all out in one pull. His office staff and dental assistants are also awesome as well and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and not in pain. Dr Akkari is AMAZING !!!! I have never felt so comfortable with a dentist before. I have been to a lot of them and was referred to Dr. Akkari through a friend at work. I went for a second opinion on a root canal and Dr Akarri was willing to try another option first before going the root canal route. Had not been to a dentist in many years until I needed a tooth extracted last year. The dentist is awesome. Had to have deep cleaning done...NOT pleasant but they got me thru it with not much pain. X-rays are a problem for me...but they are awesome and understood my problem and got me through it. Just had a cleaning and no pain. Staff is great. My daughter was getting married at the Mission Inn and my front tooth broke in half!!! Kourtney at the hotel called the Dr at 9:00 at night and I had an apt at 9:00 am. The tooth and wedding photos looked great! They billed my out of state insurance. Price was excellent and staff were kind and professional.
