This is my second time buying from Riverside Volkswagen and just like the first time I bought, I was greeted by the most polite and helpful employees and i didn't end up spending my entire day there. A salesmen Gil helped me test drive and find the exact car that I wanted within 20 minutes of being there, he was kind efficient and professional. We sat down inside with one of the managers Ray, we talked over some numbers and came to an agreement that worked for all of us, he also gave me an amazing low finance rate. There was very minimal back and fourth, Ray was very polite and straight forward, I didn't feel as if they were trying to take advantage of me or get more money out of me at any point. Once we came to an agreement Ray walked us over to the finance office where we had the pleasure of meeting Sammer, one of the finance managers. Sammer got our paperwork filled out and approved faster than any finance manager I've ever dealt with, and he gave us some laughs along the way. Leased my 2022 Taos back in August 2022 and received excellent customer service from Francisco and his manager. Took my car in today for a recall and unfortunately had to deal with a team member named Michael Lopez. He was rude and short the whole time. Not sure if me arriving at 7:26 am instead of 7:20 am was the issue. First thing I did was apologize to him. Overall, no thank you, no you're welcome. No acknowledgement, whatsoever. I asked him if he would call me when my car was done, and he told me he would. I did not receive a call. I received an email confirmation. After trying my best to have someone else help me when I was picking my car up, I still had to deal with his attitude. Again, no hello, no "I'm sorry I forgot to call you." Nothing. He did not even look up, just passed my paperwork to a coworker sitting to his right- who was really nice by the way. Next time, I'll either ask for a different team member in the service department or go to a different Volkswagen dealership. Beware. First and foremost, if you submit an online application whether it's directly to the dealership or through a third-party, know that you will not speak to the person that calls you or follows up...when you arrive at the dealership you'll be met by a random sales person. Throughout the entire application process I received one email from someone named Lauren a phone call from someone named Gladys and then went on to speak to two other completely different people in the store. These tactics are used to intimidate buyers. Of course, I was warned of these type of things, but that's not the worst part...I submit an application online and they did a hard inquiry on my credit, as expected. After they ran my credit online they told me I was approved for 20,000 with 2000 down, over the phone, something they just say to get you into the dealership. But once I was in the store they ran my credit a second time, then a third, fourth and finally a fifth time. I was told over the phone that I was preapproved for a $2000 down payment and a vehicle under 20 K. After running my credit FIVE times I leave the store with this: Approval for a car under 10,000 MAX lol at 2500 minimum down payment AND five new inquiries on my credit. Honestly a little hurt, and feel kind of stupid. Looks like I'll just work on my credit and get a loan directly through who I bank with. Dealerships are such con artist. And this one is no different. I've been fortunate enough to have had a company vehicle for the past several years but when I recently got a new job I was notified for the last minute that they would be retrieving the company vehicle. I had had my eye on the VW ID for since it was released but I knew that the demand for this car was very high and the supply very low. I started calling around to multiple dealerships in Southern California. I reached out to the Riverside dealership hoping that I would get lucky and they would be able to locate one for me that was maybe a last minute customer order that had been canceled. Within just a few days they got back to me letting me know that they did in fact have one. Michael in the finance department was extremely accommodating in working with me over the phone and answering all my questions as I live about 60 miles away from the dealership. He and the rest of the team were extremely accommodating and or even able to deliver the car to my home. From the time they called me to let me know they had one to the time the car was in my driveway was less than 24 hours. I could not be more happy with the level of service at this dealership provided. They were always transparent with the pricing which was extremely important given the current market and supply issues with vehicles in general. I had test driven other makes and models at other dealerships where they were clearly taking advantage of the market situation and price gouging their vehicles up charging them sometimes over 15K. This is my second review on this place and I am grateful to myself to make the right decision. We came in for a 40,000 miles maintenance service. Janice was the consultant who serviced us. She was very polite, energetic and knowledgeable. We didn't know it will take that long for such service so Janice was kind enough to offer us a rental car for couple hours which was exactly what we needed because me and my wife were starving...coffee in the service center won't be enough for our stomach :P Everyone is super nice in the Riverside VW service center so we feel like welcome home all the time when we visit here unlike some other service centers that make you feel you are not taken care of. Unfortunate that I have to review them a 1 star but the customer service has gone down the hill. We have purchased 3 cars from this dealership and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the sales agent and the finance folks who helped us but that's about it. Dealing with the service has become a joke. I took my vehicle in for service in august. Originally I was quoted pick up around 4-5. Then I received a call from my agent Esteban letting me know they where running behind schedule and potentially would need to keep it overnight, fine. Received a call back they would need to keep it and pick up next day. I would receive a call for pick up next day. Next day comes around and I haven't heard anything. I call early and was transferred over to service, no answer. I leave a message. Three hours go by, no call, so I reach out. Again; no answer. I leave a message. Again I call because I have no update and would like to know what time I should be there to pick up my car. I call again before closing time, the operator answers and says they are really busy so may not pick up but transfers me- again no answer, I leave a voicemail. Day comes and goes without an answer, I call Monday morning (they where closed Sunday) and was advised they would check the status quickly and call me back(also whoever answered the phone in service said they never received a voicemail from me- really?!?) They did, and I promptly went to pickup my car. Once I receive my car back I go inside and notice my car is filthy. Outside and inside. Inside on my passenger door, I see what appear to be some time of water stains on the dash and side panel. This is not the condition I left my car in when I dropped it off! I go back inside and the advisor come out to see and immediately starts telling me that he's "sorry" but he doesn't control what the techs inside the garage do. I know he doesn't control my vehicle inside the garage but come on! He definitely made me feel as if my issue was not so severe and was dismissive of my frustration. His only solution was to try and wipe it off- honestly what trust do I have that I want this person to try and clean my car? Additionally, how do I know what he will try to clean my car with?? I decline and leave because at this point I am beyond frustrated with the lack of accountability and lack of empathy. I have taken my car to be cleaned professionally, have tried to clean it my self- nothing works!! I reach out to speak with the service manager and am told he's in a meeting, leave my contact info and told he will reach out soon. I then receive a call from the advisor asking me to email photos to the manager of my damage. Send that and no call back or follow up from the manger, Oscar. I paid over $500 for this service and receive my vehicle back damaged. Needless to say I will NOT be bringing my car back. Nor will I be recommending anyone bring their vehicle to be serviced. I hate writing a negative review but I also would hate to see anyone be in the same place as me. Please do not bring your vehicle for service here. read more

I applied for a car loan online because my credit is horrible. I didn't think I would be approved after being denied from 3 small used car dealership. Her name is Christina and I was straight up front with her about my credit and I don't want to go there to waste anyone's time . She was very reassuring that they can make something work for me. I was still hesitant so I called one more time before making my 40 mins drive there and I confirmed with her that my credit is horrible , that she is sure I'm not wasting my time . She reassured me again so I decided to head here . When I got here I was introduced to Ray the Internet sales manager . I explained my situation of why my credit is so bad and he was so understanding that all he said was he is here to help me get back on track again. That we all have ups and downs so let's start over. I was like ok. I was still optimistic that I would get approved so while they were looking for a bank that would finance me . I went to look at cars outside . He reassured me that he will do what he can to get me financed and help build my credit again . Well I got approved and for a brand new car straight off the truck . I was shocked ! I been through some hard times and just to have someone help me get this car made my whole evening . These guys here are up front and not the typical shady car salesman. They are here to help you and also gave me some tips . Do bi-weekly payments for your car loan because it will save you a lot in interest and more towards principal . I never knew that and after a year I can go back to them to refinance to get a better rate as well . I would highly recommend this place and to deal with Ray or Roddy. On 5/26/2020 I decided that I wanted to look around for a new car. My husband and I stopped at two other dealerships. I pulled into the VW parking lot as our last resort. Upon getting out of my car I right away ran into our car salesman Carlos Leon. He right away put us at ease and started to give us options within our price range without being pushy about it. Carlos is amazing. Really patient, not overly pushy and pretty chill. So NOT your typical salesman which is what we got at another dealership. The first car he gave us to test drive, was the one we ended up getting a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and I LOVE IT! He even got us a great deal on my trade in a 2004 Saturn! 5 Stars!!! I've always gotten my 2007 Jetta serviced here. Recently I purchased a 2015 Chevy Cruze and it turned out to be a Lemon. It took months for the buyback to fully go through. I returned my Chevy to the Chevrolet dealership on 8/31/2020. I figured I'd drive my 2007 Jetta until my lawyers mail me my settlement check but since the car has been sitting so long, my battery doesn't hold a charge. So I did an application for CarMax and got approved but was told that since the chevy was still on my credit and isn't showing that it's paid off, I probably would not be able to get a car. So I decided to call VW to explain my situation. I told them that I did a buyback they day prior and that I have all the signed documents from Chevrolet dealership and also email me from my lawyers. Michael did my application over the phone. I sent him my pay stubs and whatever else documents I needed. I was approved. He showed me one car but I told him other cars I seen and he crunched the numbers to let me know all the information. Giving me my options. He didn't try to force a sell on me nor force a specific car on me. He told me to let him know what cars I liked and we'll go from there.
