This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The food, the service, and especially the margaritas all missed the mark. The margaritas tasted like dirty water completely watered down with no flavor at all. They were honestly some of the worst we've ever had. If you decide to come here, I'd recommend sticking with a beer and maybe a quesadilla, since those are pretty hard to mess up. Had (another) wonderful dining experience here, this time for Father's Day brunch. Lupe was our server and her service and recommendations for food & drink were top notch. Prices are reasonable, and the views are as good as they get with unobstructed views of the harbor all the way to Palos Verdes. The restaurant is clean, new, and TVs with sports even in the dining room (perfect for watching World Cup matches while dining). The only critique I'd offer is I wish they didn't use the end pieces of the loaf of bread for french toast--made the pieces tough. But the other breakfast items were great, as were the salsa, guac, and tortilla chips. What a gem to have in Redondo, especially for it being reasonably priced and accessible (wasn't a problem getting a reservation). I don't typically order this just anywhere I have to trust that it's fresh since it cooks in lime juices. Shrimp taquitos: $19 definitely craveable and a fav by returning customers Molcajete: $36 the star of the show! Comes with shrimp, skirt steak and chicken - all perfectly cooked in a sizzling Molcajete sauc which is smoky and tangy. We were very impressed by the food here. The highlight was the breakfast burrito but the guacamole toast was good too. Would have preferred if it was on sourdough or some other type of bread that doesn't mash down when you cut it but I would order it again so it obviously didn't bother me too much. The only complaint was that the coffee wasn't hot and they don't have a pot of coffee to come around with and refill so our poor waitress literally made four trips back inside with our cups to get refills. The food and drinks were good as well but it was a little wierd that I ordered appetizer, fajitas and a margarita flight and within 3 minutes of ordering all items they brought it all out. Yes, even my food. So for me, it felt like I got someone else's order that they messed up on, or they have it cooked already and they just heat it before they bring it out, or they are rushing you. The complimentary chips are not greasy and salsa is chunky and flavorful. Asada fajitas are plentiful with tender pieces of meat, cooked perfectly. Shrimp fajitas are plump and delicious too, but you get more bang for your buck with the steak. We also got them both without bell pepper, so they made it with extra onions. The fajitas come with corn or flour tortillas, Spanish rice or cilantro rice, black beans or refried beans or charro beans, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Very rude hostess, and barely at the front. Stated it will be 40 min to be seated. I see a whole empty table at the bar area and ask if I can sit there. She says no it's also for people waiting to be seated. Then I go online and make a reservation that is in 10 min and I check in with the other hostess and she says I can be seated in a few minutes. Then I'm seated in a few minutes... The shrimp ceviche is super spicy and not good. The fajitas were full of red and green pepper and barely any meat. The chicken taco trio was super bland and dry. Riviera Mexican Cantina is such a great addition from the same owners of Riviera Mexican Grill--similar quality, totally different vibe. This spot feels a bit more upscale while still being casual and comfortable. It's right on the water, which makes it perfect for a cute date night, and they have outdoor heaters so you can enjoy the view even when it's chilly. Service was excellent. Owen took great care of us--attentive, friendly, and full of spot-on recommendations without ever feeling overbearing. Our food came out incredibly fast and the portions were generous. Jonathan and I split the steak fajitas, and not only were they delicious, but we even had leftovers. I also loved that you can choose your style of rice and beans with the fajitas. My dad ordered the carnitas tacos and they were heaping--definitely not skimpy on the fillings. The only downside was the skinny margaritas. I took a nice walk around the Redondo Beach pier and came in here for a delicious lunch. I had a chili burrito with beans and rice and a soda. Everything tasted very good and the portion was very generous. I'm glad we came here. We sat outside and had a view of the ocean, seabirds, and rocks. We visited Rivera Mexican Cantina in Redondo Beach today on this Fathers Day. While the service staff did an excellent job, the overall dining experience was disappointing. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did everything possible to take care of us. The person in charge was also attentive and responsive throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the kitchen could not keep up with the holiday crowd. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When it finally came, my avocado toast was extremely soggy and appeared to have been sitting for quite some time before being served. Other meals at our table were either overcooked or prepared incorrectly. The experience was so disappointing that, for the first time in my long adult life, my family left the restaurant without eating our meal. The waterfront location and harbor views are beautiful, but the excessive wait time and food quality issues overshadowed what should have been a special Father's day celebration. My son-in-law is a wonderful father and our family wanted to celebrate him on Father's day. We will be celebrating Fathers Day next Sunday at our favorite diner instead. read more

I checked in and the lady was so nice to accommodate us outside as we wanted the nice sunset views. They were all so patient specially having high chair activity with my 1 year old. We came here because we had walked a few miles in Redondo Beach and were VERY hungry. We also lucked out because this food was fantastic! (and yes, if you're following along, we really had great food experiences this trip - so I'm not just dropping 5 stars like candy!)
