We stayed at this hotel for one night, and it accommodated our needs well. Our room had two double beds, and while it wasn't anything luxurious, it was comfortable and perfect for a good night's sleep. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel does not have its own parking. We had to park in a nearby garage and pay for parking. If you're lucky enough to find street parking, it will likely be a less expensive option. The property felt secure, with a coded gate to enter, and there was a nice outdoor patio area. Our room was located in the first building on the ground floor, which made it easy to get in and out. Although the hotel isn't directly on the beach, it's only a short walk away. One of my favorite perks was that our stay included complimentary beach chairs and towels, which was really convenient since we didn't bring our own. The location is excellent for exploring South Beach. We didn't have a car and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, making it easy to enjoy the restaurants, shops, and beach without worrying about transportation. I had the best stay at this adorable boutique hotel. Where to begin? The attention to detail, customer service and cleanliness was top notch. The room was way bigger that I expected with a kitchenette including a sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, dishes, glasses and silverware. A futon bed and desk in the living room and two large beds in the bedroom The decor is modern with a cool vibe. There was free breakfast included that was a nice bonus. And the location was perfect. Just a block away from Ocean Drive that is now a pedestrian street with many bars and restaurants to choose from. Close to beach volleyball courts and the best SB sights. I usually don't leave reviews but I can say I am VERY satisfied. You're getting what you pay for however I was surprised with how good of a service I received. I always ask for extra towels, blankets when traveling and the receptionist went above and beyond to make that happened. The bed room was roomy and comfortable with clean sheets, headboard and floors. The bathroom was decent. Nothing to complain about. I stayed for about 3 nights and it was perfect for walking the strip, going to different bars, restaurants ect...however I don't recommend if you're traveling in large groups. Typically for my types of trips this would be the hotel you'd travel with a party of three or less. Everything else was perfectly fine. With the upgrades and cute/simple interior design, this place could easily rate as a 4 star hotel. However, underneath the sheets/covers you realize that the mattress and pillows are super old and really disgusting!! I mean they're still usable but there was a pillow with straight up brown stains all over it!! EWWWWWW. That really grossed me out.. Overall, the place was decently priced and the room was a good size. Our group booked two rooms, and for us $5 more got us a suite with a living space. That was pretty neat! They also had free breakfast for hotel guests in the lobby in the morning. AWESOME! I think the customer service was a hit or miss. I wouldn't write this place out if I'm looking for a good deal, but I would definitely think twice about that brown pillow!! read more

We loved our stay here for Christmas. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. It was surprising quiet and we could not have asked for a better location! We spent several hours reading and socializing in the beautiful courtyard. We took advantage of the free beach chairs and towels. Breakfast was palatable but free, which is good enough. We also went across the street to the Carlton for Panther coffee in the morning. The main desk doesn't always answer phones and the receptionist wasn't particularly friendly. The cleaning staff were lovely. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this hotel. read more

This place ranges between the 3.5-4 star area. It is Great in terms of location, it is literally around the corner from all of the action on the strip. The customer service is excellent and its pretty quiet at night. however, there were a few things that irked me. 1) Majority of the channels do not work on the television. 2) The towels were dinged. im sure they were washed but the hotel needs to replace them 3) The texture of the sheets were slightly rough Pretty much its a hit or miss. If you plan to be outside all day and just need somewhere to sleep. then this is the place for you HOWEVER, If you are the type that likes to relax in a hotel before you actually go for a night out, you may want to try someplace else. read more

This was the back up hotel from The Delores . It's nice to be gated for safety reasons and the room we had was nice and spacey. The only draw is there is not a person at the desk after a certain time but it was ok, maid did not clean the room and only replaced one towel. Bathroom stayed dirty, tables dirty, don't think they took time for the small things that matters, things the customer see. The AC worked the whole time and we had a friendly roach I killed only to be replaced with another so I let him live. Let me start by saying that I am always very skeptical of those hotels on South Beach that aren't your typical Marriott, Hilton types. I was actually very pleasantly surprised by Hotel Riviere. They still use actual keys not key cards, which isn't a terrible thing just not what I'm used to. It's worth noting that the light switch for the bathroom is located in the closet. PROS: - The lobby smelled SO good!! - the shower got super hot and the water pressure was good. - the room had been completely renovated - the staff that I interacted with were really nice CONS: - quite a few ants by the fridge - quite a few mosquitos - the AC blew out cold air but didn't get as cold as I would've liked - the lighting in the bathroom isn't fantastic Overall, I liked it. If you're flying into Miami do not book this hotel!!!!! My airline cancelled the flight and the next available was 2 days away which wouldn't work. That would've left us in Miami for less then 24 hrs. So I called explained the situation had the note from airline and that still didn't work. This was beyond my control as I learned about the flight cancellation via text soon I got to the airport. I can understand if I cancelled for other reasons but this I can't control! Location location location. This was the best place to stay if you're looking to be near the beach, restaurants, shopping and Espanola way while still staying in budget. This hotel is on a busy street and offers the small quaint hotel vibe. Our room was spacious with two double beds and a futon in the separate living room section. The shower was modern and the amenities were great. We had ac units in both the living room and the bedroom. The lobby lent us beach chairs and towels to take with us to the beach one block down. Late post, but this place is very convenient. It's in the center of everything and the beach is a 5-10min walk away. It's not a luxury villa or anything. If you're looking for that, this is not the place for you. There were tiny ants throughout the closet where the refrigerator was and the sink was slow to drain. Besides those small issues it's perfect for a group who's only goal is to use the room to sleep and store your luggage. The staff was very friendly and informative. I loved my stay at the Riviere! I came here with my friends during Miami Music Week after the RV we were supposed to stay in broke down and we had no where to sleep. Found this place online and it was one of the few that was reasonably priced yet still vacant. The location is perfect- one avenue away from the beach and within walking distance from lots of restaurants and shops. A cab ride to Club Space only put me out about $20 which was much less than what I expected after hearing Miami cab horror stories. The hotel looks more like a colorful villa style apartment building rather than a traditional hotel. Perfect for taking pictures in. What made this place so great however was the excellent customer service! The guy who checked us in, Romero?, was really helpful and friendly. He was kind enough to upgrade our room to a suite which was FANTASTIC! An awesome kickoff to our Miami vacation! The suite had lots of room for 3 girls and came with a mini kitchen and hot plate which was a big plus for me since i hate spending money out eating. I slept on the couch while my friends got the two double beds in the bedroom. The couch was really comfy! I was also impressed with how many mirrors there were in the suite. Big plus when you're rooming with a bunch of girls getting ready to party. The hotel has a really nice gated outdoor area which was a perfect place to chill in the Miami sunshine, gaze at the palm trees, and meet the neighbors. I really like that it was gated since it allowed for privacy- no worries about cops coming by. The hotel was very quiet even though it was in a popular area. Unfortunately we were only able to stay at the Riviere for 1 night since they were completely booked for Ultra Music Festival. Romero was nice enough however to let us keep our luggage at the hotel after we checked out and use the bathroom in the lobby throughout the day. Wish I could have stayed longer! No frills accommodations can be quite comfortable as long as the staff understands that they're not doing customers a favor by doing their jobs. The most annoying and short-sided approach to customer service is INFLEXIBILITY! Especially in the hospitality business. After our first night here I realized I had inadvertently booked two separate reservations consecutively instead of just booking one room for two nights. My second reservation (which is for tonight's stay) is actually for a larger, better room but the front desk agent refused my offer to let whomever reserved my room have a bigger room in order to avoid the inconvenience of checking out and waiting 4 HOURS to check back in! Pros: The location is AMAZING! A block from Ocean Drive yet very quiet & didn't have to deal with the noise of the strip. Close to everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Cons: no parking. Although the room looked clean, the shower had hair from previous occupant on drain. EWWWWW! There was not enough coffee, sugar, cream, nor toilet paper as we either had to buy our own or keep going to the office. NO ICE!!! What hotel has no ice machine??? The gate was "locked" opened and we couldn't close it. The mattresses are uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The cleaning crew just made the beds & did not "clean" the sufficiently. The light switch in the bathroom is in an awkward location as you must go in, close the door to get to switch. It should be by the sink as you walk in or the door needs to swing open on the opposite side so you can easily access the light switch. There needs to be hooks somewhere in the bathroom to hang your clothes while you shower and your towels afterwards. There should be a shelf or two to put your toiletries on instead of on the sink as things get all wet. The toilet paper holder should face the opposite direction as when you pull the paper it falls out of the holder. (It's the little things that annoy you!) read more

I stayed at this hotel from 9/3 - 9/5/2013. I live on Miami Beach and needed a place to stay while my condo was under renovation. I was very impressed. It is always a concern when you book a hotel on South Beach that the hotels will be run down due to Spring Break and being a mecca for partying. It was ideally located on Collins Avenue in South Beach. 1 blk away from Starbucks, the beach, and the Art Deco and Ocean Drive, the ocean, and all the bars and restaurants. The rooms are newly stylish, clean, and I found the staff to be very professional and helpful. The room had 2 comfortable sofas, table for 4, frig, microwave, dishes, large bathroom and 2 very comfortable beds, 2 flat screen tvs, air condition in both rooms. What a nice treat for our family. As locals we tend to stay away from the excitement of South Beach, but I will definitely stay here again! I loved this place because of the ideal location, cleanliness, space, $, and the fact that it was 1 blk away from the party scene, we could sleep in peace and not be charged an arm and a leg. As a woman, I felt very safe. I will recommend this hotel to all my family and friends that come to visit Miami Beach. read more

In the heart of the Art Deco District! Across the street from Ocean Drive! I loved the location! Our room was huge and had a small refrigerator which allowed me to buy a gallon of milk and cereal and save some money dining out. The building is gated and there was always a person working at the front desk, so I never worried about being robbed while I was gone. Being South Beach, the street was noisy with cars and people and music and I could hear it all inside the room. That's not their fault, but I'm glad I brought earplugs. There is no parking so if you have a car, you'll have to park it in one of the nearby garages overnight for about 20 bucks. (I didn't have a car so I didn't have to deal with that.) My only complaint was with the shower: the water got just above lukewarm at best. No matter how long I let it run, the water did not get hot. I think I got a great value for the price I paid and I enjoyed calling Riviere "home base" while I was in South Beach. read more

I went to miami for the first time in Mid June. it's REALLY tough to find somewhere affordable without bed bugs/dirty/roach/bad review issues. this place deserves the affordable/supreme cake. the service there is amazing. Ramiro (apologies if I spelled his name wrong) is AWESOME. he stayed on top of everything. made sure we had beach towels while we waited for our room to be ready. promised to call us should a room open before check in time. was cordial, sweet, professional, attentive, informative. (so was all of the staff, but HE who we mostly dealt with in particular...AWESOME!) everything was clean, quiet, comfortable, nice, new. I loved it here. designated outdoor space for smoking. close (10 min or less walk to the beach) they cleaned the room daily. super bang for your buck. I'd go back, and definitely glad we made the right choice. read more

My mom and I had a reservation for 2 days. Upon arriving at the airport the hotel shuttle was an hour and a half late.. which I found out after 3 calls to the hotel upon waiting! Once we finally made it to the hotel the street it was on was very sketchy and run down. The front office staff as very polite. However once we got to our room it looked nothing like the pictures. It wreaked of a terrible musty smell. The room was filthy and poorly maintained; there were cracks on the walls, dirty bathroom, and linens were not freshly washed at all an bedskirt was dingy with stains. The microwave an mini fridge were very old and not clean. I was very disappointed but was going to make due. Upon leaving the hotel to walk around my mother recived an emergency call that forced us to immediately head back home to Kentucky. So we checked out never receiving paperwork for proof of reservation or checkout, due to using ID 90 a hotel booking site. I'm currently in the process of getting attempting a refund on at least one of my 2 days I have paid for. So far I have been given the run around and the owner is unreachable. My husband and I stayed here this past weekend with another couple. None of us had ever been to South Beach before, so we wanted to be in the middle of all of the action. We parked at the parking garage on 13th (one block SE of the hotel) and only paid $20. We arrived early to hit the beach and they ended up letting us check in 2 hours early. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating (they do put a hold on your card of $100 deposit). We stayed in room 104, which had 2 queen beds. We found everything to be of decent quality and clean. Again, this is not the Ritz Carlton so it's not Egyptian cotton sheets, but it was comfortable enough to crawl into after the bars at 4 am. They had a breakfast in the morning; however, we didn't wake up early enough to check it out. Being only 1 block west of the beach and 2 blocks south of Lincoln was great and worth the convenience of location! We paid more for this hotel than I would like to admit, however, it was around the holidays and in season for SoBe so all of the hotels were priced around the same for this quality. I did notice when researching hotels that if you go any lower in price, there were a lot of complaints of bugs or being far from the action. I would definitely say it's worth the splurge on a hotel to sleep in comfort and avoid paying extra for taxis, etc. read more

The housekeeper gave us wet towels, theres no staff all the way until the morning, theres no shuttle like advertised, theres no breakfast like advertised, we had to pick our keys up from a different hotel. No parking on site. Had to walk blocks. Never answered the phone when I called over and over to ask about parking once I arrived and didn't find a lot. Not beach front. Have to walk a block over to get to it. Tile in my shower was cracked and stained. Had trouble getting hot water to come on. My bathroom window was open when I got there letting bugs and a lizard in. Stairs will make it hard for handicap or elderly. Breakfast time a woman working there stood right over me the entire time. Was very uncomfortable. My original room was hot, the AC wasn't working. I was moved to a new room, and that room did not have toilet paper. When I requested some from a front desk agent I was told that they locked up for the night & could not supply any. I spoke to an assistant manager the following morning & she told me that that's very out of character for the front desk agent that was working the previous night and she needed to talk to her to get her side of the story because that was out of character for the agent. She basically brushed me off as if I was lying. I had to go out & buy my own toilet paper. I was offered to be reimbursed for the toilet paper but that's isn't the point. I did not want my money back, I just wanted someone to be held accountable for their actions and to make sure this never happens to another paying guest. Also there's no free parking as Expedia claims. There's only metered street parking for $4/hour or over priced parking lots. read more

Location is absolutely amazing. I had to stay here because it was affordable and them being able to accommodate us after we changed our flights last minute, because we just hadn't had enough of Miami yet. I was not the biggest fan of the rooms. They were neatly decorated and I loved the pop of green decor and modern accents. The bathroom was newly remodeled, but it was extremely annoying that the loud fan was running when the light was on. I didn't like the bed or the smell of the sheets. The mattress was thin and the boxspring cover on one of the beds had cloth missing. But I didn't really have much of an option, I just needed a place to lay my head for the night. There were a couple of gnats flying around that I had to kill and one tiny spider I killed (or thought a killed I saw him fall graciously with my weapon of choice, flip flop, and I couldn't find him after), but it was ground floor with trees out in front so I'm sure that's how they got in. Not to mention they don't close the main door so all nature has open access to creeping through the cracks in your hotel door. The hotel is set up like an apartment complex and if you aren't ground floor it isn't really suitcase friendly due to having to climbs steps. I think if maybe we gotten a bigger room with the light wood floors in the picture shown I would have liked it a bit better ( also if I had my Lysol to load down those sheets). read more
