The standard suite room right next to the restaurant downstairs.

This is the perfect little hotel for a little getaway. We stayed for 1 night in the standard studio. It's a perfect little room, equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, little sofa, small coffee maker, iron and ironing board. It's renovated, so it's nice and clean. The location is prime. It's directly across from the beach and right on the strip on Ocean Dr. There's a Walgreens and CVS within walking distance. Check in was so easy and smooth. They even let us check in early which was so nice. Our room was right by the restaurant, so you can hear the music, but it's Miami and by the time we went to bed everything was closed down. I did wake up to the music the next morning at the restaurant but it was nice piano music. The rooms AC worked amazing (it did drip a tiny bit because of how hot it was outside versus how cold it was in the room, but nothing crazy.) They do give you beach towels (not new or anything but just perfect for the beach). Overall, I would stay here again. The price was good, especially for the location. The view from the pool on top is beautiful and there was hardly anyone up there using it. It's an older hotel, but is quirky and nice and the staff were all super friendly.

The restaurant is adjacent to the hotel new and awesome all FRESH!! Hostess helpful, friendly and hospitable Staff excellent!! Bartender excellent know his drinks mixers done perfectly! Meet the new owner outstanding person! Price $$ at the most. WE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE DELICIOUS!! We loved all around everything of it. Environment, the setting inside could not speak of the outside seating.

July 17, 2021 - I've reviewed the Fritz before. We ate at a restaurant in front of The Fritz. I'm assuming it's owned by Fritz Hotel, but probably don't have the name of the Hotel. So I cant' give you the name of the restaurant. Look at my added photo's to see my review. FYI, Ocean Drive currently is closed off to cars. Pedestrians can walk in the street freely. Which I appreciate. The side walks were difficult to walk on with all us people. :) Would I eat at this restaurant in front of the Fritz Hotel again? YES. Happy Eats

With the good comes bad. The suite is roomy. Large refrigerator. Plenty of shelves and drawers. The freezer door is odd.. It hits the wall. That makes it impossible to use freezer. I wanted to freeze my water for beach but could not get my arm in door. Bathroom is outside the bedroom. Bathroom fan is soooo loud. There are plenty of shelves by sink but none in shower. Also the shampoo , conditioner and body lotion were all used and sticky. Not sealed. Definitely not new. We bought some at the Walgreens, along with bar soap and dishwashing soap. The location is great! The bad is you wouldn't know that from the view of nasty building next door. See pic. The couch had sand all over it. It was not cleaned at all. The kitchen was very clean. They even had plates and cups for use. Bedroom, closets and bathroom were clean as well. Closets are huge but you only get 2 hangers. I saw that mentioned in other reviews so I actually packed hangers lol The pool is small but the rooftop view is fantastic. Its quiet. No music. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were fabulous. Nearby: South Beach Cafe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Walgreens and CVS for all your needs. Liquor store. Here's the deal..they do care. They will have the couch vacuumed. Provide you with new toiletries and towels. If you can look passed the room view and weird doors it's a great location with a super friendly staff. It's basically a no frills stay.

The Fritz Hotel on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach is a good place to stay that is a good value and in the middle of everything by the beach. I like the views and the pool area that they have here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need.

Ate at the Fritz Cafe and it was delicious. We ate during Happy Hour and they had a menu with calamari, shrimp, and other items priced from $3 - $5. Great food and a great price. The 2 things that I didn't like was that there wasn't refills on the soda and in the bill they automatically charge you a service fee for your order. I'm guessing that it's a gratuity fee or something, but I'm not cool with that because I should be the one to decide what the waiter's tip is going to be and they shouldn't just assume that it's going to be a certain percent of the bill.

THE FRITZ CAFE In reviewing the cafe outside in front of hotel. We ordered the chicken lollipops!! They were soooooo delicious. So much FLAVA! Customer service was friendly! Food arrived in a timely manner !

Avoid room 102! It's literally right behind the front desk. Noisy

It's kind of strange that a lot of hotels on Ocean Drive are rated around 2 stars. You'd think there would be better options for such prime vacation real estate. I wasn't looking to spend over $250 for a random Wednesday, but I didn't want bed bugs either (happened a few years back). All I was looking for was a decent place to crash after a jillion mojitos and the answer was The Fritz Hotel. My wife and I took a redeye flight and got there around 7:30am. The front desk person was super accommodating and kindly checked us into our room while waiving the $50 early check-in fee. He then informed us that our room was right behind him. LITERALLY right behind the front desk!! The room was decent enough but after a couple of hours, we found it was impossible to get a nap in. Any conversation happening in the lobby was clearly heard in bed. I did get to brush up on my Spanish comprehension though. Avoid staying on the first floor if you can. I made it clear to the front desk that I did appreciate them taking care of us so early and then asked for a room change. They had a room on the 5th floor, but the elevator was broken. I honestly would have said yes to the 50th floor. The next room was much nicer with a separate living area and full kitchen. The rooftop pool and deck looked alright but the weather wasn't cooperating. $125 plus the $12 resort fee for wifi and other amenities like..ummm..yeah..so..wifi, made this OK value for 5th and Ocean. The Delano it was definitely not, but it was bang for buck. This is a much better option than staying at Colony or Starlite for sure. I'd have no qualms coming back.

    Excuse the mess.

Location may be not be ideal but there are a lot of great things about this hotel! I was a but nervous about having booked the studio but it is actually more spacious than many of the rooms I've seen or stayed at on Ocean. The room is ideal for 3 people. Sofa bed is hard but the front desk provided additional bedding (not a problem if you don't use the room much). Front desk is friendly and accommodating (proving additional towels/ beach towels) Rooftop pool. Size is perfect, again most hotels on ocean don't have pools. Cab ride from 4th to 11th/12th street about $5 Maid not available 24/7, let them clean when they come. Very modern. Wood floors. It appears to have been recently redone. Overall... I'd stay here again.

I stay in hotels pretty often so I feel like I have a good footing when it comes to hotels and prices. The Fritz is not a 5-star hotel, but it is extremely conveniently located on Ocean Drive next to all the action and right across the beach. At first when you walk into the main lobby, it seems like this will be a weird hotel that won't have the nicest rooms, etc. I definitely had that feeling but I was honestly wrong. When I walked into my room (105) it was an awesomely decorated studio room with high ceilings, marble floors, a big comfortable bed, couch, lots of room to walk around in and had a sweet bathroom/shower. I added photos so you can see what it looks like. It was super clean and the guy at the front desk helped me check-in early so I wouldn't be stuck without a room for the early part of the day. I heard there was an awesome pool/view from the top floor but I didn't get a chance to go up there. Overall, for the price this is an awesome hotel and if I am looking for an affordable place, good location and awesome room I would stay here again. If you don't like the noise from outside, try not to stay on the first floor - but hey, you're in Miami and on Ocean Drive, you can't expect nothing less! Had a great time!

After searching South Beach hotels for a reasonably priced room, I got lucky when a cancellation allowed me to book a last minute reservation for a studio suite at The Fritz Hotel. The room was simple, clean, and modern. It looked just like the pictures online. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival, especially after reading horror stories of bed bugs and roaches and other creepy crawlers found at other hotels in SoBe. [I find it so strange that many of the hotels on and off the strip are so subpar given the destination]. The location was great- right b/w 5th & 6th on Ocean Drive directly across from the beach! Fabulous views from the rooftop deck and pool area. We got a parking spot the first night right across the street from the hotel. (Parking in the area is free from 3am-9am so that worked out great). Fernando at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Only issue was the remotes in the room were weird- couldn't turn the volume up or down with the remote. And the tv in the bedroom area was a bit small. Other than that, it was a great stay! I would definitely stay here again!

Our room on the first floor.

I would stay here again. It was clean, the staff was friendly and very accommodating, and the hotel's got a rooftop pool and lounge area that no one ever seems to use. You're also right across from the beach and bike rentals. The one thing they don't tell you when you book is that there's no parking lot. You either pay $30 a day for a valet to take your car God-knows-where, or you pay the hotel $20 a day to park in a secure garage two streets behind the hotel on Collins Court. I chose the garage and my car stayed cool in the shade while we roamed SoBe. There's also a $12 buck a day "resort fee" So be prepared to spend another $35 bucks a day in taxes/fees/etc when you book your room at this hotel. If it's any consolation, however, these fees are cheaper than many of the other resorts on Ocean Dr.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window.

Included with your resort fee are cool fitness sessions, daily gelato, and complimentary beach chairs. Umbrella is not included ($30 extra) and the day beds run around $300 - $350. It also included 2 hour bike Art Deco tour. Self parking is $55 and Valet is $58 so really no difference. Anything you care to do is probably walking distance which is great including a park for pets and kids. There is an on location restaurant called LoLo's Surf Cantina that you can order to the beach after 11:00 am. The rooms are small but accommodating. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because the upkeep is moderate. We found serval places with mold, dust, and stains.

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

We spent the afternoon by the pool, enjoying drinks and snacks, which were delicious and the perfect way to relax. Later, we headed to Happy Hour at Lido, and it was fantastic. The drinks were excellent, the food was great, and the waterfront setting made the experience even more special. The entire property has a laid-back luxury feel, with beautiful landscaping, comfortable seating areas, and amazing views. Whether you're visiting for a spa day, drinks by the pool, or Happy Hour at Lido, The Standard delivers a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend for a relaxing day in Miami Beach!

The rooms have been thoughtfully re-designed, but still have that cold Miami cinder block feel. In other words you won't do more than sleep in them. The pool area is fantastic with a bay view and plenty of chairs. Lido Grill, the main restaurant, is nicely done and people / pet friendly. Service was good, once you got their attention, which was on you, not them...we had the lobster, fairly priced at $39, but was like rubber and inedible. Sides were a throw away. Drinks were very good. Other points, nice mini bar in room, however NO coffee in room and coffee shop doesn't open until 7 AM. A regular room, facing back away from bay, dinner for 2, minor mini bar invasion (2 drinks) valet, was over $1100. Not worth the cost.

The kind of place where…read moreyou walk into the lobby and instantly feel like you've stepped into a glossy magazine spread. High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. Enjoy

This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.
