Everything from the lime to the meat was dry and flavorless. I've only been once.... but it's rare to have taco that wasn't at least " normal / usual ". Could have been a bad day, which I understand but there are too many authentic Mexican eateries to give chances. read more

I got the chicken enchiladas, beans and rice. I asked for some hot sauce, which I don't know if that is homemade or not, but it really brought the food to life with some nice fire, which I enjoyed. The food was fine, good -- not bad, but not amazing, just "normal." But I like to support small local businesses, especially in these times. I heard they were really good. What is weird is that there is a taco bell in the same parking lot, so I can't help but make comparisons to that. (And honestly, I really like taco bell and eat it fairly often), So honestly, I wonder if that must be hurting this business a lot. And I don't know if this is because of covid or not, but food was served on a divided styrafoam plate with plastic utensils. It would present much better is there were real plates and silverware. So although they had seating as open, it really felt like perhaps I should be doing take out. I was there at 4pm on a Tuesday, so they were not busy with a lunch or dinner rush. The young man behind the counter was friendly. There were two other men standing behind the counter. They kept their backs to me. I did see one woman in the kitchen doing the food prep. I had the chicken nachos and they were ok. Big portion for the price. Quick service. The most disappointing thing was the cheese. It was literally cheese sauce. Not my preference especially if supposed to be authentic Mexican. read more

We loved it!! We ordered a variety of tacos, carnitas(3), steak(3), chorizo(3), and chicken(4), plus a large order of rice. We got the classic onion and cilantro and they had pre-made packets of salsa's next to the pick-up area. We ordered through DoorDash though I just discovered I could order through yelp. This was our first time eating from hear and I'm sure we'll be back. We decided to go here again for cinco de Mayo so I'm updating my post. Order a little different just because we didn't want to split the last of each taco again. The order was (4)steak, (4) al pastor, (4) chorizo and (4) chicken for the kids. Plus we got two large sides of rice so we can have a little left over! Nice, friendly, fast service. The food was just meh for me. The salsas are really good though. I love the extremely hot one, but I'm a spice lover anyway. The place is like a Subway. It's in a strip, bright yellow on the inside, and you walk up to the counter to order. The menu is like a taco truck moved indoors. They have tacos, burritos, bowls, tortas, quesadillas, and nachos. You can pretty much pick chicken, steak, or pastor for everything. We had the 3 taco platter and a burrito bowl. Everything was too dry for my liking. All of the meat was dry, and the tacos are soft shell, so they serve them doubled up which adds to the dryness of it all. I like the radish and cucumber garnish, and I like the option of Mexican Coke. If we find ourselves here again, I would probably try the quesadilla. The staff was very nice. read more

This place is great. Every time I visit, the food is always delicious! When I go (2-3 times a month), it's always at lunch as I work nearby. The wait is never too bad, you can call ahead if you'd like. Staff is always friendly and my order has never been incorrect. Will continue to dine here when I'm in the mood for Mexican food. Highly recommend. I would imagine this is as close to authentic as you can get without traveling to another country read more

Got the steak taco salad bowl and a large guacamole. The guacamole seemed like it would be larger than it was. Salad bowl was on point. I pass this place all the time & finally tried it. Guac seems kinda basic for a little Hispanic place. All in all good tho. Chips for gauc are homemade. I would suggest you try this place out. Next time I'm getting the fajita. Parking is in a lot shared with other businesses. Located off of Shadeland & 10th further back in the lot. read more

The tacos were pretty good. I had the steak and a chorizo. I love corn tortillas so this was right up my alley. Both the steak and chorizo were good choices and they were topped with cilantro and onions. They have a few different sauces to top off your meal with. The green mild and middle hot sauce were really tasty. I also had a cold coke in a bottle to make everything right. My hubs had the pastor and steak and he seemed to enjoy them as well. One of the girls had a cheese quesadilla with rice and mandarin oranges. It was your basic cheese quesadilla and my daughter ate it up. My other girlie had a beef taco with cheese andbthe same sides. This was my first visit and I wondered if it would be any good because the menu is quite small. My husband and I both ordered tacos. I got the order of three steak tacos for $6-ish and they are served with cilantro and onion with sliced lime. My husband ordered two chicken tacos, no cilantro and onion but added lettuce, cheese, sour cream and tomato. There is an area where little plastic containers of mild, medium and hot sauces are available and pick de Gallo is available for the asking. We also ordered guacamole and chips. The chips were very thick and stone ground. Not my favorite but the guacamole was excellent! The tacos were very, very, very good and I would eat there everyday if I could! My husband can be quite picky and he said he would definitely want to eat here again so yay for me!!! read more

Love, love this place! Friendly staff, yummy food! My new go to place for Mexican. I've had lunch here several times - chicken soft taco is excellent. Green sauce and lime compliment well. Stopped in RJ's for a quick dinner to go. This was my first visit. I Was not disappointed. Decided on the Burrito Bowl with pork. All the ingredients were delicious and no one thing was over-loaded in the bowl. Perfect portions of rice, beans, pepper n onions with fabulous pico, tasty guac and topped with just enough sour cream. I 'll definitely be back to try some other menu items. Took a chance on this place today for lunch. I'm glad I did. I had the 3 tacos plate. The chicken was great. It wasn't shredded chicken which is better IMO. The food was fresh and tasted great. Fresh chicken and fresh cilantro is ok in my book! They come on corn tortillas but I asked for flour tortillas instead. I would have given a 5 star review but my only complaint was the chips and queso cheese sauce. I think the chips are out of a bag, which itself isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'd prefer fresh made chips. The staff was inviting and nice. Lastly, this isn't a normal Mexican restaurant per se, I liken it more to a lunch counter restaurant. Imagine Penn Station serving burritos and tacos. I'll come back for sure. Glad I took the chance to check it out. You should too! read more

For my first experience, I ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans in red sauce. First of all I did not expect the chicken to be in cubes, normally the chicken is to be shredded,but that's OK, the food was"very flavorful, "but it was not hot like it should be , i'm not talking about spicy there, I'm talking about cooking temperature, it was just warm , and yes I only live less than a mile away so it was not as hot .I don't know The reason, maybe is because I came in right before they close I have no idea, but I'm looking forward to going back in trying the other stuff. Got "RJ's burrito". It hit the spot. Nice and big, light yet super filling. Opted to mix my meats; steak and chorizo. Super tasty. Worth noting that this is the first place I've ever seen that offered tripe as a meat option. Didn't try it today, can't promise that I will in the future. Their sauces, three, were really good. Their green sauce was light, citrusy, just a little bit of spice, and really refreshing. Their spicy red sauce had a nice flavor with a definite kick of spice, and their extra spicy sauce had a smokiness to it. It was definitely the spicy one at the party. It wasn't crazy hot, but it left you a reminder of what you just ate. The tortilla had been grilled after filling which gave it a nice crispy exterior and a variety of textures and flavor. The flavors really played off each other well but nothing stood out. The green sauce gave it a welcomed brightness to the experience. Not sure what everyone loves about this place?? Food is bland. Got the cheese dip and it was on par with what you would get from a concession stand at a hockey game. The RJ Burrito lacked flavor nothing special. The beans and rice from Taco Bell is better than the beans and rice I had here. So RJ Burrito,beans and rice, medium cheese dip, and two lemonades $20.00 and very disappointed! Don't waste your time. There are several Mexican food choices in the area, skip this one. read more

So they made me a veggie torta which is not on the menu. It was very yummy and I appreciate them doing it . The rice though ya just don't get it it was either microwaved or sitting in the pan for a long time . It also had no flavor . I can honestly not recommend this place enough. Went in here blindly because I was hungry and left truly satisfied. The green sauce had a perfect mild flavor to it and I easily slathered it on everything I got. Would definitely recommend the Chorizo Tacos and the Chicken Quesadilla. Everyone working there was nice and they all thanked us on the way out. Incredibly satisfied read more

I am a regular at this place because I love it so much!! I'm originally from California so Im a huge taco critic. This place is def up to my standard. Meat is always seasoned and hot, service is excellent, the salsas are flavorful! I always get carne asada tacos so I I can't speak for anything else. Love love love!! read more

The server took another person's cup from the table and refilled it in the back. That was strange and seemed unsanitary. We didn't get everything we asked for. I'd say language was the problem except for the fact the server had understood my requests when "crema" was the only Spanish word I used. Ladies' room had room for one person at a time. The sink was backing up. It felt dingy like the rest of the building. I'm glad they had paper towels and not just a hand blower. I didn't choose the restaurant. It was one of the worst if not THE most horrible Mexican meals & experiences I've had in my life. Hard pass. I'd gladly pay more for better fare elsewhere. I can make far superior at home.

I also asked for a to-go box but was never brought one, so I had to leave my leftovers behind in order to walk to work and make it there on time. I would try this place again, but maybe next time I would sit at the bar to make the interaction quicker and easier.
